Love this place! I was happy to find a cute, quaint, beauty salon uptown as I used to go downtown for my lashes. I researched the technicians and saw really great reviews on Celina so I went with her. The system of letters for lashes is a bit confusing as most places may refer to wispy/volume/etc. so I definitely had to do a bit more research. It was nice to have some photos for reference. Celina guided me through the process really well and I loved how thorough the questionnaire was. It asks for your purpose and how recent you had your lashes done etc. She did an amazing job and my lashes lasted so much longer than I expected! When I went for a return visit, she had pulled up my previous data and asked if I'd like the same style which I really liked the ease of pulling up my profile. The price isn't too bad. It's average and expected. It's nice if you have a points card and bonus if you pay cash. read more

This place in on the second floor, on top of a bubble tea place. It was a little odd using the side entrance to go upstairs but when you get to the actual place it is very clean and cute. Remember to take your shoes off and wear slippers when you are inside! Once they set you up with a consultant, you get to decide the style of your lashes. This includes length, thickness, curl and design. They will guide you through what looks best on you dont worry! Eyelash extensions are done in a room with about 5 or so beds with curtains in between. You can hear the conversations around you... Or the snoring from whoever had fallen asleep. Lol and yes I guarantee that you will fall asleep. All the technicians have been very gentle in the applications I've had. They had signs up that they will increasing their prices soon, not sure if that is in effect but I think for thr service that you get and the quality of the lashes its pretty much worth it. Elysia Beauty is my new staple for getting eyelash extensions. I love how friendly and professional everyone is. This is my review after my 3rd visit and I highly recommend getting eyelashes extensions here. I had my extensions done by Tasha. And I love how gentle she is. I could barely feel her applying the lashes that I almost fell asleep. She explains what she is going to do and has great recommendations. I had initially just wanted 2D and 3D. But I asked if I could get a fluffier look, doll eye style, she suggested 4D and 3D and get the length between 11mm to 13mm. I hesitated because I didnt want the lashes to look too obvious. She also suggested I get D curl which was slightly more curled than the one I got previously. I trusted her and said yes. When she finally finished and showed me the final look it was exactly what I wanted. I was super satisfied with the lashes. She is now my go-to lash tech. She did such a great job. And another reason why I love them is because they don't touch my eyeglasses lens, which used to be a big concern of mine. I got so many compliments on how great they look. I stopped getting eyelash extensions done in 2018 because of the price, time consuming process and the fact that the woman was getting too big for her britches. I started researching places a couple weeks ago, and booked last minute on Friday for a Saturday afternoon appointment here. I was excited but very hesitant. I saw the reviews, and thought I would give it a go. The atmosphere of this place is incredible and serene. I felt welcomed, and relaxed while being greeted, and did not feel the need to engage in unnecessary conversation while my extensions were being done. Gentle, time efficient, and informative would be the words I'd use to describe the service. The price was excellent and I hope I tipped accordingly. I will definitely be back! read more

I've been here about 4 times now to get my lashes done and refilled. I've booked with both Celine and Katie and both were very good and gentle. I usually get the N set 2D lashes if I'm not mistaken, and they last over a month if I really take care of them. Whenever I've gone here I've felt very comfortable and welcomed. They have several lash tables beside each other and sometimes you can hear the chatter of others but it's not bad and they play music which is relaxing. They also have some sort of rewards program which I wasn't informed of until by 3rd visit, so make sure you mention if they forget. They give you a lash brush as you leave, I think you could find a better quality one though. If you're looking for the entrance it's on the side of the building towards the bubble tea store, there's a door and a flight of stairs. I'd definitely recommend if you're looking to try out a new lash place, they are very helpful with helping you decide what you want with lots of examples. read more

