Based on what I experienced, and as I see others have experienced while under his care, he should no longer be allowed to provide services under the VA's Community Works and Tri Care contracts. IF he is still providing services under those contracts, I'll be reaching out to the appropriate officials to ensure this "Dr" is not allowed continue to do so. He is condescending, arrogant and a bully. As a professional, he may say things you don't want to hear, or make you actually think and not just give you answers. I was skeptical at first, but he asked me to hang in there and said he could help me. It took a few sessions to get comfortable enough to really talk about the things that matter. I am still seeing him on my 4th VA extension for outside of VA care, and I am forever grateful that the VA keeps approving it. I have seen some welcomed improvements in my ability to deal with stressful or emotional situations. He truly cares about people getting better and getting past the things that haunt them.

Hopefully this will serve as a warning about this mans true nature and his lack of real caring and sensitivity for his patients. Before I begin,, i need to say that none of what im about here to say is a criticism of his form of scientific psychiatry which I fully endorse nor amino therapy which i also support. I truly believe in the natural way of curing depression. Let me begin... I had actually found out about this psychiatrist on YouTube and learned about his using amino therapy to treat depression. I was excited to find someone potentially able to help my wife with her chronic depression as I didnt want her having to be on meds. Well at the time we couldn't afford his sessions nor all the testing for my wife because he didnt accept our insurance. This was frustrating. A few years later I had some money from a 401k that i was able to pull and use to pay for full on treatments for her. I sought out Dr Gersten again. My wife started having over the phone sessions and getting all the testing done. She then started on the regime he prescribed. It was around this time that things really turned for the worst. Please keep in mind my wife is a very sensitive person and her mental fragility. I being somewhat versed in amino therapy (although not a doctor) had a few specific questions for Dr. Gersten related to his analysis of one of her test results and so my wife innocently included my questions in her email to Dr Gersten. When he saw the email he became exceedingly angry realizing these weren't my wifes questions. In the phone call session that proceeded he reprimanded my wife verbally telling her that she was deceitful. He said he was not going to treat her anymore! That she broke the trust. This horrified my wife and she was literally in tears on the phone while this man belittled her. What psychiatrist would do that to his patient that he knows is mentally fragile ? My wife truly did not know she did anything wrong by including my questions in her email. Needless to say we are glad we are not working with Dr. David Gersten he is not at all a sensitive person and scarred my wife mentally over what was an innocent email mistake. He showed his true colors that his ego and anger is more important than sensitivity to his psychiatric patients.

My name was never even in the payment agreement that you drafted for my ex-husband. There was also no loss in court luckily our judge made the right decision for the children. This was an attempted murder case and Family Court gets involved regardless when there are kids involved. Also, the fact that you look at as a winning and losing situation just shows your ineptness for your field of work. You tried to insert yourself with the court hearings in which the court turned you down. Both the D.A's office with criminal court and family court turned you down. You are more concerned about how you look and defending your false position, you manipulate and have no remorse for your behavior with minors. You have no empathy and at times your behavior was very aggressive. You are the true definition of a sociopath. You were too emotionally involved with the perpetrator who tried to murder a family, which leads me to believe that there was a sociopathic tie to this criminal. Regardless, you are a shister, a liar and beyond anything should not be allowed to work in this field. Who knows how many countless families you've screwed up because of your ego and improper ways of practice. The only reason we chose you is because you were the only therapist practicing during Covid in person in our area. This was a huge mistake on my part. I took my children to her because she was the only person open during Covid and it was a court order for reunification counseling. I don't understand how she can even be allowed to work with kids. My children were trying to open up to her about the abuse that they witnessed from the father and she called them liars and as they sat there and cried, she called me to come pick up the kids and was completely unprepared. She has no scope of how to deal with these issues when it comes to minors. She will take the side of whoever is paying her and doesn't take into consideration the welfare or well-being of minor children and special circumstances. The setting of her home is completely unprofessional. I do not recommend her to anyone. She doesn't know how to write letters to the court and instead of being forthright and telling us that this is beyond her scope and understanding she took on our case because of the money. It was detrimental to my children to go to her for sessions and I am thankful it was only a handful of times and not for a prolonged period of time. Please do your research before hiring someone like her, I still am not sure how this state allows her to carry a license for counseling because she Is completely inapt and shouldn't be counseling minors at all!

Let me start out by saying I never have done hypnotherapy before. I have seen the hypnotists in…read moreshows and expected something along those lines. I was totally wrong. I came here hoping for a change in my life. Scott totally understood my feelings. He understood my fears and my struggle. He never once thought I was crazy or I was weird. He was so easy to talk to and so easy to reveal my conundrums to him after just 20 minutes! I have been having issues sleeping all my life. Recently, that problem arose significantly and started to impact my quality and quantity of sleep. I went through 1 session so far with Scott.
