Amazing place for ice cream in North Augusta. I was told that this place has really great ice cream so I decided to come here after work but I got gas first. It didn't take me long to find this place and I didn't waste any time going into the parlor. The interior was fantastic. It reminded me of what it was back in the day going to retro diner. The people there were friendly and patient as I asked what the flavors were like. I wound up going with a lemon custard waffle cone and paying $3.30 This is awesome. read more

Clearly a community hang-out, from the teenagers scooping ice-cream flirting with the boys just in from football practice, to the grandparents bringing their granddaughter in for a treat, to a young couple enjoying each others company. The old games awesome. The ice cream good--not great--but good. The only strange thing is the overabundance of hello kitty. And the copious signs saying "Oh my God, don't let your kid touch anything." Seriously? Then put it up on a high shelf! I felt like we could have enjoyed ourselves a lot more if we weren't constantly trying to keep our kids away from the pretty, shiny, crinkly-wrapped toys. Cutest Icecream Parlor EVER! The two employees behind the counter were great and so friendly. I had the cherry vanilla and my husband ate the Charlie Brown (peanut butter and chocolate flavor). The icecream was so rich and made so very well. So here is the thing. We know this place because we happen to utilize the 13th street bridge to go into downtown Augusta quite often. When I say that it was worth the time to stop in I mean it! They also have very cute and fun little gifts in their shop. I was traveling through Augusta last week and after having a pretty good hamburger at a local farm to table place I decided to get some ice cream. I found this place online and drove across the bridge into South Carolina and found this place just up the road from the bridge. I got peach ice cream because I was thinking that since it's July and the state I was just In is known for peaches this should be really good. Truthfully it was just OK. It tasted like ice cream made with peach flavoring and not really with peaches so I was a little disappointed. I mean really it just tasted fake. Now the company to come on here and tell me that it's not fake and that they use real peaches .but I'm not sure I would believe them. By the look of it I am sure that generations of local families have shared memories having gotten ice cream there and I wish them the best but fortunately I'll never be back in Augusta or North Augusta and so I will not have to waste my time and calories there again. read more

The only thing I regret is that I've lived in the Augusta area for over 20 years and it was my first time ever venturing into this AH-MAY-ZING establishment. Everything was truly awesome! All the comments about the signs about not touching all the crap toys is true. Why display all this junk at eye level for kids to see and have signs that threaten? This is hell for parents. This place could really be something if they got rid of all the rude signs and tried being friendly. The people that work here really seem unhappy and are definitely not friendly. Just left from the Pink Dipper. One word of advice - if the owners are there, LEAVE and go back when they are not. First, they do not greet you when you enter their establishment. Second, they skimp on the ice cream scoops. I paid for FOUR scoops of ice cream but it looks as if I only received TWO! With these people, who you are is what drives the service. If they know you, you are treated well and if they don't - well you can read the other negative reviews about that.
