(I live in the South and those are unobtainable here, so when I'm in NY, which is often, I seek them out) A nice thing about it, for this very rural area, is that you can sit down and eat and drink coffee on some not terribly clean bench and table setups. You can have a chat with your local meth lab proprietor! (Just kidding, at least I hope I am). But deep in the country, devoid of Starbucks, O'Dells is genuinely useful, so don't be mean to O'Dells. Like so many people, I would like to gas up and get back on the road but no they are never working right and they do have an upcharge for paying with credit card. Having to go into the dinky store and wait for the cashier to come up to the register is a pain but more so it is about having kids in the car. I do not leave my kids in the car. Surprisingly today their soda machine and hot chocolate machine was out of order too which is surprising, but it was working on getting fixed while I was there waiting for them to figure out what to do with my order.
