I went in for a dental cleaning, and was greeted by Pascal before I went in to the room. He was my hygienist and he was not only knowledgeable, he was also very careful with my teeth. And then taking the only appointment that they had available this month. The service here is impeccable. The receptionist was professional and friendly, and the dentist goes through a series of background questions first about you and your overall health before the exam. The hygienist probably has one of the least popular jobs there but explained a lot of things related to teeth and gum health that I never thought about before, that were really interesting. She also used this numbing paste on my gums to help reduce the pain, and offered me Advil afterwards if I needed it for pain management. I also left with some free toothbrushes, rinse, floss and a lip balm (made of all natural ingredients). So why 4 stars and not 5? It was damn expensive. Or at least, in my opinion. I've been a regular dentist visitor in my adult life and never seen a bill over $200 or $300 before, and at the end of my visit I was presented with a bill for $600 for the exam, two x-rays and an hour of intensive cleaning. PS: This place is located upstairs, look for the tiny sign and stairs next to Wow Chicken on 10th.

Doctor Van Blaricom and his assistant, Wendy, were thorough and friendly, and great at explaining the reasons why they were doing and checking what they were. In addition, there was no judgement at all from either one as to my long stretch between visits, their main concern was to get me back on track, fixing the minor issues that were present. After a few suggestions for at-home dental care, I was easily booked into the next few appointments, all within the next few weeks. With my current dentist retiring, I was in the market for a new one and I came here on…read morerecommendation. I went in for a cleaning and a check up and the cleaning was not done well compared to other cleanings I've had. It felt like the bare minimum was done. Usually, the hygienist goes in with the pick to clear out all the stuff that get stuck at the top of the tooth, but they didn't. I was also given all the expensive frills without asking me ($30 fluoride rinse, unnecessary $150 X-Rays), which I later found out how expensive they were once the bill came due. Typical of all dentists offices, they'll ask if you're covered, and if you are they'll just give you everything so the bill is over $500 in order to make your visit as profitable for them as possible. I don't mind if procedures are explained to me (what the cost is, why I need it, etc.) so I can make an informed decision, but I don't appreciate my money being spent without asking or explanation because I'm covered. Never going back.
