Tried to sell us on $800 of services and promised next day results on bloodwork. We are 5 days later and they have not even called us!!!!! I gave them 1 star because they had a very flexible schedule and were able to get me in right away. However, the office was very dirty. And they upcharged EVERYTHING!!! I have never been to a vet so expensive in my life!! My dogs leg popped out of socket, the doctor told me it was normal for larger breed dogs like him. After the x-Ray, the doctor insisted that he needed surgery that would cost approximately $7k-$10k. When I asked if he could pop it back into place for less than that amount since he is an older dog and surgery would be tough on him he said no that would not be possible. I took my dog out of town to a different vet and he popped it back into place and my dog is doing great!! That vet said there was absolutely no need for surgery so with that being said Pinegate Veterinary just wanted money and did not care about my dogs well being!!! read more

Strange place. Saw the vet go out into the parking lot with either a large candle or a syringe to work on a goat in the back of some guys pickup truck. Being from the city, this was pretty weird to me. Customer service was very helpful and polite, but failed to tell us our dogs needed to return to have their stitches removed. We didn't realize for weeks that they needed to be pulled out. . read more

*DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE* If possible i wouldn't even rate this vet 1 star. We had adopted a stray cat that we brought into a shelter hanging around our house, he was then brought to this vet by the shelter to get neutered. I had called Dr. Oliver at PineGate veterinarian center to see what time i could pick up my cat he said he could have him ready by 2:30. Around 1:00 i received a call, Dr.Oliver rudely said " you know how you were gonna pick up your cat early? Well thats not gonna happen i put the mask on to do the surgery and he turned blue, hes dead he must have had an underlying disease" We then were very disturbed how he acted and told us our cat had died so we let the shelter know they picked him up and we went to Pine Gate to get the paper work. The office was disgusting, a parrot bleeding from its wing looked like it was half missing underneath and blood all over the floor. The Dr. couldn't even come say anything to us, it took him over an hour to type up a paper that said animal died during castration, meanwhile you can hear cats in the back rooms crying and sounds like they are being hurt. On the paper we received with the details of his surgery, the Dr. didn't even have his sex written down and his weight was at 0.00 there was one sentence on the paper. We had a necropsy done on his tissues and all of the organs and the results finally came back, thank goodness we followed our gut feeling because the results showed that cat was perfectly healthy, he had no underlying diseases. Due to these findings and conditions the shelter also stopped using him for there neuter and spays.This vet and his staff are very careless, rude and very dirty. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. If we were able to do negatives, they would be in the 100s. We have had our cockatiel for over 13 years and have never had any medical issues until now. One month ago, to the day, our bird developed an irritation under one of her wings. It became obvious after a few days that she was very uncomfortable so we decided that we would take her to an avian. Dr. Oliver observed "Birdie" and determined it was a "blood feather" that was causing her discomfort. Before he even asked for consent, he decided that he should cauterize the aforementioned "blood feather." Dr. Oliver then charged us nearly $300 for a service that had not even been approved or discussed and advised "She should be fine with a cone and Neosporin application." Birdie seemed fine for the first couple of weeks after the procedure however, we caught her picking under the same wing again just a few days ago. We observed her wing and found what you see in the photo. Mind you, this is the exact same spot where Dr. Oliver cauterized her "blood feather." This afternoon I called Dr. Oliver's office. I was told this was not their problem and they would charge me for any services rendered during her visit as they have no control over her picking. I told them it grew from the origin of cauterization and whoever answered the phone argued with me. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, EVER BRING YOUR PET TO THIS SO CALLED "VETERINARIAN." We are currently scheduled to see a REAL CERTIFIED/LICENSED Avian and are super confident that what Dr. Oliver has created will hopefully be corrected so that Birdie can live a normal, comfortable, and healthy life there on. Please do yourself a favor and do not listen to their "advice" or responses to any of these reviews. It will do you or your beloved pets no justice. UPDATE: We brought Birdie to Dr. Lanier and got this "thing" completely removed. We asked to get it tested and we just got the results which came back to be CANCER. Dr. Oliver cauterized it incorrectly and caused it to grow into a full blown tumor which gave her great pain and suffering. Please NEVER bring your pets to Dr. Oliver. We 100% recommend Dr. Lanier from the Golden Gate Animal Clinic. Our Birdie had her surgery about a week ago and has been happy ever since. Dr. Lanier gave us proper pain medication and antibiotics and a cone and she's been super cheerful and back to normal. read more

