We visited the Town of Superior​ during the 11th Annual Home and Building tours. I found the…read moreadvertisement from Via magazine by AAA. I bought the tickets online and printed it. When finding out the tickets are no good, the online description of the event did not state that you have to go to ​the Superior Chamber of Commerce office to pick up wrist band and an envelope. Per ticket is $13, plus it comes with discounted tickets to the Renaissance​ Festival and admits​ 2 for 1 at the Boyce Thomson Arboretum​. Superior​, AZ has a ​history of mining and established in the late 1800s​. This review is my experience of the two-day​ events and touring historical buildings. Day 1 of the Home Building Tours: When we got to the ​townsite of Superior (Main St.), we saw people have a map in their hand. We asked a person where they got the map. She told us to ​go to the Chamber of Commerce. We went inside, it was confusing because no one told me that we have to go to the purchase tickets​ table. Good thing, I asked​ and that's I found out that we need a wrist band to tour the houses and building. So, I stopped in other tables I saw the map and behind the map was the events for two days. We chose​​d to​​ do the hiking at the Legends of Superior Trail. It's​ about​ a​ ​ two-hour​ guided hike through the old highway going to Miami-Globe. Pictures​ and a review will follow. In addition, toured the Magma Hotel, which beautifully restored​ inside. There one photography artist that I would recommend to visit, it's not for all. The studio contains black and white photography (contains soft nudity photos). It's up to you how you interpret​ her art. If you talk to the artist you'll understand​ her vision​. The name of the studio is Coleman​n Alley Images. Lastly, we decided to tour the Old Superior High School (which is privately own). Inside the high school is fully furnaced with furniture​ from Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas. The owners made it they're home but now in the present,​ it's an LDS youth retreat gathering. Day 2 of the Home Building Tours: We checked the renovated houses. It was cool to learn about the history of each house​ and to see what people did to preserve​​d the integrity​ of the architecture​. It was a ​day to explore Main Street and check out the downtown restaurants. Overall, the two days exploring the Town of Superior was an ​excellent experience. It's a good day trip and to learn something new about how small towns form in Arizona.

Here in Kearny there is no home delivery of mail but they provide a free PO Box to residence of…read moretown. They are very friendly, like everyone in town, an will help you will all your postal needs. It takes a bit of getting used to the fact that on the weekends you can not get any packages due to the counter being closed. I just stop in a couple times a week to check my box and if I get an alert of a delivery ready for pick up.

There is a Hispanic woman in her 30-40's that started working here in the last 6 months that's…read moremonstrous. I don't know if she just hates her job, or the public but she's seriously the rudest postal employee I've ever met. She never greats customers, she will just shout at them "Whats your box number?!". There have been numerous times that my USPS tracking will say my package is available for pickup and she refuses to even look at my tracking info, or package area for my package. She acts like she's personal memorized every delivery and knows without a doubt that your package is not there, but it actually is. She gaslights customers that their USPS package must be at their home, even though USPS in Kearny doesn't offer home delivery. If you come back later the same day when she isn't running the counter your package will miraculously be there. She seriously has no business being in a public retail position. She obviously hates her job and customers. I wouldn't recommend dealing with her, ask for someone else to assist you.

What a lovely Western Town which transports one back to a different time…read more We visited Tourist Information which is housed in an 1800's adobe building with the most exquisite furniture. Our Tour Guide (I believe his name is Mr. Stoll or Stall - forgive the spelling mistake) was pleasantly engaging, highly informative and an absolute pleasure to be around! We really lucked out. The history of the Town is fascinating and a true Southwestern experience. Hope I've captured it in the pictures.

I don't know much about the Town of Florence, but as an out-of-towner, I do know that it's…read morein-between the 2 major cities of Phoenix and Tucson. It's a secluded area that is definitely up and coming. New homes are popping up everywhere, and Florence has a bunch being built right now by numerous home builders. There isn't much out this way that I know of except a few restaurants, some gas stations and car washes. I hear the prisons in the area once used to be in full swing, but now they are supposedly closing down. Not 100% sure on that, but I'd imagine if they are doing it, they'll be building new homes on that land. There's so much flat land out here, it's really peaceful compared to the busier surrounding cities. You'll need to hit up the Queen Creek area which is a half hour north. That's a bustling area with shops and restaurants, and Costco with a gas station. I think it'll take a few years before this town gets to that level. They don't even have a Target or Walmart here! The closest Walmart I know of is in Coolidge about15-20 minutes away. I guess I'll see what the future has in store for Florence. Right now, it's a quiet area that many young families and professionals are settling into. You might want to check it out if you're interested in buying a home. There's so many popping up, and the newer neighborhoods look really nice!

Don't be surprised it's not a school it is a museum. The volunteer docent walked right out of the…read moredoor and greeted us inside. Unfortunately the place was about to close in five minutes. She was so accommodating and told us "Take your time, I'll stay open a little later for you." My husband and I raced the museum in about 30 minutes. There is so much to see so plan on a few hours. Every corridor and room surprises you with exhibit after exhibit. You can learn about mining, Elected Officials, Mexicans, the San Carlos Apaches, Serbians that migrated from Montenegro. The list can go on, and on. For me personally, I loved stepping into the past of the old school house. School buildings are just not made that way anymore. The plan is to finish the rehabilitation of the building and expand more exhibits on the second floor. The have a lecture series about Women and Mining coming up. It's not often you get to learn about the roles women have taken that are typically male centered jobs. This place is humble and not fancy like some museums I feel it's a perfect reflection of the community. You will learn so much about the local areas history and traditions.
