I had struggled with anxiety for over half my life, to the point where even leaving my house felt overwhelming. As my anxiety worsened, my world kept getting smaller, I wasn't living much of a life. Starting this journey was scary, but Deanne made me feel completely heard during my consultation, and I knew I was in the right place to heal. I've now completed 17 sessions, and I'm honestly amazed at how much my life has changed. I'm facing triggers head-on with little to no difficulty, and I finally feel like I'm living again. If you're on the fence, go--show up scared, show up unsure. I only wish I had found this sooner. Thank you, especially to Bennett, for helping me through my hardest moments and celebrating my progress every step of the way.

I had so many indescribable symptoms and was no longer living life, spending months in bed, not recovering. Through oxygen therapy, one day I had a moment of clarity that neurofeedback was what I needed next. I searched area clinics and though it was a long drive for me, I chose this clinic based upon the heartfelt reviews. From the moment I walked in I knew I was where I neededto be. I cannot say enough on how transformational it has been for me, I would not be functional enough to move into the next phases of recovery without it. Deanne and Bennett are so caring and knew the treatments I needed and worked with me, how my system tolerated, as it was a series of symptoms I was working through. They were both very knowledgeable and I was in the absolute best hands. There are so many ways neurofeedback can help people, I truly believe this saved my life. Thank you Bennett and Deanne for everything

I usually don't write reviews, especially not reviews for someone whom I have only had one…read moreinterview session with. But I decided to write this one because it was an interesting/perplexing experience to me. I had a 50 minute interview session with this therapist. At the end of the interview, we both agreed that we are not a good match to each other. I read some of the good reviews for him before scheduling an appointment, and I can certainly see how this therapist can be helpful to certain patients and I can fully understand why they like him. I was hoping that I would have a good experience with him myself when I scheduled the first session. I have done a lot of deep work before. Everything the other reviewers were talking about and everything this therapist was saying about my patterns in the interview session made sense to me. These comments/suggestions resonated with what I worked on before and what I am looking for in a therapist. I was really hopeful that this therapist would be a good match for me. He has the insight and the analytical mind set, he clearly knows deep issues and wants to help patients to make progress quickly. Part of me was saying to myself: This should work. And yet we didn't connect by the end of the interview session. He was watching me, knowing that there was trauma and painful struggle, but he seemed to expect the patient to open up to him and go deep in the first 50 minutes of an interview session. I didn't get the impression that he got me at the emotional level and was holding the patient in their struggles, that he got the hint that I knew what I was doing and I am very capable of talking openly in therapy, but just not in the first 50 minutes, with someone I hadn't made the connection yet. To me, this was an interview session and I needed to see if there was empathy and connection first before exploring something deep and painful. In fact, I almost got the impression that maybe his emphasis is not so much to heal the patient in the therapeutic relationship dynamic, but rather to provide insight so that the understanding of the issue is reached quickly. His approach can work very well to certain patients, but I have seen other great therapists who provide the same type of insights, deep into childhood or traumatic experiences, making connections to the present pervasive patterns...etc. But in addition to all of that, the other therapists I had good experiences with also had an emphasis in the healing aspect of the therapeutic relationship, so that the patient experiences the interpersonal relationship differently than the bad ones they had in their past. For some reason, this healing aspect of the patient-therapist relationship dynamics was not experienced in my first 50 minutes of an interview session with this therapist.

After so much that was helpful in other areas, it took me completely by surprise that he was so resistant to helping me in this regard (wouldn't even discuss it with me beyond a flat refusal, didn't give me a name of someone else I could consult). I had to sort it all out with all new providers that didn't know me at all. The trust we spent building up over years was instantly vaporized. Five stars for the PTSD work, one star for the gender related issues, average it out to three stars.

