Great work. The owner can work miracles with a tractor. If you're deciding between bids and it comes down to an immaterial cost difference, I'd choose this company. The the cost difference is material, but you can afford it, I'd also choose this company. This is not the first or last project Pimentel will do for me. This is just the first one that I took a bunch of pictures of. He did other things for us but I didn't take pictures. So, this driveway looks like a small project, but as a DIYer I can tell you he corrected a ton of issues, and has helped in many places on our property. Paving is what he does, but you really need a skilled grader, and someone who can just see if something is level or not. He is able to easily manipulate the ground and create a quality groundscape better than most people who have helped me in the past. You are hiring this company for their grading ability, quality of work, and longevity. Many future issues will be prevented if you hire this company. read more

It's been more than five years since Pimentel repaved our community street here in Mill Valley. We were extremely pleased with their work when they did the job. And this many years into it and it is holding up beautifully. The team at Pimentel did an amazing job for our neighborhood group. We were in a situation where the county did not maintain our street so the 28 homeowners here banded together and funded the paving job ourselves. It was a little complicated since every resident had to make a contribution, and the Pimentel team were very accommodating and understanding working with us. Our paving job was a little tricky too, as there is a lot of drainage that needed to be addressed. The guys on the Pimental team totally understood the situation and addressed it beautifully. Our street now drains well and the quality of the pavement is holding up extremely well. I would recommend Pimental to anyone who has a paving project of any size. They were professional, courteous, and communicated well. They showed up when they said they would, were extremely conscientious and finished the job beautifully. We have had a lot of different contractors working on our home over the last several years and Pimentel was one of the few that far exceeded our expectations. We have a long and steep driveway that had not been paved for 20+ years. Joe bid the job quickly and walked through the details and followed up with a detailed quote. We did get other bids but there was never a question that we would pick Pimentel if the price was competitive. Joe and his team spent three long and hard days working on the project. We were able to watch the efficiency of the team work together to create a masterpiece. Repair performed first followed by asphalt overlay. The edges are crisp and straight, the top even and smooth. The team went the extra mile and graded out a parking area and a side access road. They evened out the sides and made sure the ditches were deep enough. They did the job as if it was the bosses house. I recommended my contractor friend to use them and he is currently scheduled to do his home. We will not call another company the next time and will only use Pimentel (We suspect that the quality work will not need them for many more years). The only bad thing is that they did such a great job that we don't want to drive on it and get it dirty. read more

It doesn't get any better than working with the Pimentels!! Customer service and quality of work is superior. Ours was a difficult job, a private street with 25 homeowners. After getting bids from several contractors, the Pimentel bid stood out as the best bang for the buck. We also liked the fact that it is a family owned business with great reviews. It took 2 years to get all homeowners on board and Carolyn held our hand the entire time. Both trucking and asphalt prices had gone up, but the Pimentels held their 2 year old price. On paving day, Joe arrived with excellent equipment and the crew worked together like a well oiled clock. Watching them put on finishing touches was like watching artists at work. If you are considering asphalt replacement or paving, I would highly recommend Pimentel Paving. After reaching out to several well-known larger companies with limited or zero response, I found Pimentel through Yelp. I was happily surprised when the owner, Joe, responded right away. He set up an initial consultation/estimate and he showed up as promised. That's a rarity these days. That excellent level of communication continued through the entire process. From the initial consultation to replace the existing asphalt to recommendations/advice/options for edging, curbing and sealing, Pimentel's was a pleasure to work with. I eventually did receive a couple of additional quotes from others (one without actually coming out to look!) but they were not as detailed and Joe still beat those prices. This was a fairly large residential driveway project with a turnaround area and something we had never done before. Joe was VERY patient to answer all my questions, give me options and explain the process to me in an easy to understand way. Joe, along with is team worked extremely hard and we felt they treated the project as if it was their own residence. They arrived on time, finished without delay and left the work area perfectly cleaned up. It was a late season install just prior to winter rains. Joe re-graded some of the area and we now have excellent drainage. We are planning to have them return to seal soon. To sum it up, we would use Pimentel Paving again in a heartbeat. They are honest, fair in price and go above and beyond on the installation. We really appreciated the planning, coordination and work ethic of this team. read more

