I had thought these people were the best in the business as when I needed a throttle cable replaced by the weekend they picked up my boat, hauled it to the shop and "fixed" it right away. Well they did not do a water test and when I got it back I could not get the boat under full power AND several wires and wire nuts were hanging from the control box. I called and left 5 messages for Treveor asking for a call back and he just flat out refuses to call me back. Not only that but when I got it back I was missing a dock bumper AND 2 of the seats on my pontoon were stained with oil or whatever was on their pants when working on the dock. I would stay away from Trevor and Pine Lake Marina. I am having a new motor and controls installed next Spring and Trevor will never get my business again! ADDED TWO WEEKS LATER: I just bought a 50 hp Mercury from Gull Lake Marina for less than a quote on 30 hp from Pine Lake Marina. read more

Bill's Lakeside Grill is attached part and parcel to this boat livery northeast of Plainwell, Michigan. We ordered lunch at the kiosk and were able to wait pleasantly lakeside while it was repaired. The brisket sandwich I had was delicious. The smoked brisket was exceeded my expectations and was better than some I have had in Kalamazoo. My partner is from Flint and ordered the Coney Island hot dog, which was a true Flint-style coney. The folks here are downhome friendly. After talking with them awhile, we reserved a fishing boat for next Friday. Lovely new memory!!! read more

Do not use for boat repair! My husband and I dropped our boat off for motor repair. Charged us over 3 hours for laber cost on a coil repair! (over $300!) Very expensive! When we went to pick it up said everything was running great! We took it out later that day and it was running very rough and stalled out-same issue we took it in for! It was not fixed! My husband called back to let them know there were still issues with the boat and they were extermely rude. Will not be back! read more

Rented a pontoon boat for 3 days and boat was delivered on a Monday at 10 am. Upon delivery was given the option of a 5 pm pick up on Wednesday or a 8 am pick up on Thursday. We took the Thursday morning. The boat was delivered rather dirty and the delivery driver said that a fuse had blown on the lights and he would have to run and get a fuse for it. He returned, installed the fuse and at 10:45 we were on our merry way. Thursday morning we arrived at the drop off location at 7:50 am and waited and waited and waited....finally at 8:30 we called to find out when they were picking the boat up. We were told the driver over slept and someone was on their way shortly..and needed to know the location. 20 minutes later they arrived and were very nice and super apologetic. My husband expressed irritation being that we had to be on the road at a certain time and waiting for them was not part of the plan...especially when they charged a $50 delivery fee. Pat (one of the owners)told my husband that they would waive the gas fee that was to be taken out of our $100 deposit. He claimed he wanted our business again and told us to call the shop in an hour to have him credit our deposit back on to our credit card. One hour later we called the shop back and were greeted by Pat whom took our credit card number and told us he was going to credit back the $. We checked later in the day with the credit card company and found that instead of the credit..they charged us $100. We called Pine Lakes back and were informed by the co-owner (Jeff) he wasn't giving us anything back and that we broke a light on the boat and we used the boat an extra 1/2 day. I argued that we broke no light (the owner picked up the boat and went around and checked it...if it was broken, why was nothing said???)and replayed the conversation with Pat...I also disputed how we were to be charged an extra 1/2 day for the boat when we were given the option of when we would like it picked up with no mention of any extra fees. I had paid the deposit w/credit card and paid for the boat in cash..if there was an extra fee for the 1/2 day due to the Thursday pickup...why did they not include it when I paid for the boat AFTER the pickup time was discussed. Long story Short.... They kept my original $100 deposit, charged me an extra $100 under the guise that they were returning it and They now have $200 of my $, they are shady, Pat is a nice man.......Jeff....not so much. He is a thief and I would NEVER recommend doing business with this company again. read more

A group of us from Plainwell have been renting a pontoon boat annually for several years now, and have always been more than happy with both the service and the attitude we have gotten from the owners. We have been allowed to fish out of a boat that normally isn't used for fishing and the owners always make sure we know how to start the motor and operate the boat. They are always friendly and glad to see us and we fully intend to keep on renting from them. read more

Rented a boat from Jeff and his wife (sorry, I didn't catch her name) for my husband, myself, our son, his girlfriend and her parents. I arrived first and paid for the boat and was surprised that the cost was as low as it was. While waiting for the others to arrive I spent time talking with Jeff and his wife and enjoyed hearing their story and their love for the lake. I truly believe their goal is for their customers to have a fun time. Our boat was clean and in great shape. We spent about 6 hours on the boat and we all had an absolutely great time. Can't wait to go out on the lake again. This is definitely where we will go for our boat rental! (My son has used them for a prior boat rental and he and his girlfriend had the same great experience. Pine Lake Boat and Motor has been storing my pontoon boat for about 5 years and until this year I have not had any issues with them. My boat is a G3 so the pontoons are wider then pontoons on most boats. Jeff took my boat off my bunk trailer and put a standard lift trailer (which does not properly fit under a G3 boat) under my boat. When this happened it scratched my Pontoons by the top of the pontoons. I had my pontoons checked, while the pontoons scratched the were not compromised. I also had to have the burrs on the scratches buffed out. This would not of happened if Jeff left MY boat on MY trailer. I also have a police report stating that Jeff authorized taking my boat off my trailer and putting it on one of their trailers. read more

Love this place! Found it by accident towards the end of last summer. Couldn't believe their prices were so cheap, I was sure there was a catch. I've been renting pontoons for over 10 years now, haven't ever paid less than $200/day. No, the boats aren't fancy or showy, but they work, they seat as many people as you can bring, and they don't bitch when we bring our dogs. Plus I love the overnight option. Every person I've spoken with in person or on the phone has been polite, helpful and just all around great. The two times I've had a problem with a boat they listen and address the issue right away. One of the owners even offered me his cell phone number in case anything happened after the marina is closed. AND they've cut me slack a couple times when I've gone over my gas allowance or come by late afternoon on a spur of the moment fishing trip. Because their prices are so great, this summer we've already been out on the lake a half dozen times! Matter of fact, I think we'll get out again tomorrow :) read more
