If groomer cannot fulfill the request at drop off, then a call should be made to allow owners determine if services should be continued. We have been coming for over a year, and this is the first time we encountered such poor service. Greatly disappointed and will post photos.

I was searching for a place for my french bulldog puppy to stay and socialize when he was younger and I was working long hours. He had several successful stays with them and even boarded with them before. In January, I had to go out of town for several days, and needed a place for my baby to stay. He is now a two year old, well adjusted pup, who has stayed and played in more than one playcare situation without issues. I dropped him off on a Thursday, healthy and happy. I got the call no pet owner wants to get on Friday morning... I could hear my dog in distress in the background as the staff member was trying to explain that he was "suddenly" in respiratory distress. He had been playing and "all of a sudden" seemed like he was struggling. I was in a panic, states away, as she was asking me what I would like her to do. It was tough to decide, only hearing and not seeing, the level of his condition by phone. She was about to offer him water, which is NOT something you should do when an frenchie is overheated and in distress. I asked her to keep him in a quiet space for a little bit and see if he was able to recover. She said she would call me back in about 30 minutes to see if he had improved. The next phone call I got was from an emergency vet, about 15 minutes later. Boulder was brought in (by the Fur Baby staff, without my knowledge), almost lifeless. According to the veterinary staff he was barely breathing and was turning blue. They called to get permission to intubate him in order to try to save his life. Over the next few hours I played phone tag with the vet as they told me the only thing that would save him was luck and prayers. Fortunately for us, the vet was top notch, and he was able to recover and eventually breathe on his own. We almost lost our happy, healthy 2 year old puppy....and we still don't know why. I know that my dog can overheat and struggle when he plays EXCESSIVELY for extended periods of time in very hot weather. He would have had to have been in distress and gone unnoticed for a considerable amount of time to end up in the condition he did. The women on the phone from Fur Baby's admitted that they know there were notes in his file that alerted staff to pay close attention, that he needed to limit his play time and level of play...but still, he ended up in distress. Although they refunded the remainder of the days he didn't stay (upon MY request), there was no other follow up to check on the welfare of my dog, no explanation or apology for what happened, and a very large vet bill to pay. Check the google reviews...other pet owners were not as fortunate and lost their dogs in similar unexplained incidents. I understand that issues arise, things happen, but please think carefully about putting your dog in a large "playcare" situation while you are away! Especially dogs that require expert care!

After being dropped off at Square Dog Ranch a couple hours later Cathy said dog has a high fever. I had no idea. she contacted me and went to emergency vet. Clyde has a serious ear infection and the vets put a drain in his ear and Cathy would look after it. She also had him recheck before we got home. Week later we take him for his last recheck and he is doing wonderful. I will forward be grateful for the love and care Cathy and her crew gave my dog.

Biggie knows the most important commands and obeys them while offleash. These commands are: sit, down, heel, come, place, and break. If I were you, I would definitely book with Quis --especially if you have a large dog that could be quite intimidating or problematic without proper training. Additionally, I board Biggie with Quis regularly when I go out of town, so I get the best of both worlds: boarding and training reinforcement. I am truly grateful for the tremendous training and care that Quis provides for my Biggie. They killed two of my cats and they could put your animals at risk too. A number of years ago one…read moreof my cats became ill, this place was are regular place but weren't open (Sunday). We took ill cat to the animal hospital. There we learned our cat had an enlarged heart and needed to be on meds. We went for a follow up a week later and they demanded we take the cat off the heart meds even though we told them the animal hospital stressed the cat needed to be on them. Two weeks later our cat passed away. Fast forward to today, chalk the first one up to honest mistake. This next mistake, unforgivable. My elderly cat (16 yo) came in due to a drop in weight. Concerned they did blood work and a host of other tests. They said the cat was just old and otherwise it was in "top health." A number of months pass and she slowly losses more energy and develops an eye infection. Again this place was unavailable to see my cat but could squeeze it in for an extra hundred bucks. I again am forced to take her to the animal hospital. There they look at her file and said not only does she most likely have CANCER, but her one lung is gone, and she has FAILING kidneys. Again, this isn't something they did tests for, this is something already in her file that Governors Animal Hospital REFUSED and NEGLECTED to ever tell me about. Don't take your animal here, they are not safe. They will lie to you, and they will charge you top dollar to do so.

