She's conveniently located downtown, her prices are great, and she doesn't lash count (which many salons do). Booking with her is super easy through her online booking system and if you have any questions, she's great at responding in a reasonable amount of time during business hours. Traci is also incredibly knowledgable and can answer any questions you may have to make sure you get the most out of your lashes, including the appropriate time to come back for a fill to keep your lash game at 100!

I use reviews a lot so I hope I can help you in making your decision. I was approached by Aliya on Yelp to see if I wanted to get my lashes done. I was a little skeptical at first but I saw some of her previous work and thought sure! I needed to get my lashes done so timing was great. Excellent decision on my part! Aliya is wonderful. She's very patient and while the process does take a bit longer with her than I've experienced in the past, she does great work! The first time I went to her I played it safe and asked for a more natural set. But if you've ever gotten your lashes done before, you know the second time around you want more drama. And that's exactly what Aliya gave me on my second visit! I love love love my lashes and I am definitely going back to see her! I used to go to Winks and while they are very good, Aliya is professional, at a better price point and my lashes look just as amazing and have stayed in place as long as they have if I got them done there. Cons: As I said the process is longer and also the bed/table that you have to lay on is super uncomfortable for me. I have a finicky lower back so laying in the same position for more than an hour ends up hurting (I'm a side sleeper!) If you're not like me, you'll be perfectly fine :) But that's the only con. I also didn't get aftercare instructions. I got them waxed at 10am and this pic was taken at 8pm. My skin is sore and red. I was researching piercing studios to get lobe piercings with my elderly mother. I had positive experiences emailing back and forth with Gold Hollow, so I bought a few gift cards for a Black Friday special, and pre-paid for a few earrings online in advance, and I booked a couple of appointment slots (for 90 minutes total) for our piercings, and I paid almost $700 in advance of the appointment. Unfortunately, we arrived late. I ran up ahead to sign us in for our appointments, and I was met with two women staring at me from behind the desk. One of them appeared angry upon my entrance. I was a bit frazzled from rushing up the stairs, but introduced myself, and the angry woman responded by telling me I was late, asking if I called (she was sitting next to the phone and knew I hadn't), and told me that we couldn't be seen today as it's very busy. Bewildered, I said I guess I'll call to rebook, walked back down the stairs, but then remembered that I had reserved a lengthy slot and pre-paid hundreds of dollars in anticipation of our visit. I went back up to ask if there was anything else that could be done, and she begins raising her voice at me and says, "YOU CAN'T BE SEEN TODAY. YOU CAN'T JUST COME BACK IN ALL UPSET AND EXPECT TO GET AN APPOINTMENT!" I pointed out to her that she seemed a lot more upset about this than I was, and said that I would like all my purchases to be refunded. I had no idea who this hostile woman was, as she did not introduce herself, but I slowly realized when she said that this is "her" place and she doesn't have to serve anyone, that this was the owner herself! Appointments are not required at Gold Hollow, and it was quite clear that our piercer was not otherwise occupied with other clients. That's not to say it was fine to be late, that was on us, however, I could not see any real reason to be unable to carry on as normal with such a long slot booked and paid for. Of note, I had confirmed in advance with a staff member that this was "more than enough" time for our piercings. If there were limitations with what could be done with the remaining time left, or a wait time as someone else was being seen, I would have been open to this. There was no one else waiting, and the owner was just sitting at the front desk. We also noticed that there was a sign outside proclaiming that walk-ins are welcome. So, walk-ins were welcome, but we were not. To add insult to injury, within the week, they posted a video to their social media pages mocking the situation and shaming late customers, depicting customers as entitled, ridiculous and unreasonable. The video takes great creative liberties: the depicted customer is two hours late, and the service provider remains calm, and is busy with other clients. Very interesting. Very mature and professional behaviour on display here. Of note, the owner did not refund the deposit for the appointment, and I had to dispute it through my credit card as a fraudulent charge.

I could accept that lateness is grounds for cancellation (though it did seem unnecessary considering there were still 70 minutes left to do 4 lobe piercings, the sign outside welcomes walk-ins, and it was NOT busy). Instead of a simple cancellation, Gina took this as an opportunity to immediately talk down to my family, making it seem like our lateness was an act of personal malice. We did nothing but arrive late, yet were treated with open contempt. This reaction was wildly disproportionate to the offense, especially for new customers who corresponded via email, phone, and had already spent over $600 upfront. I'd recommend future customers prepare for an unprofessional encounter in case Gina is having another bad day/week, as her customer service skills are nonexistent when inconvenienced. My even stronger recommendation would be to find somewhere else to go.

I was told about their piercing technology and that it's not a piercing gun. It was sort of like a clamping tool that could be controlled by the person working there. She was attentive and helpful. It's been at least 4 months since my piercing and it was never infected (I cleaned at the beginning with a Claire's saline solution). A few earrings were out of stock because of their popularity I guess. Would return again for another ear piercing (I don't think they do other piercings)!

Irene, the owner, greeted me warmly and led me into the procedure room where I was met by the sounds of cool Jazz (Irene's a fan) and a super soft treatment table. We discussed options, my physical limitations (hooded eyelids and glasses) and the look that I wanted (full cat eye). The procedure was quick (20-30 minutes). Since I was a newbie, Irene talked me through the entire procedure. At the end Irene added a few more lashes to perfect the look, she is meticulous and gentle. I've tried strip lashes before and they were heavy and uncomfortable, I didn't enjoy them at all. My experience with the Cinderella lashes are a totally different story. They're so light, sometimes I forget that I'm even wearing them. Irene did an excellent job getting me the look that I wanted. I would definitely consider coming back and having it done for special occasions like weddings or other occasions.

These are synthetic mink lashes, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I got the mini set, which took about 50 minutes. Took a little nap. After I was done, my eye felt a tiny bit heavy, but felt very natural. I took care of the lashes as instructed by Irene for the first week and half and then I slacked off. Most of the lashes lasted about 2 weeks. I still have a few after 4 weeks. I was worried that more of my natural lashes would fall out than usual, but it was pretty natural. Couple things to consider: It's spring, and some days I wake up with puffy eyes (allergies). So when my lids are puffy, the root of the synthetic lashes dig in a little (they are a tad stiff) I had to pluck out a few lashed because of this. A couple time the synthetic lashes fell in my eye. And getting a regular lash in your eye is bad enough; a thick, synthetic lash is VERY annoying. I don't think I will do this regularly, but I'll certainly come back to Irene when I get t done agian.
