For starters all front desk staff is rude and hate their job, they're not friendly at all and love to raise their voices at everyone and give attitude, in the whole 2 hours of waiting to see Dr.Rizzo his staff had problems with every single person who walked through that door. I also gave the front desk a call to see what had happened to my referral, they sent it to the wrong place & when I said I wanted to go to a different location they just said "ok" and hung up on me!! My appointment was at 12 pm and I got there 20 minutes before my appointment to fill out paperwork, it was already 1 pm and I was still waiting, the front staff is very slow and rude, they referred me to this location to take my son but they have adult patients with "anxiety" that are going to wait outside of the building until you leave because they can't handle kids and they are going to make everybody there know why they're waiting outside.I totally don't recommend this place especially if you have to take your kids. Dr Rizzo has been so great with my problematic polyps. I had surgery almost 20 years ago and the doctor I had at that time was horrific. I was VERY nervous and concerned when I was in need of the surgery again, but the doc empathized and addressed my concerns but did let me know surgery was the only answer...My wife was freaking out but Dr Rizzo really put us at ease and I went into the surgery with full confidence the outcome would be MUCH different than the previous one! Another thing he was able to do after the surgery was let me know the previous surgeon, dealing with all the technology at the time, did a good job with the ridiculous amount of polyp buildup I get. So I was VERY happy that he shared this with me after the surgery and not just backing another doc...although his appointments may run late he is definitely worth it! read more

For a follow-up visit to Pinnacle E.N.T. & Dr. Rizzo, I had the good fortune to be seen by P.A.-C April Seiler and subsequent conversation led to the discussion of my enduring random nose bleeds as a result of having H.H.T.. April immediately took charge of the situation and abated the source within minutes! Given the reoccurrence is likely as the issue is hereditary, it is now manageable to the point of being tolerable. After 15+ years of the situation increasing in frequency, April's taking charge of the dilemma is a blessing I live with every day! read more

This is long, but PLEASE READ, especially if you plan to take your child here. My 1-year-old was getting frequent ear infections, so were were referred to Dr. Rizzo for tube placement. I should have listened to my gut with the first red flag: the place was very dirty. The floors are are covered in dust bunnies, and the room we were placed in had an old suction setup with dried bloody contents in it. It was off-putting to say the least. When Dr. Rizzo came in the room, he seemed rushed. Not a lot of inquiry into our situation, a quick look into my daughters ears, and sent to schedule surgery. We would learn through two encounters with him afterwards that this is the norm. He spends very little time at bedside, and is always rushing in and out. Minimal conversation. As a mom to a baby, you expect more. He didnt act like he cared. I felt like my daughter was a number and a dollar sign. The day of surgery, we had a 5:30 check, but weren't set to go until 7:30. With a 1-year old who can't eat or drink that is a lifetime. Not sure if better planning or organization would improve that or not. We met with Dr. Rizzo beforehand briefly to talk about the surgery and some hypothetical outcomes based on what he saw when he put the tubes in. My daughter was then taken to surgery and I went to wait in the waiting room. I was able to track the progress on a screen in the waiting area so i knew when she was in surgery, and when she was done. Right as i got the update "in surgery" the woman sitting in the chair next to me told the person she was with that their child just went into surgery. She then said "Dr. Rizzo seemed nice. Hopefully it goes well". So, we both got an "in surgery" update on our kids at the same time, and had the same surgeon? I later found out that Dr. Rizzo takes two tube placement surgeries at a time because they are quick. Quick or not, I want your focus 100% on my child. That doesn't even seem ethical. When i got the update that my daughter's surgery was done, i was immediately called back to recovery. My daughter was very upset and out of sorts after receiving laughing gas. I climbed onto the gurney to hold her and help try and calm her down. Within ten minutes of being back there (the whole time my daughter crying) we were given our discharge instructions and helped to get up and leave. I didn't understand. My daughter was still screaming, and the doctor hadn't come back to talk with me after surgery. I was told this was standard, and if the doctor hadn't come back yet he wasn't going to. I was livid! In the weeks that followed, we have had nothing but problems. Episodes of emesis, and pus coming out of one of the ears. I called and spoke with Dr. Rizzo's office who scheduled my daughter an appointment to be seen the next day. When we showed up, i was told we weren't on the calendar and that we must have gotten confused. I pushed back, and we were squeezed in. Per usual, Dr. Rizzo was rushed. Looked in my daughter's ear with the pus, said "i'm not concerned", and ordered ear drops. He then left and his nurse proceeded to tell us how much he cares and always wants to be available. Bull!! Days later my daughter nearly went septic, with high fevers, tachypnea, tachycardia, and lethargy. I reached out on the number I was given (and had used when my daughter had pus in her ear), and never heard a word. Needless to say, i will NEVER bring anyone I care about back to this office. It has been the worst experience. This was supposed to be simple and the "cure all" and it was everything but. Do not come here, and if you do, DO NOT see Dr. Rizzo. read more

