We arrived on time to our vet appointment to establish care for 3 dogs and 2 cats. The intake went well until we were told the animals would be examined out of our presence. We had not even met the vet and were expected to hand over our fur babies to a complete stranger. We asked if the exams and shots could be done in the room for intake as it had all the amenities already including a sharps disposal container. It was explained that they have everything needed in the back. The tech then asked for Maize so she could get her Rabies shot, it was Clarice that needed the Rabies shot not Maize. This was too concerning to let this vet clinic be in charge of our fur babies health. The only good thing is the clinic refunded our deposit. read more

Brought my 10 week old puppy to this vet and Dr Krunk treated her great. She went over the exam with me and the shots my puppy received. Dr. Krunk also spoke with me about preventative maintenance and future visits. She was very informative and helpful throughout the whole process. The front staff was friendly as well. Poorly managed by Lindsey. Staff is not trained to respond to customer needs to have their animals properly treated. Kylia the receptionist should be fired. I came with my son's dog to have her nails clipped at 3pm. Kylia said her appointment was at 3:30. My son was at the dentist. I left and came back. After 45 minutes of being jerked around with the dog outside in a hot truck. I was told my son would need to call or text to give permission. I tried to contact him, however, he was unavailable. I had to leave and was told to reschedule. The nails really needed to be cut. They could crack and bleed. Someone could have at least gone out to the truck to examine the condition of her nails. There were five staff people on duty. They did have an emergency with a cat who later died. It didn't take the entire staff to care for the dying cat. My son's dog is named Jixer and should have been seen. read more

Solid vet care and their office is very well run. These people really care about you and your animals. They treated my past pup and treat my current pup. Always excellent care and service. I was lucky I had them to turn to at the end of my last pup's life. Dr Crunk helped me through letting her go when we got to the point where there'd be no other ending. The staff was also amazing, including Kelly. I can't understand any reviewer saying negative things here about this clinic or Kelly... it just doesn't add up. I was overcharged $445 for first puppy appointments, and the provider did not discuss or gain my approval before providing services I did not ask for (flu vaccine, other supplements, charge for future appointments). I returned the next day to inquire and review the charges and was given a refund for services I was "mistakenly" charged for. This Vet office lacks full transparency and I'd venture to guess they pull this quite often. The receptionist knew exactly why I came in and quickly refunded the money, as if this has been done before. After receiving a refund, I received a letter in the mail a couple days later (dated the day I obtained a refund) advising they would no longer be serving my dogs (due to decreased staffing). I highly doubt this is the reason- they just couldn't get over on us. Very unprofessional! DO NOT let them take advantage of you!! Go to Upper Ridge instead. Better prices, better care, and transparency are qualities I appreciate in vet care. I switched the same day, so thanks for "dropping" my dogs, but I'd already switched. Not interested in Pine Grove Vet'a dishonesty anyway. read more

I don't usually leave reviews but my experience here was so terrible I thought I would share.After making an appointment over three weeks ahead of time to have my new puppy neutered the rude receptionist "Kelly" tells my gf I never made an appointment.This was an outright lie as I had confirmed my appointment with them the day before then when I called her for an explanation she hangs up on me repeatedly just picking up the phone and hanging it up as if she were a child.I will never be returning and suggest that others don't take their pets here as well.It was one of the most unprofessional experience's I have ever had.The receptionist "Kelly"is so unprofessional and rude.It's a shame because I have taken pets here before and had good experiences with the vet technicians but unfortunately because of the way Kelly treated me I will never return or recommend this vet. read more

I had taken over care of a senior Staffordshire terrier who had completely captured my heart. She was good as far as shots, so I hadn't really searched for a vet for her. I called because she suddenly had an area on her chest that was filling up with fluids. While I would have spent any amount of money to get more time with her, reality was..she was 15. I called a d explained the situation and was able to take a cancellation for that afternoon. The vet listened to everything I said and checked Candy with such care and compassion. We discussed a plan, and put it into place. She understood that I wasn't expecting a miracle, but wanted what time we could have with no pain. She quickly drained off the abscess and gave her antibiotics and an appointment for the following week. She said you'll know when it's time, and you'll know what to do. Candy made it to her 16th birthday, and then she smiled her beaming smile and she slipped onto her next chapter. I didn't need that second apointment. I called to cancel, and started losing it while telling the receptionist. She cried too. They sent a lovely card and recognized this girl that meant the world to me. I recently adopted a puppy a d am happy to know that Dr. Crunk and her wonderful staff will be there to see my Lucy. Compassionate and caring. read more