Was not impressed with Pimentel Paving's customer service. I looked online to see which paving companies are "Diamond Certified" and noticed that Pimentel was. Therefore I decided to call them to start the process of having our private street checked and sealed. We are a small complex in Windsor with 12 homes. I left a message on Friday (January 24th). I left my name, purpose of my call and my cell number, with a request for a call back to setup an appointment. I never received so much as a call or voice mail. I then called again on Tuesday (28th) and this time I reached a young female (sounded like a teen) who picked up the phone and said, "Pimentel". I again, stated my purpose, that I was looking to have our street checked for cracks and sealed and asked her to schedule an appointment. She said she couldn't but that she would pass along the message. I have never received a call back. ** 2/5/14 ** UPDATE So on 2/4/14 I received a call from Joe apologizing and mentioned the Yelp review. He said that my phone number was taken down wrong and they played the message again and got the correct number. I also received a call from Carolyn on 2/5/14, sorry about missing me, as they are very busy and dealing with tax time. She also mentioned the Yelp review. I appreciate the calls so just upped my rating but still no live contact. Just called all three of their numbers and got messages on all (it is 3:45pm on Wednesday). I left messages. So we are officially playing phone tag. ** 2/10/14 ** UPDATE I finally was able to get in touch with Mr. Pimentel. He was apologetic, however he explained that getting out to give me an estimate was not possible at this time, due to a busy schedule and then a vacation. I suggested he call me when he became available. In the meantime, I received an email from Carolyn Pimentel asking for me to please reconsider my rating of 2 stars, especially since no work has been performed to rate. I understand where she is coming from and respect her point. I am disappointed with outcome still having no real resolution or scheduled estimate from apparently the only Diamond Certified paving company in the County. So I will up the rating another star, because I don't actually have a problem with the quality of work, just the ability to get a timely phone call and estimate. read more

I'd like to commend Joe and his crew for a great job that was done on my driveway. It was hard clay with serious washboard and he transformed it into a marvelous work of art. He created a masterpiece, complete with an eye for drainage, as it is a curved, downhill, , driveway which had serious runoff issues in the past. Pimentel Paving repaved my driveway and installed compacted rock on the shoulder of the road in front of my house last week. I can not recommend this company highly enough! There are some very good reasons why they are Diamond Certified. From the start the owners went above and beyond in customer service. They were extremely professional, competent and helpful. I have had some very bad experiences with licensed contractors in the past and Carol Pimentel took the time to show me how to investigate contractors more thoroughly on the State Licensing website. I learned a great deal that will help me avoid unethical companies in the future. I had gotten quotes from three other paving contractors, but none of them were as knowledgeable or professsional as the Pimentels. For example, the contracts the others offered neglected to include important details like the depth of the asphalt to be laid or the type of rock to be compacted. In addition, the Pimentels were the only ones who guaranteed their work. They offered to do a more thorough job and lay a deeper layer of asphalt than any of the other bids for a price that was less than two out of three other bids! They arrived on time, the owner, Joe, was on site through the whole project, the workers were courteous and the job was finished within the time frame promised. They did a beautiful job for a very reasonable price and they guarantee their work, which none of the other paving contractors offered. I wish all contractors I deal with would be of the quality and intergrity of the Pimentels; I would feel a lot less stressed about home improvement projects! Very highly recommended! read more

Pimentel Paving paved my driveway about 4 years ago and did a great job. Each year I contact them to slurry coat my driveway to keep it looking awesome. The people at Pimentel Paving are really friendly and responsive and they do terrific work. I get compliments from everyone on how nice my driveway always looks.