I visited Elysia Beauty Bar for the first time before my vacation. I've gone to previous lash places before but sadly my usual place got booked up and I decided to try someplace new and saw good reviews for it. Sadly, I got lost trying to find the entrance, still not sure if the actual entrance was on the second floor or not but that's the door I used. When I walked in, I waited a while until someone from reception could help me. I booked my appointment with Nadia and she was quite helpful in terms of helping me decide what I wanted. She recommended me to get the N set $70 with 2D but at the time I was not informed that 2D would be extra cost. It's ok, I was still happy with the outcome so I was fine to pay the extra $10. The bed I laid on was a bit lumpy so it wasn't super comfortable for me after an hour of lying on it. As well, the room is shared with other technicians so the people next to me were speaking the whole time and I could hear the music coming from the earbuds which I found was a bit noisy. I was a bit thrown off at the end when I was told that my lashes could touch water whenever and I could use any type of makeup remover, oil included. I was always told that my lashes shouldn't touch water for 24 hours at least and to only use oil free makeup remover to clean off my lashes. That was quite confusing for me. I would've also appreciated a little lash care kit that I usually receive at other places but they didn't have any. Overall, I do recommend this place to try for lash extensions if you're on a budget for nice lashes. I just wish I had a better experience to rave about. read more

My review is based off of my first experience, as my second time wasn't as good and I'm hoping it's based on a fluke / lash technician. I think they do a wonderful job with the initial consultation. I've never had a salon provide a similar experience where they literally walk you through the different lengths, thickness, and curls. They have photos too (but they're pretty old, and not a huge variety). I was really happy with my first set of lashes. It lasted probably 6-7 weeks without looking ridiculous and sparse. I went recently, and this time the technician didn't even put the lashes all the way to the outskirts of my eye. It was pretty strange because she did on one eye and not the other. When I pointed it out it was like she didn't realize and offered to add a few more on. The first application went flawlessly, but this second time I think the technician did a poorer job because I feel like I had to adjust a bit to it. All in all, I think there's variation with the abilities of the technicians. Also - they're more expensive than other places because they don't offer a common discount. Although they are offering a discount for writing a review (I would give this a 4.5 if I could, unfortunately without the half star I'll give them the benefit of the doubt). If I go back a third time, I'll adjust accordingly. read more

