A great place to take a stroll or hang out. Very relaxing. There is a lighthouse nearby at the Pine Ave Pier. I just looked at it from far away. Didn't bother going there for a walk. There are bunch of restaurants here. Just relaxing and also you can check out parked boats here. Nice.

Beautiful water views, wide walking promenade, family-friendly atmosphere, big name restaurant franchises, boats, a lighthouse, the Queen Mary! What's not to like? If you can stand the $10 valet parking fee, or have a line on another place to park, this is a great place to hang out with the family. We strolled around after our dinner at P.F. Chang's on Sunday evening. Definitely an interesting array of people-watching opportunities. Folks are sporting everything from dressy attire to very comfy/casual. There is a tower structure that overlooks the lighthouse, Queen Mary, and Shoreline Village. The upper level connects to a pedestrian bridge to the rest of Pine Avenue and the Hyatt Regency with its lagoon and swimming pool. Mostly restaurants and a few kiosks with souvenirs. No shopping otherwise. It was lovely as the sun was setting and the city lights were coming on.

Downtown Pine Ave. has all kinds of great places for food and drinks, as well as shops and a great walking distance. Scenic views everything. There's a lighthouse, Ferris wheel (across the street) aquarium and much more! Great place to jog in the mornings. Volunteers stroll the area in red vests to answer questions and give direction! I'm from Miami and I have fallen in love with Long Beach, Cali. Venture off and discover.. Guarantee you won't be disappointed.

What a beautiful spot , to take a walk or just to enjoy the view There's plenty of Restaurants to eat , stores to browse around and Boat rentals for the brave ones who like to have a different view , from the Ocean. The place can be a little cleaner otherwise it's a nice place . Near by you can sit on the grass overseeing The ocean and the pier. Love it .

Peaceful pier at night, still many people hanging around at late night. Nice walk over the lighthouse and beautiful views.

Lots of restaurants and souvenir shops here. A tourist trap of pay photo ops with parrots and pirates. Might be fun with kids but not so much for adults. Went on a hot day so it was not enjoyable, maybe better on a cooler day. Would be much better from sunset onwards.

This a cool little pier to chill, hang out, and people watch. You can view the queen mary across the bay, the lighthouse, and the shoreline village. Be careful, no guard rails. There are a lot of places to sit.

This is a beautiful area with lots of restaurants, activities, a large aquarium, a beautiful lighthouse and just beautiful scenery all together. We were there in a beautiful day and had a very nice walk and met very great people. It's a must do location in Long Beach if you have the time.

One past year, Sun Bum (sunscreen) was a sponsor and held an event at the beach that ended in a movie showing. Some year before that, KCRW held a party in collaboration. This last time, I joined in the free yoga session (with RSVP). Led by Pedal Movement, bike tours are held during this time to visit the murals. The run club I'm involved in throws a couple of the murals in the downtown area being worked on into the running route during this time. Volunteer opportunities are available (such as being on site with the artist making sure they have what they need.) Look out for it next summer!

The weeklong event that originated in Hawaii has expanded out to other parts of the country and world, including its 5th year in Long Beach. I was a bit disappointed the first year or so because they brought in a lot of outside artists when there are so many talented ones here. It also seems as if there is little collaboration between the artists and the places they paint. Businesses offer their walls and artists are given the freedom to create whatever inspires them at the time. Sometimes, the pieces seem random, whereas, others perfectly reflect the feel of the establishments. This year, I was happy to see a lot more local artists represented in the community. Some of them even took the time to collaborate with either the business or Parks & Rec to design pieces that emulate the nature of the places. I live close to Drake Park and was happy to see 3 artists beautifying it by adding more color and character. By request from neighborhood folks, Crisselle Mendiola and Jason Keam added butterflies to match the playground while Bodeck Luna depicted young people shooting hoops along the wall facing the basketball court. Another highlight from Pow! Wow! Long Beach was the closing party in the Promenade. I absolutely loved that KCRW DJs Mathieu Shreyer and Anthony Valadez came and served us some eclectic dance music. I can't wait to see what's in store next year!

We got the Caesar salad which I was let down by; flavor was lacking and the croutons were so hard I thought my tooth would break. We also got the brussel sprouts which were amazing; cooked to perfection and the sauce was phenomenal. We got the mafaldine pasta which hardly tasted like a vodka pasta, I compared the flavor to a thin, unseasoned tomato soup. The pasta itself was great but the base was not. We also got the tagliatelle which made up for the disappointing mafaldine. The pasta was the perfect texture, flavor was amazing, and the fishy shrimp took it to the next level. The included dessert was a panna cotta which was good but nothing to write home about. The interior did not feel like an authentic Italian restaurant and was drab/dry. Typical white/gray interior that takes away the authenticity of a restaurant. Lastly, there were several large flies, which I understand may not the restaurants fault but one did land in my wine which they did quickly replace. I would definitely think twice about coming back here and would only order the brussel sprouts and tagliatelle. Staff was nice and friendly.

Everyone knows about mother's beach with the clam water just along the bay. But across the water, this little hidden spot with its cute picturesque view of the waterfront and beautiful homes. It's tucked inside the community of Alamitos Heights along the Marina. There's a parking lot beforehand where you'll have a little walk which isn't much. If you know where the Pete Archer Rowing Center is, then it's basically there. There's a little dirt path behind the center which leads you to the entrance of the trail. It's not a big place but a cute little path that shows you beautiful homes and plants along the way. A good 15 min or so if you walk leisurely taking your time around the whole path. But take your time so you can fully enjoy it. There's also docks that you can walk onto looking out over the water. I didn't know that it's a sanctuary where oysters are habitat. The path is along the back of some homes so be respectful as it's someone's property and leave it the way you saw it, clean. There's benches places along the way to have a seat and just take it in. Native plants growing wild but beautifully preserved. Just taking the time and enjoying everything was quite nice. A quiet place that you didn't even know was here. Loads of flowers starting to blooms at the moment. Also with flowers comes the butterflies. Plus as it's part of the bay, the water was so calm and clear. People were kayaking and paddle boarding while we were there. The view of the boats and homes were beautiful but you're there for the path. A simple beautiful walk with nature. Man made nature but beautiful. Afterwards, you could sit and enjoy the water view along the path back to your car.
