On 8-20-21; I received an email from Power Tags, Titles and More claiming that one of their customer service reps accidently put my vehicles registration and title in one of their customers names. I have never done business with this company. The email asked me if I was willing to pay my registration fees early due to the mistake. The email came from two Gmail accounts and since I've never done business with this company, I assumed it was spam. I notified the DMV's fraud department which determined that the email, although suspicious, appeared to be legitimate and recommended I work the problem out directly with Power Tags, Titles and More. I started communications with Bridget by email which replied they would cover the cost of the registration renewal since it was their mistake and told me I would receive tags and the new title in the mail. On 8-25-21, I checked my DMV portal noticing that my vehicle was once again registered to me, but the mileage was set to 192598 instead of the original purchase miles of only 314 when the title was issued. I can only assume they set the high mileage to lower the cost of the registration fees. I reached out to Bridget requesting a correction and to make sure my replacement title included the correct mileage information. Bridget verified that they made another mistake and that they would correct the information with the DMV and send out another corrected title. The registration tags arrived, but I never received a new title. The title record number in the DMV portal does not match the title number I have on file. The activity history shows the registration and title(s) correction requests, but I have not received a replacement title as promised. On 9-13-21 I reached out to Bridget requesting an ETA of when I can expect the replacement title; I did not receive a response. On 9-18-21 I reached out to Bridget again asking for an ETA of when I can expect the replacement title; I did not receive a response. On 9-29-21 I reached out to Bridget for the third time to ask for an ETA of when I can expect the replacement title; I have not received a response. On 10-04-21 I once again reached out to Bridget, for the fourth time, asking for an ETA of when I can expect the replacement title; I did not receive a response as of 10-6-21. It is my opinion that this company should not have access to sensitive DMV records due to the carelessness of their customer service representatives. This companies lack of follow through shouldn't be something anyone has to experience. read more
