I don't usually hand out five stars. Nobody is perfect. But Pima Pain comes close. 1.The staff are professional, yet not cold. In the whole time I've been going, I have never felt talked down to or disrespected by anyone, from the assistants, to the Doctors. 2.The facilities are spotless. That says a lot to me; I see it as a sign of attention to detail and good hygiene. Important, considering I'm coming to have needles stuck in my body. 3. Communication. People explain stuff, and don't seem to mind stopping for a question. And if they don't know, they find out. 4. Best online check-in service, ever. So easy. 5. For the past six years, I have been dealing with unrelenting pain. Once the opioid crisis hit, and the Feds started cracking down, doctors got scared. The Doctors I'd had for years wouldn't help me anymore. Every day was a struggle, and the possibility of having a decent quality of life started to seem remote. I found Pima Pain on Google. It was life -changing for me. I have always felt anxious about requiring opioids in order to do my daily activities with a reasonable amount of discomfort, and to get at least 4 hours of decent sleep at night. I'd become uncomfortable with being treated with suspicion, the little comments about problems with drug-seekers, etc. One I started at Pima Pain, it was a whole different game. Their goal is to give me a better quality of living, and they have delivered. My NP, Yvonne McLemore, really listens to me, answers my questions without making me feel that I'm wasting her time, and is always cheerful and optimistic. She's awesome. Dr. Annabi is one of the best doctors I've ever dealt with. I have read some of his reviews here, and I could not disagree more. He is clinical and intelligent without being condescending, he explains everything thoroughly, and he listens. He has been nothing but kind and compassionate to me, and if there's a problem, he comes straight out and talks about it in a frank and honest way, without just assuming, or acting like because he's got the Degree, he's right. Dr.Schiller also gets two thumbs up. He's quick and thorough, and I like his wry sense of humor. I recently lost a child, and the genuine kindness and compassion I've received at Pima Pain, from all these practitioners, has been incredible. Sometimes I am reduced to tears by their kindness. Response was a canned public response to cover the anticipated congressional investigation I'm filing through the VA and Tricare so other Veterans and their families don't have to be treated the way I was. I hope the Dr. Is exposed for what he did. I have no problem standing up for those without a voice and being intimidated by medical personnel. They have a duty and responsibility to care for their patients and do what's right. I haven't been able to do much since they did 2 mbb blocks. Just that and an epidural took alkost 3 months. The organization is a mess. Evey time I go in , just a lot of crippled patients. What do they cure ? They caused me to be on a walker at 60. I told the Dr the 1st mbb didn't work. They went ahead and did a 2nd. Back seized 5 minutes after leaving the clinic. Told the Dr. I refused treatment when the procedure was changed after I arrived for my appointment. A very sensitive and painful procedure without anesthesia. Sorry. They're out sick this week. Sorry, I wasn't told until now. Dr. ushered me out the door and said don't come back or else......what does that mean ? A Dr. !!!! VA got me taken care of. New clinic, Dr said 2nd mbb failure showed their next step was not medically necessary. Wrong course of action. My pain, not theirs, for treatments billed to the VA. They new clinic got me help on my 1st visit, reviewed my mri's and actually talked to me, asked questions, actually is getting me the help I've waited on for months. I told all my extended family here in Tucson. This Dr. needs held accountable and the clinic will be investigated, I pray. read more

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with doctors. Once again I was told I either get back injections or they would no longer prescribe me pain medication. The pain injections do not work and have made my pain worse. I have repeatedly explained this, however they do not care. I either go along with procedures that they deem necessary or they refuse to give me pain medication. Today, I was told to find another provider, because I wasn't listening to the doctor and refused to have yet another round of injections. I did listen, but he didn't seem to care that they did not work. It appears that their money is in procedures. Prescribing medication is not a money maker. read more

