He says it makes his day so much more fun getting to rotate and learn about Computers, Art, Science, Library, Bible, and Spanish. In second grade he was at a 6th grade 6 month reading level which blew me away! As parents we also love that we get to be involved so much, from volunteering in class, to being included in Friday Chapel, to helping with field trips and holiday activities, it's all amazing. The second you walk in to Legacy it feels like home, everyone is so welcoming and kind. We can't wait for more years to come.

That said, we've unenrolled and will be attending public school for the 2026-2027 school year, along with what I understand to be at least 100 other families. The primary reason is that the general sentiment is that the cost of tuition no longer matches the quality of education being provided. We've experienced tuition increases every year for the past 3-4 years, maybe even the last 5 years. This includes increases of 9%, 6%, 5%... There is no indication these increases are slowing down, yet the educational experience has not kept pace with what families should reasonably expect from such an expensive private school. Academically, students transitioning to public school have often been behind in math to the point that the school has since improved its math curriculum, starting this school year. That's great for future students, but for the tuition being charged, this should never have been an issue in the first place. The same can be said for Spanish. My oldest attended Legacy from K-4 and my youngest from K-2. They took Spanish every year, yet neither can speak or understand more than a few basic words. This seems to be common among students who are not already bilingual. After years of paying for Spanish instruction, there should be significantly more to show for it. There has also been a noticeable change in the school's culture since its partnership with Grace Community Church in Sunland (not to be confused with Grace Baptist here in SCV) and the increased involvement of The Master's University (TMU). Many families feel the school has become more business-oriented and that hiring increasingly favors individuals connected to Grace or TMU, creating a perception of nepotism. Security is another major concern. With more than 500 students across a K-12 campus consisting of multiple buildings, having only one security guard during school hours is simply inadequate. A campus of this size should have at least two guards to provide meaningful coverage. Then there's a lack of law enforcement experience with the guard for the last 2 years. When Legacy first implemented armed security, law-enforcement experience was mandatory. That standard has since changed, and the current guard does not have any kind of law-enforcement background and is limited to basic security experience. By comparison, Trinity Classical Academy has multiple guards on campus and their security personnel have law-enforcement backgrounds. For a school charging premium tuition, I believe that level of security should be the minimum expectation. Ultimately, the biggest issue is value. Going into 2026-2027, tuition for my two elementary-age children would have been $4,500 per month, before future increases. High school tuition is already around $3,000 per month per student, before future increases. At those prices, families should expect an exceptional academic experience, strong college preparation, and a robust security program that is consistent with a premium private school. Instead, many graduates are attending schools such as TMU or UC campuses. There is nothing wrong with those schools, but when Legacy presents itself as a premier, prestigious private Christian school and charges premium tuition, it is reasonable for parents to question whether the overall educational value and outcomes justify the price. Legacy does many things well--particularly its Christian foundation, teachers, and family involvement-- The question is no longer whether Legacy is a good school. The question is whether it is a $30,000-$50,000-per-year school. Based on our experience, we no longer believe it is.

As he grew older and able to communicate more with gestures, he would direct me away from the school when I was driving to drop him off. He would have severe meltdowns at drop off every morning. Initially, I thought it was separation anxiety and continued to encourage him to go to the school. After the director and teacher complained that he was too advanced for the two-year-old class at two years old they placed him in the three-year-old class. (I've since learned this is a common thing in this type of school) They then began to complain that he was not meeting the expectations developmentally. We were told he was choosing to go to the bathroom " outside of the scheduled bathroom time" which is insane considering he is two years old and potty trained. He should be able to go to the bathroom whenever he feels like he needs to. We were being told that we didn't " discipline" him enough at home, given there were two of us (which also wasn't true because my son's father was deployed at this time). We hired a behavioral therapist company to work with him in the program, which is when we discovered that the teachers and director at the school were treating my son horribly. Multiple staff members from our behavioral agency noted that they were making disrespectful and rude comments to the children. Asking the therapists if they can make my child "shut up" & Placing inappropriate expectations on them that were outside of their developmental appropriate age. The director herself lied directly to our face saying the teachers were using resources that we provided to support them, such as timers for transitions and token economies for following directions. We were told " we don't really do that here, but we will to see if it works" when we pulled our child out of the program due to our agency, calling us with severe concerns of maltreatment (the ABA company genuinely called and said if you can remove him from this school tomorrow you should), we requested our items back. Then we were told by the school they didn't even have these items anymore (which is crazy because 24 hours prior they lied directly to my face saying they were using them daily) If I could scream from the rooftops not to bring your child to this program, I would. If not only for the safety of your child's mental health. It took several years for my child to be able to trust schools and adults again. He would absolutely shake in terror around anyone with a British/Indian accent similar to Mrs Rushani. He's now in first grade at a public school in general education and thriving thankfully. The classrooms are bright, peaceful, and full of hands-on materials that truly engage the children. My son and daughter absolutely love their teachers they're patient, attentive, and really understand how to encourage independence. In the years my son has been there I've seen so much growth in his confidence, focus, and curiosity. He comes home singing and speaking in Spanish/sign language and I just love the fact he brings home what he learns. The school also has excellent communication. Monthly updates, photos, and progress notes/pictures make us feel connected even when we're not there. It took me several months of working…read moreand caring for our first baby full-time before I finally admitted I needed a daycare - I was very worried about her being away from me for so many hours every day. We found a really good daycare in the Valley that made me feel comfortable, and our baby seemed to bond with the caretakers there. When we had to relocate to Santa Clarita, I was heartbroken leaving that daycare, and the worry about putting her with strangers every day skyrocketed again. When I toured at MoSC, I was met with such kindness, understanding, and comfort. My typically clingy toddler waddled off to play while I spoke to the caretakers, feeling at home immediately. In the 6mo we've been here, our baby has absolutely thrived - she's so good at sign language, she's getting more social, and drop offs are easier than ever - she'll happily go join the other kids for circle time. She's so happy every time I pick her up - not because it's finally time to go home, but because she seems to genuinely have had a wonderful day. I'm a very emotional mom, and I've felt just as cared for by the women at MoSC as my baby has been. The times we have had tough drop offs, they're quick to let me know she has adjusted well and is back to being happy within the 10mins after I leave. They help me transition to the next stage of daycare as much as they help her transition. I think we all know Ms. Georgette is amazing, but I also want to shout out Ms. Michelle and Ms. Karina who give me a thorough update on our baby's day every time I pick her up. And just a general shout out to every caretaker I've spoken to - at the front desk and in the infant room.