Absolutely smitten by Elysia Beauty Bar! It's so good that I will take any excuse to talk about it, haha. This hidden diamond is tucked away on a second floor of a building just off of Yonge St, up a flight of steps. If you're not familiar with the area, it shares the same block as the Tea Shop 168 [couldn't miss that place even if you tried - trust me.]. Had the pleasure of having my manicure done by Sophie, who is just the funniest and sweetest person ever! Earlier this year, around February, I went through a gel nail fiasco at a popular yelp nail spot that has left my nails horribly damaged. She was quick to bring up the compromised integrity of my nails, and even asked a few questions to get a clearer sense of how they got to that state. Then expressed her concern that my nails may be too weak to undergo the gel process. (Gotta love that honesty.) Letting her know that I understood that my nails were pretty weak, and that I didn't mind, she went ahead with process. There's nothing negative I can say about the experience; Sophie was great company to chit chat with, and remained very precise throughout. Never did she shy away from asking for clarification or confirmation about the reference picture I brought along. The 1.5 hours really breezed by. (They also have an awesome selection of jewels and embellishments to adorn your nails with, so you're only limited by your imagination and wallet!) I believe Elysia, feel awful for not asking for her name, shaped my brows in a couple of strokes. This was the first time I was getting my brows professionally groomed, and into a thinner shape, so I was pretty nervous all week. But she did a remarkable job, considering the hot mess my brows were in. Sophie actually took over in the fine details and snagging those pesky strays. She was so sweet that she even offered to fill in my brows for me for fun. I can truthfully say my brows are on full fleek thanks to these girls. What I appriciate most about Elysia's, other than the lovely staff and fantastic quality of services they offer, is how much heart this business has; the character of the menu and space just gushes with hard work, patience, and attention to detail. The amount of charm and welcomeness it exudes seems unprecedented [compared to my experiences at other beauty related establishments] and I found myself trying to figure out how soon I could come back, well before my appointment was even part way done! It has a friendly vibe and the aesthetician that did my eyelashes was very knowledgeable. It was my first time and I had a lot of questions, but she answered all of them for me. I just got my lashes done here really late Monday night at 7 pm and 1) wow they have late times for an hour + long appointment and 2) they were super easy to find! With the great reviews, I took my first time ever doing lash extensions experience here. As it was my very first time, we did a quick and easy consultation! Love the different options given! I love that my technician took time to look at my eyes and give me suggestions. After over an hour, my lashes were done and they look amazing! Many of my friends do lashes and sometimes I can see their lashes separate from their natural lashes.... not this place! But what I got was: - Hair consultation on what types of hair problems I'm probably facing(he was spot on..) and what type of styles would match my skin tone, and profile -A hair cut - Trimmed eyebrows -Hair wash-with a free head massage lol(when I made the appointment I did not ask for the wash but since he needed to give me one to properly style my hair he gave it free of charge) -lesson on how to style my hair at home. I have been loyal to my lash tech for over a year, but I just might jump ship! I made an appointment with Romy after reading all the rave reviews, as my lash tech is on maternity leave. Making an appointment was easy, and I was able to correspond via email and text to change my appointment. The location is convenient, a few minute walk from North York Centre station. This place is truly a beauty bar. They offer lash, nail, skincare and hair services. The facilities are clean, with rustic, feminine decor. For Friday at 4pm there were lots of staff and clients milling about, just proving how popular this place is. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I was greeted immediately and met with my tech, Romy, for a consult. They have samples of the various styles, lengths, curls, density, and designs for lash extensions so this would be very helpful for newbies or even those looking to explore different lash styles. They offer so many options, which I really like. The service by Romy was incredible. There is at least one (from what I could tell) dedicated lash extension room (bar) where there are several beds, separated by curtains, so that a multiple techs and clients can be serviced concurrently. There was quiet, soft music playing and for most of my appointment it was really quiet in the room. I got the G set 2D C curl and loved the result! Romy finished in about an hour and was very gentle, I fell asleep. The other interesting thing to note is she did not have to use surgical tape around my eyes to protect or expose lashes for easy application. I really appreciated this as that is probably my least favourite part of getting lash extensions; it's always a bit uncomfortable and I don't like having the sensitive skin around the eye area tugged. The price for my service was $90 but if I return within 4 weeks, there are discounted prices, so it'd be $70. I've been having lash extensions for years, and I've tried many different salons in many different cities. My go-to is usually Japanese style for the comfort and the health of my lashes, but last time I was in town I really needed a lash extension. I decided to give this Korean lash salon a try because of the good reviews and fair price. I"M SO GLAD I DID!!! First, my technician (Sorry forgot her name) was super gentle. She had this super gentle tone when she explained things to me after I told her I had sensitive eyes and needed the surgical-grade adhesive. We ended up using their regular glue because I didn't feel any irritation like in other Korean lash salons. During the whole process I felt very comfortable and at ease. The results were fabulous! I always go with the natural style because it's healthier for my lashes and not too odd when I have no makeup on. My technician did just that. Very natural lashes, just longer and fuller than my original lashes. She gave me a little lash comb and patiently told me how to take care of my lashes even though I've done it a thousand times. The price came out to very fair. Even after a hefty tip I still ended up paying way less than what I normally did in Seattle. I can't say enough good things about this salon. I went there as first time experience for eyelash extensions. The so called 'consultant' staff was not helpful at all. She just had me to sign a form which was nonsense for a client that was clueless about the different styles, length, curve, and even the number of lashes needed. I kept asking for her help to explain but she spoke broken English and through all she was trying to say i realized she was not willing to give me a damn suggestion because she was afraid to give wrong advice! So I picked the N set with 2D, 12 m length and the B curve with cat eye look. And i was hoping that it would give me a different enhancement yet natural look. Well after 2 hours when the job was done I was expecting a nice different look but that 100 bucks that i paid was self explanatory because i didn't look any different as higher prices give always more satisfaction. I find that the issue was the consultation part since i had no price concern my concern was to not get a dramatic look. But i went with the wrong choice as the first experience. I came in a few minutes later than my friend and after waiting for 15 mins, I asked whether I was going to wait much longer. The receptionist told me there's only one technician and that I would have to wait til 2.30ish. NO ONE bothered to tell us that our appointments were after another. She did my facial and it was amazing. I booked my lashes appointment with Emi right after the facial with Elysia. Emi was helpful, gentle and skillful. I'm not used to having so many options so I wanted to try something new. She helped me with final decision on the 2D, G set with brown color. Great lashes but the place has a bit of a lash factory feel to it since I was in the same room as other ladies getting their lashes done too. Price was average. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to write out their form by hand question and all since their printer wasn't working. I usually get my lashes done when I have something special coming up. I saw my friend's lashes and thought I'd give it a try at this place. It was a bit far from where I live, but easy to get to cuz it's beside North York centre. It's much bigger inside than what it looks from the outside. I got the volume lashes for $105 plus tax. The price depends on how much lashes they put on you. I have monolids and short lashes. I normally pay $150 for a regular set elsewhere. The lady who did my lashes was very professional and my eyes felt comfortable during the process. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to look extra special! read more