Husband was with pima pain clinic for 5 or 6 years. Always tried new things to help his pain. Followed all the rules and NEVER abused his medication. Tried a new pain patch in Oct. Was in the hospital the next day. Couldn't bteathe. When he was released, pima pain said lets try the patch again. Husband did. Next day we called DR. Anabi, husbands breathing was awful. Dr. Anabi said get that patch off and go to ER. Spent another week in the hospital. Went back to pima pain clinic. He just wanted his 5mg pills, he could control those without any problems. Somedays 1, somedays 2. They told him they wouldn't treat him anymore, and they would tell everyone not to treat him. Imagine a 71 year old man, being treated like this! Nice Doc, paid my bill on 4/25/25, still receiving PAST DUE NOTICE on 6/16, called them to see why this was so and the accounting department hung up on my call. Nice, effective, good business practice... not. I called them back and their accounting department apologized for the disconnect, requested I provide proof of payment which I confirmed was made on a specific date two months back. after living with chronic pain for 45 years, I was thrilled to find out that Dr Annabi would be able to stop the chronic, acute pain in my left leg from severe neuropathy. It only took two weeks for me to be able to see the doctor for the first time and I was scheduled for an MRI the next week. I am so happy! I have never been more disappointed with any medical facility. More than here. All they care about is getting paid for the fourth time. I've come in for an office visit and they tried to charge me an additional $5. It's only $5, but that's not really the point now, is it? They always correct it But once again, it makes me wonder how many people don't question it. And just pay it i've had to have the same nerve in my neck cautarized twice because they botched the first procedure. I had to go through the entire process again. Because they couldn't admit that they made a mistake. They got it right the second time when you call down here, one of the first thing that they tell you is that we are experiencing heavier than normal call volume, for 3 years come on. Thats really poor management i relate to one of my appointments due to an Uber. They have a $100 no show fee here which I had to pay in order to see the doctor again. Roughly a month after paying that the day of one of my appointments, I got a phone call saying that they had an office emergency. And they had to reschedule me. They want 36 hours advance warning. They gave me like 5 naturally when I asked if I was going to be reimbursed, anything I was told to kiss off If you can find any other place to go I would suggest going now.These people suck read more

I guess this is the sad future of pain management in the United States. The atmosphere is devoid of any real empathy for the people who come to PPC for treatment of pain. You will not receive any meaningful care until you have given over some co-pay dollars and contributed to the PCC coffers so don't expect to feel better for a few months, at least. My mother was scheduled for a 30 min procedure at the Broadway location her appointment time was 4:30. We arrived early to make sure we weren't late. By 5pm she was called back to sit and wait. The medical assistant was the only person I saw during the visit who told us the iv would be started shortly by 6pm and 7pm still nothing.(to me "shortly" isn't 2 hours).This is extremely difficult for someone in pain! If anyone should understand that it should be the PAIN CLINIC !?! I stepped outside to use the phone and wasn't able to get back in or check on her due to office closed at 5. I had to call emergency line twice to find out what was going on. Over 4hrs later I got the call to drive around to back door to pick her up. Don't bother with Pima Pain Center. The Dr knew my medication was due and scheduled me for two pain injections and didn't call in my pain meds. When they found out my insurance wasn't going to cover it and I would be out of meds by the weekend they called and said they were sorry they couldn't take me in. And left me suffering. They had 4 weeks to check on these things with my insurance and get back to me. Very unprofessional and they don't care about your pain if this is how you get treated. If it weren't for the few compassionate nurses (you see them for 95% of your appts at PPC) like Tina and Aimee Ramos I would've left years ago, but they at least made the neglectful treatment and the arrogant/pompous, crass attitude from certain Drs there somewhat bearable. If you want to be gaslit, dismissed and flat out lied to this is the place! If you are neurodivergent in any way I highly urge you to reconsider your choice in providers if you don't want them labeling you as a "difficult/non compliant patient" simply for speaking directly and/or calling them out when they drop the ball, make false promises, put incorrect information into your legally binding medical chart, or trying to gaslight you into believing their twisted version of events (despite every call being recorded). read more

I've been a patient for about 7 years now. I did everything they ever requested to include getting imaging done, signing up for and attending physical therapy, having radio frequency ablations done and passing every urine test I ever took. My last appointment, my nurse practitioner was acting very odd. Come to find out she either left the company voluntarily or was terminated. They sent me up with some medical doctor who seemed less than qualified to address a superficial cut much less be prescribing pain meds. They terminated me at that first appointment after they got rid of my nurse practitioner. They freely prescribe opioids and possibly get some people addicted, only to terminate them cold turkey. Just reading the reviews here ought to tell you all you need to know. Postscript - I believe the doctor's name who I found incompetent is Yan Yang while the nurse practitioner's name was Christina Turknett. Again I don't know if she left a voluntarily or was terminated by the company. Post post script - They obviously have a position at each facility called patience advocate. Absolutely ridiculous. These people have no interest in looking at the patient's position in any dispute. Again, look at the reviews. read more