One word: Terrible My dog was sick (throwing up/diarrhea/not eating and very listless) so I contacted my breeder and they recommended that I take my dog down to see Dr. Oliver. He didn't even examine her, only took her temperature (which was fine). He gave her some shots, dewormed her, and put her on an antibiotic. Great. Luckily, that night I was talking to my sister, who is a pharmacist, and told her everything that the doctor did. After I told her the dosage of the antibiotic that I was to give her, she immediately questioned the dosage. She said that her dog also takes that whenever her dog gets sick but never that big of a dose. So she contacted her friend, who is a veterinarian, and told him the dosage that my dog was on. He agreed and said that he was shocked the doctor prescribed such a high dosage for the weight of my dog, who is only 6 lbs. He also said that with that high of a dose, my dog could've had seizures and possibly lead to death. After just losing a dog in July, this news was just devastating. I didn't want to lose 2 pets in under a year. That's family. Immediately the next morning, I called the Dr. Oliver and told him what my sister and her veterinarian friend said about the dosage. He said "well didn't we weigh your dog? Wasn't she 20 lbs?" I said "absolutely not, she's only 6 maybe 7 lbs (I have a little maltipoo, if you were wondering). He was surprised and said "oh then yes they are right." Unbelievable. Dr. Oliver prescribed my dog 4 times what she should've been. The next day, I went down to talk to Dr. Oliver at the clinic. The gentleman at the front desk said that he wasn't in but will be back from 1-1.5 hours. No problem. He wrote down my name and number. Over 2 hours go by with no phone call so I went back down to the clinic. He still wasn't there so I went home. After 20 hours go by and still no phone call, I went back down to the clinic to talk to him. I finally see him and tell him that I am very concerned with how he "examined" my dog and overprescribed her. He told me that he didn't overprescribe her. He even admitted that he did when I called him so now he is just contradicting himself. He said he weighed my dog, which he never did. He thought my dog was 20lbs. Completely false. He said he did nothing wrong and asked why I even showed up. I told him that I wanted reimbursed for the examination, for which he DID NOT do and for overprescribing my dog. I told him that his mistake could've lead to a very scary situation for my dog. His response "we all make mistakes". After I told him that I wanted my money back, he instantly got furious and kicked me out. He told me to never come back. Don't you worry, I'll never be back. Aside from the awful examination and overprescribing antibiotics, the place itself wasn't bright and could've been much cleaner. read more

I left my dog there 3 times the first time i had them give her a bath, she came back wet and smelling horrible, they honestly just threw on some water and did not even dry her. The second time she came back really strange, when we got home she was searching for water everywhere, she drank about 3 cans of water without stopping, they don't even give them water nor food, Today i picked her up, i left her Saturday and picked her up Monday she came back so weak she could not even stand she is a very energetic dog so its really strange that she would not get happy when she saw me, her ears were bright red and her tongue was white as a paper she had no emotions what so ever usually she would jump up and down in the car but she just stayed there, at that point we got really worried not to mention i was out in the parking lot when i noticed she was weak and she would go side to side every-time she walked so i went back in and asked if they did something to her because she was acting very weirdly, of course they denied everything and told me to not worry about anything that she was fine, when we got home she slowly started running to the water and drank about 4 large cans of water and ate food as well, as soon as she drank water her whole face changed, in total i have waisted 188 dollars in this clinic for such trash service . Hospital could stand to be cleaned and sanitized and very bad business practices and customer service. Was overcharged and when I called to speak to the doctor I was given numerous excuses why he couldn't take my call. When I finally was able to get a hold of Dr. Oliver, he told me to find a new vet and hung up on me. read more

I do not recommend this Vet. doctor. He'll never touch another animal from me as long as I live. Had two animals die hours from being released from him. He does not communicate very with the customer and over charges. I'm surprise he's still in business. read more