This place is amazing,affordable and clean. I cant rave enough about this place especially after I had been to so many places in toronto for eyelash extension no place compared to elysia's! The entrance is a little strange and maybe throw you off a little bit but once your inside it feels like a beauty bar. You have your consultation and then straight into the room! This seems like a strange thing to say but big bonus point for this place is they ask you if you need to use the washroom or drink of water before beginning which is actually so nice to be asked as you may be laying down for a while. I have had my lashes done by isabelle and refills done by soo and both technicians are just fantastic. They made me feel so comfortable and peaceful during the process. Many people have commented on the fact they speak Korean when you are in the room but trust me it is very quiet as well today when getting my lashes done with soo she even was telling me what they were tlaling about to make me feel included. The work of these two ladies is unreal and my lashes last about 3 weeks though I could have done another week I just love getting touch ups. I had my semi-permanent upper eyeliner tattoo done here with Elysia. Both the initial and touch-up session went very well with little to no pain during the process. The recovery process was also very quick, my eyes were only a little bit swollen during the first day after the procedure. Elysia was very kind and was asking if it was painful, uncomfortable, etc. throughout the procedure. Overall, my eyeliner tattoo looks very natural and I am highly satisfied and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in getting a semi-permanent tattoo! read more

I had a great experience getting my eyelashes done today at this cozy gem!! The beauty bar was easy to find, its next to teashop 168, on the second floor. Look for their pink sign, and theres stairs outside that will lead you right to their place. First impressions was that it was clean, cozy and quiet! I felt relaxed as soon as i walked in, and was promptly welcomed by my esthetician. The place was quite spacious. They have different areas for manis/pedis, make up tattooing, as well as private rooms for skin care treatments and eyelash extensions. The esthetician was very friendly and explained different options (natural vs volume, length etc). I decided to do a blend of a natural look with more volume but slightly less length. For those who want more oomph, they also offer a 'glamorous' look. Overall, i felt she did an awesome job and the experience was great. Never once did i felt rushed, unlike other places ive been to. The eyelashes also sit nicely and are quite comfy. In speaking w the estheticians, apparently theyve had years of experience doing this when they lived in Korea. One of my friends told me about this place. I have never gotten my eyelashes done before, so I was a little scared and nervous. I heard the negatives of getting lashes done. But I wanted to try the experience and go from there. Vivian who was my eyelash technician, made me feel so comfortable. We had a friendly conversation about the type of styles available. She was very kind and helpful. The process was about 2 hours. The parking situation is really bad. We had gotten a parking at the beginning as I was doing my lashes, another lady came and asked me to move my car. My friend was sitting outside and they told her to move the car because the manager was coming. Not sure why the priority shifted to the manager being more important than client. Got lash extensions here. Some of the staff here cannot speak English so if you cannot speak Korean, you might have a problem telling them what you want. One thing I didn't like was that the staff gossip about the costumers in Korean while they're doing their eyelashes since some costumers do not understand Korean. Pretty disappointed with Elysia's microblading because I saw all the amazing reviews for her lashes and some for brows. Watch out because on instagram the photos don't show a good frontal view of both brows. My brows are pretty uneven, because unlike other places, she does not draw the whole shape out and measure it for evenness. She does microblading freehand and so one of my brows is thicker, higher and the front is really uneven. When you try to tell her she insists it's even in her eyes and quite rude about it. Hoping to fix it at the touch up, same thing happened. For something of a permanent look on ur face, you're going to want it done right. There is no catering to what the client wants. Would not recommend for brows. read more
