Needless to say, this was our first stop before the Festival of Lights Parade started. There have been some changes made to the interior since our last visit (another cooler for drinks and misc goodies and a couple shelves of specialty cookies, etc). M Street Baking does offer many delicious treats and tonight we were told of a "secret menu item" - a pita / pasta served in a cup. First I contacted them through Facebook to confirm they were open, and taking orders. i received and immediate response. I called the shop Wednesday and placed my order for pickup on Saturday afternoon. My order was packed and waiting for me. The baker even made us a special order of macarons, as the min order was a dozen. Chef's choice on the flavor. I'm so happy to have been able to order some sweet treats for my hard working guys this Easter.

I haven't found the service to be particularly friendly either which seems unusual for a longstanding mom-and-pop with loyal customers who have been coming for decades (I'm the third Marv's generation in my family). I do think it's sweet how they offer free coffee with any bakery purchase. It's by no means gourmet but it's a nice touch. They also sell some miscellany like cheeses, pickled goods, meats, etc. About half the physical space is all baked goods and the second half is the rest. I can't imagine anyone doing significant shopping here but if you needed an item conveniently you can get it here.
