Thank you!! Let me begin with the ALL the staff at Boat City Marine were awesome in many ways! On 01-10-2026 I went to the boat show very skeptical about buying a boat and had the thought process of I'm just looking today and won't find a boat yet. The staff were very professional and not forceful during the process of me looking at the boat. I spent around 2 to 3 hours sitting on the boat, walking around the boat, and talking to the staff about anything and everything. My decision to buy the boat was me liking the boat a lot and due to the setup and colors. The second reason was as mentioned above the staff were not forceful on purchasing as some dealers can be at times. I ended up adding on a fishing Bimini top and upgrading to a tandem axle trailer for longer trips down the road. The staff worked very well with me on these upgrades and made the add-on process smooth for me as a buyer. Thank you again!!!! When I noticed the boat I knew right away it was what I wanted. I loved the floor plan, the engine size, the fish finder/gps, and the trolling motor setup! As a buyer a person knows when the right boat is in front of them! The first thing that caught my attention was the paint job/colors! I didn't even look at the price tag until after telling myself "this could be my boat". The price on the boat was a very reasonable price. I priced the boat several times to ensure my calculations were on point with the discounted price they had on the boat. The boat price was truthful and the discounts they had applied were on point. The staff again was amazing in every way! The boat was what I wanted. I would recommend anyone looking for a smooth transaction of buying any type of boat to use Boat City Marine! Thank you again for helping with making my fishing adventures great! I jumped on the Internet to get the number to Boat City Marine who I've done business with over the past years for both purchases and repairs on a small fleet that I have here on Barton Lake. I had to write this review because I was confused about the low rating I saw from three or four people apparently. . . seven years ago?? My experience has been wonderful with Boat City Marine and the service and personal attention I have received from Chris, his wife (Lori) and other staff members. I'm heading that way this morning with the tritoon to drop it off for its oil change and check up. Last year we had our 'guest/kids pontoon' in the shop for some repairs and what I thought might be an engine replacement was solved by several component upgrades at a fair price and in a timely manner. I wish I'd read Michelle H's review before we got robbed, too. I was very specific about what I wanted repaired -- the transmission, plus an oil change. I was told it would be around $300, which sounded very reasonable to me. I was also told it would be ready in about a week, maybe sooner. Two weeks later I still hadn't heard from them so I phoned and they said it would be ready the next day. When we came to pick it up, they had done $650 in repairs (including a carburetor rebuild I didn't ask for and NOT including the transmission replacement I did request) and the boat still isn't running right. The older gentleman who filled out our paperwork bald-face lied and told the manager he hadn't given me a $300 estimate. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

you won't get your mechanical issues ever fixed. You'll get more and more calls alleging additional defective parts increasing your bill and increasing your bill till it's in the thousands. Then get another call that your boat won't run unless you pay more and more. If u can't pay it they hide your boat in their back building and hold it for ransom. read more

This place just robbed us! Called to tell us our boat was ready and running. When we went to pick it up we were told that it was not running and that the starter was bad. No they broke my boat. Snapped the starter bolt off in my block. Made me pay almost $300 in repair fees because they rebuilt the carburetor that we told them was just rebuilt. The carburetor that they decided to rebuild after the starter was making noises... I made a complaint to the BBB. I had to pay to get my boat back in worse shape than it was in... I'll never do ANY kind of business with these idiots again! Please head my warning and find another marina to take your boat to! This company got 1 star because I had to give them something I guess but I would probably give them negative stars if I could! read more

Boat City called the other day and said my boat engine was ready to go. Stopped in today to pick it up, paid 350$, walked out back and loaded it into my truck...Then they proceed to explain to me that the engine could not be repaired. Not sure why they replaced numerous parts + 250$ in labor if the engine was damaged beyond repair. The employee continued to say that we should have told them the engine had been under water, we're not the mechanics, if that is so important then they should have asked! The way these guys do business is so unethical, its a crime. Would never refer or do business with them again. I would give them negative stars if possible. read more

All of their good mechanics quit due to low salaries and sketchy management. I know a few I wish were still there but they are not so I will be looking for a new mechanic myself! Its a shame that companies dont treat their employees very well in order to retain them! Compensate ALL of them like they should be with a few incentives and they wont find employers that do!! read more

Same thing as the below review. The problem is that I've been a champion for this place for many years. Always sticking up for Kris (which is A LOT) but after yesterday, no more. With a quote of $300 for the repairs on our older boat, I expected that they would find more. They did, and we approved. However, the main issue wasn't fixed. So after $700 and the engine still running like crap, I contacted someone else and he came over and identified the issue in less than 5 minutes. A 4 stroke only running on 3 cylinders. I contacted them with the news and whom I would be using instead of them. I wanted them to be informed so they could work with their own tech as a learning tool. Instead I get a call back from Kris Nelson and he preceded to RIP me a new one. Did I mention that just 3 months earlier I gave them a nearly 30K check for a new boat!!! Now that's some customer service! Save your stress level and money and go to The Edge, D&R, Leaders, Highs, anyone but this place. read more