Took my mastiff here a month ago because he was sick and this was his vet. He had lost 30lbs and was weak. He did check up and bloodwork and said he couldn't find anything. I asked if he had cancer and he saw no sign. I put my mastiff down today he had prostate cancer that spread all over his body. If I ever got another pet I wouldn't take it here. Maybe I should have had more tests done somewhere else sooner but I trusted his opinion. My best friend is gone now and don't think this place was the best place to take my boy. read more

We drive an extra 30 to 45 minutes to bring our dogs here for their yearly checkups, shots, and care this vet offers. The staff and veterinarians are all "with it" and get the job done without us feeling like we are cattle moving through the motions. The courtesy they extend to us is wonderful... but the care and love they show our animals (two big dogs) is priceless and wonderful. Our boys, Buddy and Beau, are excited about coming inside everytime! Oh, and until we fenced in a huge backyard... our boys always looked forward to being in their doggy hotel! :) Their kennel is a great facility with dog walks and daily visits from staff! I would highly recommend her. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I am disabled and they offered to help with getting my pets into the car. I'm not usually compelled to write a review about a business I haven't actually visited but I feel so strongly about this that I want it documented about how uncaring this Vet practice is. It was 4:00 pm on Saturday and my dog got a foxtail in his eye and was in distress. I called Acorn Hills Vet Clinic at a recommendation of my neighbor and they were great, however it was after hours and the ER fee was $155.00. So I decided to call Pine Grove because they were still open until 6:00. I was told they were all booked and sorry, they couldn't help me. I have never heard such disregard in my life when you are dealing with an animal in distress! They couldn't have cared less and didn't even offer to try to fit us in! Needless to say, I rushed Mac down to Acorn Hills where in less than 30 minutes were able to get Mac all fixed up and with so much compassion and care, I didn't even care that I had to pay the ER fee. Never, ever, will I even call Pine Grove Vet Clinic again, they should be ashamed of themselves!! read more

We switched to this clinic because our 12 yr old dog just got too stressed out going to Jackson Creek Vet. She's been there 3 times in the last 6 months and has yet to be visibly shaken. They are great! The place looks and feels more like a home so I think that helps. The way they do things just really work for us: -The examination room is huge, -we are taken into the room by the doctor, not a tech and left to wait forever for the doc, -all blood draws, etc are done in the exam room so you can see what they're doing to your animal. -while waiting for a surgery, she was allowed to roam with other friendly dogs rather than being put in a cage/kennel (she hates those). Friendly, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices, and not scary for animals!!! read more

Dr, Rico and staff are EXCEPTIONAL!!! I just moved up to Pine Grove and took my 8 year old "pup" in yesterday to have bunches of left over staples removed (she recently had GDV surgery.) They were so good with her, Dr. got all the teeny, weeny staples out (no easy chore as she had to lay down on the floor under her tummy) and maneuver to get them all. On top of that they even trimmed her nails and she let them!!!! Extremely friendly, I found no one rude (not sure where that comment came from) in fact I found them very professional. So glad I found them, highly recommended and they carry my dogs prescription food (Thank God!) My "pup" is usually highly anxious even walking into a vet office, she was so good, I am so impressed. I love Pine Grove Veterinery Clinic! Dr. Clay and the entire staff are always smiling and courteous and our dogs love them! I will continue taking my pets there as I'm confident they will receive the best care. In addition, they have a kennel and, for the first time in my life, I used a kennel for a pet last year. I was concerned as I'd never left my little pomeranian with anyone and she's a real momma's girl! But when I picked her up, expecting her to be VERY happy to see me, just looked at me like, "Oh, I see your back. Let me play a few minutes longer and I'll be right with you." What?!? I had to laugh as she seemed so very happy there. Now I have an alternative if we do need to travel again and can't take our dogs with us. Excellent service!!! I went to them because my former vet clinic had told me they were too busy to see me and that I might want to try somewhere else. Pine Grove Vet took awesome care of my puppy and offer me the generic heart guard. My other vet never mentioned there was a cheaper brand or even gave me a choice. I called because this place had the best reviews for any veterinarian in or near our area. I (our dog) was not a current patient and Laura got us in right away. She was able to fit us in for a late afternoon appointment. Our Freddy was diagnosed with cancer and we weren't sure how long he would have but the staff and Dr Clay were awesome! Going over all of our options and treatment plans as well as honest costs to treat Fred we decided not to put him through extensive tests and surgery that ultimately save his life. Within a month the cancer had spread to his liver. He had declined quickly. Reluctantly we as a family decided it would be best to have Fred put to sleep. It was a very difficult decision. Dr Clay was very compassionate and caring in offering the best advice he could to people in our situation. We decided to have him cremated. When Sarah called to let us know that Fred had come back, she said exactly that. I found that to be so heartwarming and considerate. I have never had a vet clinic a veterinarian or their staff treat us with such compassion and respect. I highly recommend this vet clinic and Dr Clay to anyone looking for care for their fur babies. To us Fred wasn't just a dog, nor did we feel that he was to Dr Clay and the staff at Pine Grove Vet. He was a people, our people. He will be surely missed. I can not say thank you enough to Laura for getting us in when we so needed to be seen, for crying with us and all the warm loving hugs. You made all the difference to us! Dr Clay for always being very open and honest with us and helping guide our decision about what was best for Fred. To Sarah for her warm smile and kindness. It will never ever be forgotten. Dr Cockrill and his entire staff are unbelievably caring and know their stuff. They handled about 20 office visits leading up to my dog's leg amputation. Instead of just keeping him in a cage while he was recovering, they let him sleep on a blanket in their office, so he had constant attention. When we board our dogs there, they often fetch them from the kennel for lap time during business hours. They don't "upsell" things that aren't necessary and are very affordable. They feel like family. read more