A Life-Changing Therapist and Guide…read more I cannot speak highly enough of the depth, wisdom, and compassion Cassaundra brings to every session we have had for the almost three years. She has walked beside me through the most difficult seasons of my life. She's supported me through navigating terminal illness and my mom's passing, profound workplace challenges, suicidal loss of my uncle, and deeply personal crises following a wave of devastating losses in relationships. What sets her apart is not only her clinical skill, but her unmatched ability to hold space for the entire human experience with compassion. She has helped me process unimaginable grief, reframe destructive thought patterns, and reconnect with the strongest, most grounded parts of myself. Her presence is steady, intuitive, and deeply healing. Thank you for helping me find clarity in chaos, purpose in pain, and the courage to face each day with grace and resilience. If you are seeking a therapist who will not only support you but transform your understanding of yourself and your healing journey, Cassaundra is that person. The waiting room was beyond uncomfortably loud, overstimulating, and we were left waiting far past our scheduled appointment time. Once we finally got into her office for my daughter's assessment, I quickly realized why the waiting room noise was so intense: Dr. Shishodia speaks so loudly that it borders on yelling, and it absolutely compromises patient privacy. Anyone sitting in the waiting room could easily hear private conversations happening behind closed doors. Today, I called to ask a simple and reasonable question about what information she typically includes in a patient's visit summary. Instead of answering, she became defensive, rude, condescending, and noticeably angry almost immediately. As I tried to calmly explain why I was asking, she continually spoke over me, raised her voice even more, and wouldn't allow me to get a full sentence out. She even insinuated that I was trying to "put her in the middle of two parents," when all I was asking was what general details might appear in her summary of the single appointment she had with my child. At that point, I had to interrupt her to tell her how inappropriate and disrespectful her behavior was. Based on her reaction and the hostility she showed over such a basic question, it's hard to imagine she is taking thorough or accurate patient notes. I have never snapped at a healthcare provider before. I understand the strain on our healthcare system and generally have a high level of patience and empathy. But the way this doctor communicates, both during the appointment and on the phone, is some of the worst bedside manner I have ever encountered. Questions about medical records or visit summaries should never be met with confrontation, hostility, or unprofessional behavior. I strongly urge other parents to be aware of this before bringing their children here.

Stays range from 30-60 days to up to 3 months, depending on the care plan and insurance. Newport also offers financial assistance and works with families to create affordable plans. From my experience and research, a 90-day stay is ideal to fully benefit from the residential programs. The program is robust, holistic, and Newport invests significantly in state-of-the-art care. Programming includes one personal session, one family therapy session per week, and a session with a counselor focused on coping skills and in-program issues. An additional personal session is optional if not pursuing family sessions. Clinical sessions are enhanced with evidence-based practices like equine therapy, adventure therapy, yoga, somatic yoga, CrossFit, and other location-specific activities. Weekly processing sessions, psychoeducation, and DBT groups build healthy coping skills. Cooking and baking groups helped me gain confidence in the kitchen and manage conflict, showcasing the holistic experience. The program works for those ready to commit to its structure and rigor. It's challenging but rewarding. Even for those not fully committed, Newport offers support until clients can love themselves. As with any mental health program, there can be frustrations. I believe Newport's biggest growth opportunity is improving communication, especially between day and night staff, and proactive issue-solving. While gaps in staffing occurred, my safety and care were never compromised. Experiences vary based on therapist assignments. Advocate for yourself to find the right therapeutic fit. Newport encourages respectful, solution-based communication, and I saw clients successfully change therapists for better fits. As a trans client, I initially faced insensitivity during admissions, but supportive staff addressed this. More LGBTQIA+ informed care training is needed. Similarly, clients with autism or OCD often faced communication challenges with staff. I was placed in the female young adult program and, after advocating for myself, was allowed a roommate. Newport showed growth in treating LGBTQIA+ clients over my stay, affirming that while work remains, they are improving. Newport's alumni program offers consistent support and resources for transitioning to PHP, IOP, or other outpatient care. Building a safe mental health community of lifelong friends was a highlight. Equine therapy and well-invested client experiences and outings helped me discover new hobbies. As someone with extensive experience in psych hospitals, residential, and PHP programs, I believe Newport provides exceptional care. Peers in therapy groups often recommend Newport, highlighting its strong reputation. The young adult program is particularly commendable, and I hope to see it expand to include older adults. Newport's method works, and I recommend it to clients seeking care and program directors aiming to refine their programs.