I wish I could rate this place with zero stars. 1 star is just too kind. The staff was incompetent and no one is on the same page. Phones rang like crazy with no one to answer (well they are there, right next to the phone, but they're busy with something else to answer). I waited 30 mins for someone to schedule my sons tonsillectomy, and I bet every other minute the phone rang, and it was answered maybe 4 times? Insane. Dr Brian Smedley (sp?) is the best! Friendly and informative and made my 6yo son feel comfortable and involved in treatment etc. made an entire day of miserable dr appts actually pleasurable. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My son had tubes put in his ears and it took us a year to get our sick month follow up appointment. Yes, you read that correctly. Each and every time we had an appointment scheduled, they suddenly had to reschedule it. One time, they forgot to schedule it after I had spoken with them. Now, once again, six month follow and one business day before his appointment and we're stuck once again having to reschedule except this time, my son is having a problem with his ear and needs to be seen. Excellent with both my girls. The only doctor with enough experience to diagnose and treat properly. The youngest was in pain and may now have speech issues due to lack of diagnosis by Pediatricians for 12 to 18 months, and the child is only 3. I Feel for Dr. Rizzo at the same time. He's a surgeon with 2 practices, deals with all ages, and is terribly busy more than the average bee. We need 10 more Dr. Rizzo's around and then everyone would be happy. read more

Love this place. I will say it is a little challenging to get a new patient appointment because of the volume of patients they get. However, Dr. Rizzo is the best. He was incredibly informative before my tonsillectomy. On surgery day he spoke to me and reassured me and answered all of my questions. After surgery he personally spoke to my boyfriend a few times to ensure I was healing properly and was extremely friendly. I had an amazing surgery experience and will refer him to anyone and everyone. Plus I don't get strep throat every few weeks which is a win in and of itself! read more

Worst office ever! Started at the beginning of February and only got that appt. they failed to fax orders over to Cigna for MRI after I called them 3 Times asking them to do so they also were unable to keep my come back appointment for February 16 because Dr. Osborne wasn't even in that office on that day and then they wanted to reschedule for March 9 which I got down to Feb 28 and then when I called to speak with the office manager today to see what I could do to resolve these issues she was unable to speak with me therefore I cancelled my appointment and will begin with a new ENT and try to get my medical issues taken care of however their lack of concern for delaying my treatment prevents me from ever doing business with them in the future. I have serious medical conditions and need serious medical treatment not these jokes! read more

Whatever you do, do not go to this practice. They have renamed the practice recently and I honestly feel its because they are trying to make it so potential new patients don't see the bad reviews. They always overbook so you will never actually get in at your appointment time. Honestly you won't get in within thirty minutes of your appointment time. The waiting room is always so overcrowded it's standing room only. They will have you get testing that is not necessary and is not covered by insurance. Or they will tell you it's covered and you will get a bill A YEAR LATER!!!!!!!! No contact within that year but a massive bill (with late charges) will come out of nowhere. The man who is supposedly in charge of their billing also refuses to answer questions about anything and lliterally said to me (after refusing to answer my question) "what do you want from me" when I replied politely asking for an answer to my question about my account he hung up. West Valley ENT is supposedly changing to "Pinnacle" ENT. Based on some of the reviews including mine, a name change is not enough. I purchased hearing aides through them and totally regret that decision. My first clue should have been when I tried to call to reschedule an appointment. I tried multiple times to reach someone and no one ever answered. I later started having a problem with the right hearing aide and tried to call. Again, no one answered. I finally just showed up with the hearing aide in question. I again had an issue with the right hearing aid on a Thursday morning and called in. I was on hold for over 20 minutes only to be told the audiologist was at lunch. I left a message. Finally, on Monday I got a call from the audiology receptionist. I explained the return call was to late, the right hearing aide had fallen out and was lost. My replacement cost is $400. I have had the aides less than 4 months. I complained to the audiologist twice and both times was told they were working on resolving the issues yet I have seen no changes. I absolutely cannot recommend this practice. read more

Saw Dr. Smedley. Nice guy. The office in Surprise is horrible. Dr ordered a CT scan Jan 24th at my visit. The office was supposed to send orders to Valley Radiology, not sure which one. They handed me a list of all the Valley Radiology offices, and said they didn't know which office I would be scheduled at. They said Valley Radiology would call me within 7 days. So, Feb 15th I got a call from Valley Radiology to schedule my appt. I told them I cancelled my follow up appt with Dr Smedley for the 14th as I never had the test done. Valley Radiology said that was interesting because they just received the orders from their office late on the 13th, the same day I cancelled the appt. I only gave it 2 stars because I liked the Doctor. Otherwise I would have given it a negative 2. read more

Avoid this office. My experience was very disappointing. I felt like I was being rushed through so Dr. Rizzo could get to another patient. He did not thoroughly evaluate my condition, was quick to do a procedure that my subsequent ENT said was not necessary. Since my visits, others have told me to avoid this doctor and office. The office itself is even worse. They would not honor my request to have my records sent to my new ENT, nor did Dr. Rizzo sign a form requested by my insurance company - even after two tries. When I refused to pay my final bill until my requests were fulfilled, they just tacked on a $10 rebilling fee. read more
