Neither doctor knows any specialty physicians and you will have to find your own as well. You are better off being sick then seeing this jerk.

They punish people excessively; staff make up lies about clients, and pick favorites. What is the motive here? For people to get better or for them to line their pockets? What do they pay the employees to send clients to seemingly useless classes? Are the classes tailored to help the clients, some of whom don't find them helpful? I wish I could talk to a staff member who knows something other than to tell me my friend is "behaving badly." The chaplain is the only person that has offered to help my friend. They have a dietician but my friend says the food isn't good and isn't enough food. So I sent him and the other residents pizza, and they actually threw it away, claiming that because it had gluten that since everyone can't have it, that he wasn't supposed to, either. They even threw away the non-caffeinated soda that I sent (two two liters bottles), so that he could share it with everyone there, staff included. No wonder he tries running away. I wouldn't be able to stay in a place like that. It's supposed to be a Christian facility but then they tell him not to pray so loud or to play his Christian music at a low volume. Saw a social worker who first said I was okay to go home, but that it might be helpful if I were to stay a few nights. Suddenly a nurse came in with am OLD (I see a psychiatrist there) blood pressure from a few weeks ago and insisted I be rechecked--but that it had to be done at Metro Hospital VIA AMBULANCE. I protested, because I am already going bankrupt from medical bills. Thereupon the social worker PETITIONED me to go in the ambulance! Metro took my bp, let me go, and gave me free bp meds. I had to find my own way back to my car, which was at Pine Rest. I will never set foot in that sham of a medical facility again.

My daughter, London, was only 12 years old when she was voluntarily hospitalized at Pine Rest. Like many families in crisis trying to protect their child, we trusted the medical professionals, policies, and systems involved in her care. During her treatment, Pine Rest prescribed Prozac to London. Our family does not believe Pine Rest fully informed us about the numerous serious risks associated with SSRIs in children and adolescents--most importantly, the FDA's black box warning of increased risk of suicidal thinking and behavior in children. London's death occurred while she was still within the early weeks of SSRI exposure - a period widely recognized as requiring extremely close monitoring due to increased risks of behavioral changes and suicidality in some children and adolescents. She was a beautiful child - intelligent, compassionate, artistic, athletic, funny, deeply sensitive, and endlessly loved. Our family now lives with unimaginable grief. To be clear, London did not die inside the facility. However, our family believes there were serious failures by Pine Rest which contributed to the loss of my daughter. In response to this tragedy, I began working on London's Law - proposed legislation focused on full informed consent, accountability, and other important protections for children and families involved with the mental health system. I have been going here for my entire VA medical career, they are so good I decided to join them for…read moreemployment. As a veteran, it is nice to work with people who empathize with my past work experience. The canteen ( the lunch room) always has good food to eat and there is a store next to it that has no tax sales. The staff are concerned and there is an attendant in every clinic to make sure that we are taken care of. Battle Creek is one of the biggest VAs in the area and we have quality care. I love that there are areas to walk and a golf course for fun. The gym is basic but they have classes! And the pool is great exercise. Podiatry is a very quick visit but they give a lot of resources. Physical therapists are educated individuals who take the time to help ease the pain! I receive my medications quickly and if not then they are sent to my home so there is no stress! The patient advocates are an open-door policy type and it's great to take advantage of! There is plenty of parking, and they salt the sidewalks during the winter. They even have a tunnel system that allows us to not be out in the elements! Very swanky. I have yet to have a bad customer experience, they do a wonderful job hiring the staff. Mental health sets us up for success. The x-ray is clean and quick! Ultrasound is also very professional! Telehealth allows me to feel heard and also gives me quick a response! Nutrition has helped me get on track with my health. Overall the VA is a place that I will always be loyal to.