I have been going to Pima Pain Center for about 4 years now. I have always been treated with respect and courtesy. I have been treated at both Broadway Offices. Both offices are very professional, clean and business appropriate. They have a very friendly and calming atmosphere. The office staff and personnel are very courteous, helpful, and professional. I was a little apprehensive about my first time into a Pain Management Center rather than having my individual Doctors treating me for my different needs. It is a different way to go about pain management. At first, I saw a different person every visit. All were very helpful and treated me with respect and compassion. From the previous medical history and treatment that I had brought into the Pima Pain Center, we were trying to design a new program with the treatments and medications. I finally was making great strides with Christina Turknett. Between the two of us, we established a treatment program of the medical procedures they provided and including medications for pain as I needed. I had several other medical problems as COPD, Pulmonary hypertension, Blood clots in Lungs and other medications that I had to always take into consideration. Christina was very extremely helpful to me. With her assistance I was able to have treatments (injections, ablations, etc.) done. They did come with CT Scans and X-rays and a Nerve function test done as well as medications to get me back on sort of an even keel of tolerance and ability to function daily with minimum pain. I have many allergies to various things, mainly medications! I have learned over the years which ones and i have to be proactive in my treatments to hopefully make sure of no allergic reactions! The staff here is very helpful and has always listened to my needs and assisted me in the best decisions and choices for me. I was extremely disappointed in learning that Christina Turknett would no longer be there, I trusted her completely, and I truly believed she was doing what was best for me, as her plans were helping me. I have found another staff member that is helping me as well. Brooke Ruth, she is very helpful. Also, Dr Yang has done several tests and procedures for me. I think I am getting back on the right track again. I have found all the staff members to be very courteous, helpful, compassionate, and professional. I thank them for that! I look forward to all the help and assistance to get that help, that they provide to me. I thank everyone for their help and assistance! The two offices I have been to are very nice, modern, clean and professional looking. I love the beautiful bouquets of flowers; they give a bright and cheery feeling! Stop....don't continue with these people. Go anywhere else!! I'm trying to pick my mouth up off the floor because I can't even believe what I have been through with this organization, and I didn't even make it to an actual doctor who was interested in helping me. I was told that I fell through the cracks because of the holidays. My initial referral sat on a fax machine for three days, is what I was told, and only progressed because I called. That should've been my first red flag and I should've stopped at that point. I'm pretty sure it's a HIPAA violation to allow patient information to just sit in front of anyone for three days. First, I was treated like I was a drug addict on the initial appointment, where they screen you with a urine test, which I was fine with. I marked on my paperwork that I wasn't interested in narcotics in the first place, but they will sure treat you as if you are after pills. I have been in debilitating pain for five months with shoulder and back issues....zero pain management. I was/am in psychological distress, as anyone would be, which is why I decided to try this place. I would expect a place like this to recognize that as one of the reasons for why a patient would come here. I was also told that the initial doctor wasn't very good at relating to emotional people or women (yes, that was said verbatim) in pain, and boy, was that the truth.... what a jerk!! After all of this with the initial appt., they missed reviewing my most current x-rays, so after I told them that I had current x-rays, was then told that I would be scheduled for an MRI. I didn't hear from anybody for a week, and when I called, I was told that they needed a neck x-ray along with the other x-rays I've had.... no one bothered to call to even help me schedule. So my husband needs to get monthly pain medication. So we have to go on a monthly basis for refills. Now mind you my husband is dependent on oxygen and is I a wheelchair. We did have an appointment and we waited an hour and half for the doctor past the appointment time. Then they say he needs to do a urine test. By now he is almost out of oxygen and do not know if he'll make it home. So we had to leave and then come back in the afternoon to do the urine test! We have been going for almost 2 years! Another reoccurring issue is you make your next appointment after your visit there. Every month I am told they have no openings and they are creating more time slots and will call us within the week. Guess what! They never call! So I call and they can never get him in at a time I can make. I go through this EVERY MONTH! Where do I even begin... First off, dr wong is nuts. She told me repeatedly that the percocet I have been on for 3 years with zero issues makes me "stupid". Lady, the traumatic brain injury I suffered in my accident didnt even get that done and I have never read a side effect to a medication making anyone "stupid". Secondly you never see the same doctor twice or even the same nurse practitioner. Pretty absurd. Thirdly, ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS GIVE YOU EPIDURALS. Even when you tell them it dont work they ALWAYS come back to EPIDURALS like everyone is in labor that goes there, even men. If that treatment dont work why keep recommending it? They just recommend ANYTHING that you can afford. Try this, try that never once saying anything will actually work. Just guessing every single time. Lastly, as a chronic pain sufferer, I have never felt like a drug addict until i went here. They treat everyone like a drug addict. Urine tests every single visit. That's a first for me. No refills unless you go every month and piss in a cup. Methadone clinics dont even do that. Long story short, I dont have anything good to say about this dump or the people that work there, it's a pill mill and a insurance fraud scam. I NEVER once had theses issues in San Diego. Ever. This review is actually for the location at 6840 E Broadway near the corner of Broadway & Jessica. I had an appointment yesterday at 11am that I had to schedule more than a month in advance for an epidural injection for pain relief in my back. I completed my online check in several days in advance and indicated I would want the IV sedation. I'm sure that 99 out of 100 patients getting an epidural request sedation. I have had IV sedation at this location at least 3 times in the past when I've had the radial nerve blocks. I arrived 15 minutes early and the young lady checking in patients was not someone I'd seen before. She looked barely out of her teens. When I told her I'd be paying for my sedation, she informed me they no longer perform IV sedation at this location (where I'd had it at least 3x in the past) and now I'd have to wait for the 4601 Broadway location to contact me for an appointment. AND, she told me they now do sedation on TUESDAYS ONLY! I'm sure with that restriction, I'll be waiting until October or November for a new appointment. Of course I'm still waiting for that call from the Broadway location to give me an appointment. Then I informed her that they should also now have a referral for me for another type of pain injection from my neurologist. She confirmed that they did have the referral so I requested an appointment for that to happen. She said I first had to have an appointment for a consultation with the doctor. I explained to her that during another follow up appointment abour 2 weeks ago,preceeding my epidural injection, I'd had an appointment with Dr Mejia several days after the neurologist sent the referral and we talked about the procedure my neurologist wanted done as well as the epidural procedure. But the referral just hadn't come into their system yet so no appointment for that could be scheduled until they received it but they would call me when they got it. I never received a call. She said she didn't have access to doctor's notes so out of exasperation, I asked her to schedule an appointment for the consultation. She wouldn't do it and told me I could just talk to the doctor when I was having my epidural. Clearly, she has no idea what happens during the procedures because the nurses are the only ones you talk with while they are prepping you. When they have you all ready, the doctor walks in, doesn't hardly say boo, they inject the sedation, the doctor does his thing, and the next thing you know, it's all over, the doctor's long gone and the nurses are getting you up and out of there. I guess I'll try and call for an appointment and pray I don't get that idiot girl again. My biggest burn is, how difficult would it have been for them to query their system for all patients scheduled for epidurals or any other procedure that most people request sedation for and inform them that IV sedation is no longer performed at the 6840 E Broadway location? They send reminders almost daily starting about 5 days before your appointment until you've completed your online check in so I'm sure they have the technology to find those patients in their system and pay them the courtesy of informing them of their policy change. I didn't appreciate having to drive all the way to their office only to be told that the procedure I'd been waiting over a month to be done couldn't be done if I needed to be sedated. If they'd had the courtesy to inform me sooner, I'd be much further ahead in the queue to get an appointment at 4601 E Broadway. This is just total BS! read more

