I stopped in tonight from Iowa with my parents. The service was first off horrible. It took almost 15 minutes just to get water. I ordered a 3 cheese panni, that tasted like shit. Was there any cheese in it? It tasted like fish, my university cafe made better food. The big catch here is when we complained to the waitress she didn't offer something else, nor did she refund us the money. She charged us for it, and made excuses for her food and service. If you are ever going to Tupper Lake, please don't go here... You will be disappointed. I'm sure your mom is a better cook. read more

The dinner here was fabulous! Our whole party of 6 were impressed by the delicious food & friendly service. They happily waited on us...even with our late arrival. Are you an out-of-towner, but want to really feel like a real Tupper Lake local? Have dinner at The Pine Grove, which is probably one of the most authentic Tupper Lake restaurants. It's a local town-y favorite, especially with the elder crowd (which is how the demographics tilt). If you want to see how Tupper Lake looks and eats, this is the place to go. It's half restaurant, half "ethnographic research" museum. And, like any museum, don't expect the food to be top-notch. But that's certainly part of the experience. If you think that guy is a bit of a douche, then go have dinner at The Pine Grove! It is one of the most authentic Tupper Lake restaurants! Each dish is a homemade recipe, hand prepped, and served in diner fashion. Coupled with the casual atmosphere and always friendly hostess and staff, the Pine Grove is a relaxing hometown favorite with real Americana dining. If you'd like to unwind and have a bite to eat, or maybe even share drinks with your friends, this is the place to go. It's half restaurant, half bar, and all atmosphere! This is a great place to stop no matter what the occasion. (Also don't forget to visit the Wild Center and Adirondack Museum if you're visiting! They have otters! :D) The Pine Grove's food is top notch. Stop in sometime and you'll see that that's certainly the experience! The chili chicken quilles are to die for, the veal parmigiana is always cooked to perfection, and if the evening calls for a little celebration, have some chilled white wine with buttered garlic scallops, or a nice draught and a NY strip. Grab a deli style sandwich or meatball sub on a cold day, and if you've never had the chocolate lava cake, bring your appetite next time. You'll be glad you did. The liquor selection is also worth a look as well, so if you and your old buddies want to share a nice glass of scotch at the end of the night while you reminisce, the waitresses are even nice enough to call you a cab. My husband and I ate at Pine Grove restaurant and the waitress was great, very nice and would check with us if we needed anything, we could not ask for better service. The food was top notch, we had their smoked barbeque pork ribs, and I have not had them that good since I moved from the south, the coleslaw was good and the fries were not greasy.
