I came in as a healthy, young male for a pre-employment physical. Working in healthcare, I get physicals at least annually, among other tests and screens. She could have easily performed a cursory physical exam, asked me whether I could physically work, and signed my form. Instead, Dr. Velez provided a complete physical exam, obtained a full medical and surgical history, and screened me for a few health conditions based on my intake forms and family history. Needless to say, I was impressed with her approach this visit. Not only does she provide comprehensive care, she also knows how to build rapport. She entered the room with a friendly smile, used little medical jargon, which improves communication for many, and was very approachable. If I were to stay in Orlando, she would be my primary care physician! Velez Family Health is located in Dr. Phillips in an office building. It's not visible from the parking lot, but if you walk down the hall of the north building, you'll find this clinic on the first floor past the restrooms. The place is clean, and the front desk staff is affable. Want a doc who truly cares about your health? Come here!

He's always warm-hearted, genuinely caring, fast but doesn't rush. More than worth the drive for me to see him. His office has appointments as early as 7am, as late as 7pm and even on Saturdays. They also offer x-rays, Dexascans, minor surgery, audiological screening-things for which you usually have to get a referral for and cough up another co-pay. They offer aesthetic services, too. 5 Stars for a prompt and friendly PCP…read more I've been putting off getting a Primary care physician for a while, but had several people recommend Dr. Maharaj and finally called to schedule a new patient appointment. It took 6 months to get in for my first appointment, but it was worth it because now I'm an established patient and can get in whenever I need. My suggestion? Make the appointment even if you think it's too far out. You can always cancel if you find another PCP that can see a new patient sooner, but establishing yourself as a patient is key. The office is located near the Target shopping plaza just outside of Baldwin Park in an office building. It is pretty basic, but clean and the woman at the front desk was very friendly. A nurse brought me back to take my weight and medical history. He wasn't the friendliest and I heard him tell several patients he was tired (when they asked "Hi! how are you?" I can definitely understand being at work when you're not feeling up to it, but it made me a bit worried he was tired because he was sick and being in a doctor's office already has me worried I'm going to catch something... Anyway, Dr. Maharaj came in and was a pleasure to speak to. She was clearly very knowledgeable, and spent time asking me questions and running a quick physical exam. Overall, I had a great experience and though I hope I won't be there often, I feel I'll be in good hands when I need it. I get my annual physical and well woman exam as well as manipulation because Dr. Maharaj is also an osteopath. It's amazing how she can feel her way around and can tell where your body is off alignment. I always feel amazing after a tune up! I also love that this is a small business. It's private practice, not a big hospital. I feel genuinely cared for by Dr. Maharaj and her entire staff. She even had her son intern one summer and he was so professional and attentive. Almost forgot to mention, she also administers botox, fillers and other beauty procedures. I've never gotten it before and I won't go anywhere else because Dr. Maharaj is an artist with these shots because she makes them look so natural and not overdone. I also love the fact that an MD is injecting them vs a esthetician at some beauty bars.

They are located at 320 South St. Perfect for me as I work a 5 minute walk away from them. The check in staff are very friendly and helpful. My APRN (advance practice register nurse) is amazing. She is patient, very thorough and she listens to my concerns. She makes sure everything is working as it should be. I also love that there are no surprise charges. I get an email before my appointment letting me know what is going to be done, what are the charges, and I can pay beforehand.

I've been coming to Family Medical Center for almost the better part of a decade now. I am, for the…read moremost part, fairly healthy with room for improvement (especially dietary-wise). However, I don't typically have a ton of health issues that require ongoing and frequent care. That being said, in the handful of times in which that has changed due to whatever health concerns arisen, this practice has been pretty good about ensuring that I get the most optimal treatment or referrals to specialists for treatment possible. I've been very fortunate that my experience with this practice has been primarily a positive one. Though, I do take some gripe with the fact that we don't alway get to see our primary care doctors due to scheduling and usually have to opt to see a nurse practitioner in their place. It's not the end of the world, but it is common practice especially if something comes up prior to the traditional annual we receive. Beyond that, even with the nurse practitioner, I've still had really great interactions with ALL the staff that have aided in my care. So, for as long as I'm a resident of Orange County, I'll be keeping this practice as my go-to primary health care. I must note, that health is a deeply personal journey and it is not always the easiest finding health practitioners that are truly working towards ensuring that you are not only healthy, but that also seek to ensure you maintain that health (or help you get to that point). I sympathize with any and everyone, that have had negative experiences (even here - as my mom has been one to have a negative experience and no longer comes to this practice). I understand, that, as I a noted, I have been very fortunate that my care here has been very positive and I pray it remains as such. I wish nothing but positive journeys to all looking for a practice to call home for their health care. And if it happens to be Family Medical Center like it is for me, then so it is! And if not, that is okay because there are other practices and I wish the best of luck in that search. As a quick note, before I close this out, they do have two offices right next door to each other. Both have labs, so, if you need lab work, they can perform it in either office. It's pretty convenient. Their main office is larger but their smaller one, is newer. It was once a banking institution if my memory serves me well, that they eventually acquired and gutted to turn into a medical office building. Hence, their close location to the main office.

I was greeted warmly by the staff, and I stated I had both Medicare and Florida Blue supplemental insurance. The receptionist stated Dr. DeVoursney was accepting new patients. I also wanted to try a Doctor of Osteopathic given I'm in very good health and was looking for a physician that practices a holistic approach to healthcare and prevention, rather than treating disease or conditions. I was given an appointment date and various documents to complete to transfer my records to this location. On my second visit, I needed assistance in completing all the paperwork correctly. On this date, I got a 5-star employee named Shaquanda Sanders at the Front Desk. She was very friendly and welcoming and was quite knowledgeable on the paperwork process. She walked me through the questions I had, provided examples of how to fill out certain sections and was a joy to work with. She made me so comfortable and made the process a breeze. If Shaquanda is just one example of the caring and competent staff at this Center, I'm very much looking forward to my first appointment with Dr. DeVoursney in the Fall.

Do NOT waste your time! "Free" STD tests offered are NOT FREE!…read more After I got a FALSE positive HIV test (very scary feeling by the way), I had to pay $50 for an appointment. My main issue is being told bloodwork/labs to confirm the HIV test result would not be out of pocket. They told me this AFTER I provided my insurance info and asked them. If I knew there was, or might be, a copay beforehand, I would probably still get the labs done because I just tested positive for a major incurable illness. Still would rather not have paid $180 for a "free" STD test just because of a faulty test on their end, but I guess I would rather be aware of being (possibly) charged rather than LIED TO. Due to their (allegedly) affordable services, I was at first considering them for their other resources, but that is off the table now. I would encourage anyone considering Crew Health to be very wary or avoid them altogether, especially if you are already struggling financially in our increasingly less affordable society. So unfortunate to see a place meant to serve a marginalized community take advantage of fear to get money. Very disappointed.

She listened to my needs and was able to transfer my other medical history and documents to my file. I was able to do everything electronically and scheduled my appointment. You can opt in to have them email and/or text you appointment reminders and they send it to you a day in advance so you can confirm or reschedule. Fast fwd to the day of appointment I had car problems and had to cancel my appointment. I had to wait to call and speak to someone as the issue happened during thier lunch breaks. I finally spoke to someone and was able reschedule with ease. The appointment went well and i was able to make them my pcp. Highly recommend
