Accepting the fact that i would have a $5000 deductible - after 3 x-rays / 2 ultrasounds / and a CT scan, my deductible was almost $6000, not to mention the games the insurance company is trying to pull, by trying to deny a bill to the local hospital for 12K dollars- over a paperwork issue. The agent from this company contacted me around Nov. 13th, before my renewal was up, after explaining what was happening- the agent sent me a different insurance policy to look over, not liking what i was seeing- i asked her to look for an alternative on Jan 9th 2025, to date i have not received a reply. Lets recap, was sold a garbage policy - sent me a policy to look over, that policy had different co-pays / deductibles for literally EVERYTHING - with no real clear understanding. Asked for a different insurance health ins. co. to no answer. Would NOT recommend.

You have to participate in the success of your visits. I gathered all the financial information he needed to access my current financial picture as I prepare for retirement in 5 or so years. Matt researched and emailed me a website to apply for student loan forgiveness in 10 years. This proactive behavior really impressed me. I filled out the paperwork and submitted it to the government entity for consideration. I thought about doing this 100 times, Matthew's nudge is what got me into action. He also contacted previous employers to verify I didn't have any 401K money, or stock, that I wasn't aware of, again, proactive behavior. He's not lazy. We always overpay during the year so that we always receive a large refund. We originally had our return prepared by someone else, also here on Yelp. The original return calculated a federal return of 200+ dollars. Something didn't seem quite right. We decided on a second opinion and based on several reviews coming from several sources, we could not find a negative review for Andrew Sarager so we decided to interview him and gave him no knowledge of the previous return. We wanted an unbiased second opinion. Yes, we did pay two CPAs this year for the same work with no knowledge of one another. The result was a refund of about 15x the original amount form the other CPA. The key here was our depreciation schedules. We offered to obtain them from our retired accountant but the original accountant said no. Andrew Sarager said, it's a must. The return looked a lot like ones prepared by our now retired account which we used since the mid 1980s. We've now found our "forever CPA" and could not be happier. We're posting this because of our lessons learned. Not all CPAs are the same and have the same levels of competence and completeness when handling your financial affairs. Finding a reliable and competent CPA is not easy unless you are just filing a very simple return. Andrew Sarager very openly and honestly disclosed that he has others helping with copying and input but that all returns cross his desk for review and signature. A perfect way to do business in my opinion and that is something that we require. A perfect match for us.