Dr. Cockrill and his staff are outstanding!! Our Siberian Husky, Gaia, recently had a tumor on her leg. Dr. Clay was worried about being able to close the wound after the tumor was excised due to it's location. Not only did he close the 6+" wound, surprising even himself, he did it in such a way that our girl was recuperated in two weeks (including her 2 abscessed teeth he pulled at the same time). Dr. Clay has been our vet for 10+ years. He saved our cat twice from devastating UTI infections. He and his staff are loving, caring, and totally professional. They are also honest, giving the pet owner options, and have always treated us and our pets with respect. (It's reciprocal). We wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

I have been using Dr. Clay and PGVC for over a year with my new puppies. He and his staff are wonderful. They are always helpful and there when I have needed them for all the various puppy issues. My most recent experience was with my smallest pup Scully as she could not stop vomiting. Dr. Clay took wonderful care of her and looked into ALL reasons the issue was happening. He took the time to explain all the various options and costs with the different scenarios. Luckily his first thought was the correct diagnosis and she made a speedy recovery. It is unfortunate others have had different experiences, but mine experience has personally been excellent. He has a wonderful staff and also has great prices... which helps when you have lots of pets! read more

When I called both times they put me on hold forever. Then the lady was so rude when I told her what I was calling about. I was asking how much it would cost to treat my dog. Made me feel horrible for not having the money up front to pay for it since they have no payment plan. Told me "why don't you call your family, don't you having a savings account, I'm sure your mom will help" my mom passed away so I found it rude that she just assumed my mother would pay my pet bill. Then I told her I'm sorry I don't have the money right now she got so upset with me. read more

Pine Grove is a small community and one would expect a small businesses to treat customers with courtesy and good manners, unfortunately, Dr Clay Cockrill has neither. Yes, the office personnel are nice but there is always a new group of staff which leads me to believe he is as difficult to work for as he is to deal with as a customer. I recently took my dog in with blood in her urine, a fever and extreme lethargy. He sent her home with antibiotics stating " see how she does and then we can go from there". He stated he would call in 5 days to evaluate. Fourty eight hours later she was sicker so I took her to another vet for a second opinion as to her condition. She was hospitalized for 3 days with autoimmune hemolitic anemia. Dr Cockrill DID NOT call to check on her as he stated but HE DID CALL ME to yell at me over the phone as to why I felt I needed a second opinion. The arrogance I encountered from him was far beyond unprofessional. I was correct to challenge his diagnosis as his treatment could very well have injured or killed her as she was also suffering pancreatitis. As the owner of the animal, I have the right to determine the best care for my animal. His phone call to challenge my decision was childish and unprofessional and I suspect, a result of loosing many clients to the same vet I took my dog to for the second opinion. You do not yell at clients if you want to retain them as clients. NEVER at any point in the conversation did he inquire as to the condition of the animal. He simply did not care about the dog....he wanted to know why I did not consult him first. I believe that speaks volumes. read more