This place has employees that have no clue what they're doing. I would recommend any place other than here if you need help with your pain, and if you would like to get an appointment scheduled on time each month so you don't run out of medicine. After 1 year and 3 months I got a bill for my co pay. Anyone who has used PPC knows they don't see anyone who doesn't pay first. I called and was told it's up to me to prove I payment. Dr. Annabi is one of the best doctors I have ever had....and I was SO thrilled to hear he was still in Tucson with state of the art clinic. He stopped my 2008 migraines in just one very unusual procedure, fast forward almost 14 years and he was able to find where my problem was. He has a lot of 'teachable moments', he is brilliant, he does his research, he is kind and though I just started with this awful back, hip, leg pain from being an athlete I am learning now what I can and shouldn't do for it. I too am a published researcher from working and teaching at the UofA so I have the utmost respect for great doctors, and in my book, he is a 10. I had kyphoplasty at the Broadway office and am very pleased with the care I received and the results of the surgery, so I give them high marks for that. I went to an office closer to my home for the follow up treatment, but the quality of care went downhill fast. I needed to be scheduled for additional procedures for another issue, but one of the front office staff was extremely disrespectful during the entire process. She was most unprofessional, laughing into the telephone for several minutes, while I stood there, and yelling at me quite rudely when I turned to walk away towards the door. I paused and gave her the opportunity to rectify the situation, but she continued to yell, so I ended up walking out. I'm returning to my referring orthopedic doctor for further treatment. They do amazing kyphoplasty, but I don't recommend them for anything else. read more

On 3-7-2023 I had an appointment with DR.Shiller and He was very good. However, their accounting department charged me TWICE my Insurance co-pay. I have called their office MANY time for them to reimburse me for the extra co-pay, and so far 5-10-2023 I have not received the refund. Is this how they treat new patience???. I would NEVER recommend this treatment center to anyone!!! Oh, they state they owe me the refund. But nothing to date. I would consider their behavior FRAUD!!! read more