I am thrilled to say that I've found that quality of care for my "furry family" at Brenford Animal Hospital, P.A. at their 4118 North DuPont Hwy in Dover location. I am a recent permanent resident of Dover and had adopted my furry felines just before the pandemic shut everything down. As both had all their vaccines etc., were in good overall health, and remained completely "indoor" pets, I had no need to seek any medical attention for either of them until now. I never had felines before and although I did have a wonderful four-legged furry friend for many years before them, she was of the canine breed. Needless to say, felines are totally different. When my "Oreo" exhibited the need for medical attention I looked for reviews for Veterinarians in the area. I write this review because generally people write complaints about experiences, but sadly when they are happy neglect to write compliments and give thanks to those companies and peoples that deserve gratitude to be spelled out. I want people to know about Brenford Animal Hospital, P.A. at 4118 Noth DuPont Hwy in Dover, DE. From my initial call just before the practice closed for the day, through the past few days of communication, everyone I've interacted with at this practice has been wonderful! I don't say that lightly either. By the time I assessed that Oreo needed medical attention and located a veterinarian practice it was near the closing of their work day. Megan was my first point of contact she listened to the concerns I had for Oreo, spoke with the doctor and discusses some options. I ultimately, called back just a few minutes before they closed, spoke with Megan again and booked Oreo for a morning appointment. Megan didn't rush me off the phone, she afforded me time beyond closing to begin the paperwork needed for the morning appointment - she could have had me go "online" to do it myself but graciously extended to me the courtesy of doing it for me and didn't make me feel for a moment that I was imposing on her. My husband and I took Oreo in for the morning appointment, and we both were impressed at the cleanliness of the office and of the examination room. Jacquelynn assisted Dr. Kern's and was the first to interact with Oreo. She was wonderful with him. He has never let a human handle him for the length of time that she needed to and it was as if he'd always known her. I was so impressed! Dr. Kern also had that same effect on Oreo. Oreo had a thorough exam and we were given guidance of what we needed to do to help him get well. I spoke with Dr. Kern's the following day via phone for follow-up and also went into the office to get some recommendations on "treats" for Oreo and Steven at the reception desk listened to my concerns and helped me. I truly felt every person I've identified in this review cared for Oreo's wellness and was compassionate to my concerns for caring for him. They are truly a "team" and clearly share the same attributes that create a practice environment that is exceptional! I thank them and am so thrilled that they are in my community! I know that my furry family will always have the best of care for their medical needs at this practice and which them all professional and personal success!

During the appointment, the veterinarian, a short older caucasian woman, repeatedly yelled at the veterinary technicians in front of us. The entire room became visibly tense, and MY GIRLS - MY FIVE YEAR OLD SPAYED CATS WHO ARE MY ONLY CHILDREN - who had already been stressed by being in an unfamiliar environment... became even more agitated. No animal should be examined in an environment where staff are being screamed at. The veterinarian whom I believe her name was Dr. Gallagher, then raised her voice toward me and instructed me to stay away from my own cat because she claimed she knew my cat would scratch me. This was particularly inappropriate considering she had never met me or my cat before that day. My cat's behavior was far more likely a response to the chaotic, high-stress atmosphere that had been created in the exam room. I remained respectful and civil throughout the visit because I did not want to escalate the situation or create additional stress for my pets. However, I left feeling shocked by how both the staff and I were treated. The veterinary technicians deserved far better than to be spoken to that way, and so did the clients. This experience fell well below the level of professionalism I expect from a veterinary practice. Unfortunately, instead of feeling confident in my pets' care, I left feeling uncomfortable, embarrassed, and disappointed. I sincerely hope the practice addresses this behavior because neither employees nor clients should have to experience it.
