I was frustrated as the coaches teach to the lowest level. Sometimes couldn't get a rally going with fellow players. Didn't work up a sweat. I sent email after email to Adam and Helen (whonis now gone) left phone messages asking if I could switch to a different group. Get a credit and do private instead. Maybe send my kids to a program and withdraw from the one that was getting me nowhere. Any compromise would have been welcome. But, no reply. Ever. I started…read moretaking Cardio Tennis at Rye Racquet on Wednesday nights, and was looking for a good spot to have beers afterwards (and yes, I appreciate the conflict here...). Like many others, I spend my summers playing outdoors at a local club...and then turn to Rye Racquet for winter tennis access, which is why I do Cardio Tennis. It's great cross-training to all my running and a great workout. The pros always keep it fun and music helps keep me moving. In general, I can't say enough good things about the club. Beside Cardio Tennis, I have played in numerous Adult Ed programs at night. They have an incredible array of talented pro's and the facility is well-maintained...and the courts well lit, not to mention the willingness of staff to accommodate missed sessions. It all makes Rye Racquet my preferred indoor tennis choice.

Yonkers Tennis Club in my opinion, is pretty great. It's important to note that this is almost strictly a TENNIS center - don't expect treadmills, a weight room, a pool etc. If you're looking for a comprehensive fitness center, this may not be the right choice for you. Martin, the gentleman who evaluated my skill level is a terrific guy. He pointed out my strengths and weaknesses, and suggested some programs that could help my game. This visit I can't, as my shoulder is under the weather, but I'm pleased to report the club is still doing well, and still making improvements in facilities and staff every year. This is a huge park so there is something for everyone. There are some street parking options with…read morefree parking nearby so it's fairly accessible. There are a bunch of fields for baseball and soccer. There are two playgrounds; one for older kids and one for toddlers. The toddler playground is large with two jungle gyms, swings, and a sprinkler which would be great in the summer heat. Walking paths are paved and well maintained. Grass areas are clean.

Also another feedback, and i noticed they did this more throughout the event but, train your staff to ask before they take any plates away on the tables, one may think that they are done, but they could not be. Anyways, dessert was also good, as there was a strawberry cake, munchins, cake pops, and brownies, which was all very good. It was also easy to find the restroom and it was very clean. I can't say much about the beach club or activities, but it looked like they had a nice large pool. The grounds are also beautiful.
