It ran from 9am to 4.15pm and involved: - a coach pick up from my hotel - morning and afternoon tea - a tall ship cruise to the exclusive McLarens Landing - parasailing off the boat (cost $60) - full licensed bar on boat and on island (drinks cost extra) - island BBQ and buffet lunch - live entertainment (singer) - free use of paddle boats, kayaks, beach volleyball equipment, pool table, cricket and darts equipment - sea plane flight (cost $90per person) - choice of speedboat or tall ship cruise back home - coach drop off at my hotel Best of all, the tour was only $129!!! It was extraordinary value for a day packed with fun. There are plenty of opportunities to relax with glorious beaches on South Stradbroke Island (where McLarens Landing is) and even a hammock available for a snooze. The staff are incredible and make the atmosphere very fun. They are sociable and entertaining too. If you have a day free I would definitely go on this tour. The sea plane ride I took was incredible and the owner of the plane is happy to bargain with you for a cheaper fare. From memory I think I whittled him down to $55 for my flight. He likes to have fun and rolled the plane right over at one point - definitely got an adrenaline rush from that!

Peter took us to three cellar doors in Mt Tamborine for tastings, but we didn't just taste, purchase and leave. Pete took us around the properties and showed us many interesting facts about each place. We also went to a distillery which I hadn't done before. The last stop was lunch @ O'riley's Vineyard. We had a two course lunch and Pete did a tasting for us at the table between the courses. The food and wine were both delicious. I highly recommend this tour, very personal, interesting and enjoyable. If booking online (don't bother) just call them because the website is not very user friendly.

The InterContinental is a delight to the eyes and the taste buds with fantastic staff…read more From the moment we arrived, driving through the beautiful gardens to an entrance fit for a king, we were greeted by genuinely happy, helpful, friendly faces, and with none of the 'forced' niceties we often seem to receive an upscale resort where you know they're just paid to smile and be attentive. Absolutely every staff member we encountered, from reception to concierge, valet and the restaurant at breakfast were in all honesty, as lovely as you could imagine. The InterContinental has truly world class service. The resort itself is huge, covers an expanse that could be considered its own suburb, and picturesque to say the least, but for those of us who have trouble walking any distance, you're only a phone call away from a friendly, happy staff member and his limo sized golf cart to take you wherever you need to go. And that includes a small local shopping precinct packed with shops and restaurants at the marina. The rooms are clean, well-appointed and reasonably fresh, with everything you need on hand for a nice relaxing stay, or just a phone call to concierge away. Sadly, we were only staying for one night while attending a party in nearby Paradise Point and did not get a chance to try the restaurant for dinner, which we've heard is quite superb. We were however, lucky enough to enjoy an incredible buffet breakfast with all the trimmings, including real barista made coffee (if you're a lover of coffee, this will mean the world to you) and a lovely omelette made to my personal choice by the skilled chef attending. I have to say, this one night getaway has left us with a very favourable memory and now, we just need an excuse to come back. Very highly recommended.

The rooms were nice and large and I was fortunate enough to have one with a nice view of the water. The business facility was fairly nice. The food at the event was good. Service was excellent. The most fun was riding around the resort in the golf carts. The bell staff was absolutely outstanding. The resort is accompanied with a golf course and with what we would call in the US condos. The property also includes a shoppping village which looked quite nice. I would love to visit again on vacation to really get the full enjoyment out of such a lovely resort.

You can read a bit of history abt the coast and walk around and look through telescopes to see up close the oceanic views. It's amazing - definitely would come back to see it again. We have just had a lovely 5 night stay, unfortunately the weather wasn't te best however, the best part of our stay,EVERY TIME, is seeing Barney, our favorite chef cooking breakfast knowing he fed my late sister Erin and my late father Barry may they R.I.P my mother and I continue the tradition of visiting this lovely place with the amazing buffet breakfast Thankyou Barney, not only for your breakfast cheffy skills but also for being a really lovely human! We look forward to our next stay, also I have really enjoyed the breakfast menu having slight changes everyday, I found myself looking forward to what was different about the menu each morning. When we arrived we…read morewere horrified to discover that the OCEAN VIEW ROOM we had booked on Expedia was in fact a MOTORWAY VIEW ROOM. All we listened to was motorbikes dragging along the strip all night. When we tried to move, management blew us off. Next, we discovered that our room had no electricity. Then no TV. Most calls to reception were ignored. The family in 1302 made so much noise they could have powered the entire building with their energy. I've been screwed before, but never this hard. As another unhappy guest said, "Welcome to the Inn of the Damned!"

There, you have your warning. NOW... if we didn't pay and the experience deteriorated and the end of the cantilever bridge snapped off for example... you get the point. I completely understand other Yelpers and my partners view of getting this experience for free in the National Park but you can only get it from the ground. This is that plus being in the treetops. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I saw a wallaby and a really pretty blue dragonfly. The paths are maintained to a very high standard. There are information points along the walk about trees and wildlife. The cantilever bridge, with the green scenery beyond looks like the approach to a Jurassic Park viewing platform. If you stand still at the end of it you can see and feel it gently swaying. Not for those with a fear of heights but worth a look if visiting the region.

The room has cosmetic issues everywhere but the resort itself is beautiful. Lots of walking required though as not too many elevators. With a direct private entrance to the beach and walking distance across the bridge to amazing shopping and restaurants you don't even need a car. If you really need to get out, I suggest taking a taxi rather than forking out all the cash for a rental. The rooms are beautiful by far the best bath tub and shower and this is the only hotel I've been to where the elevators have a luxe leather bench to sit and rest your weary feet for all of 2 floors. Yes, I made it a point to sit down every time.... At first I was kind of bummed there was only 1 hotel dinning restaurant which is a buffet in addition to the Oasis pool bar but just across the bridge and within a 2 minute walk there are a ton of restaurants on the water. Therefore I decided it wouldn't kill me to get out of the hotel- bad feeling gone! The pool has a swim up bar, the only thing I do wish is that there was an outdoor spa. This would have been nice in GC's winter of 68-70 degrees/ 18-20C :) I can't wait to come back and stay here again!
