A jacuzzi tub to the next double bed
    Salim P.

The hotel is dated and for some reasons seemed compact. The location is amazing with everything close by. The room that we stayed could have used more natural light. The room had two double beds for families like us, but there was a jacuzzi tub next to the bed. I have yet to come across a family who will use the jacuzzi as well. To us makes more sense to have a jacuzzi with a king size bed room and give some more room with families who are staying in a two bed room. The hallway and lobby a bit uninviting. Could use some upgrade. The drop off area has a permanent big bus parked which makes it harder for guests to drop the family and go for parking. Three days in a row we saw that. The underground parking is tight. Very tight. Other than a sub compact car (Civic/Corolla) and smaller nothing can fit comfortably. Always had to unload the family and park and even then getting in and out was tough.

I spent the last two nights at the Pinnacle Hotel in Whistler Village. When I arrived, I discovered that I had been upgraded to a deluxe suite. Sweet! I love love love baths and used the jacuzzi both nights ... I'm going to miss it! My queen bed was comfy! The room rate was $119 (plus taxes). WIFI was included and I found it speedy. The suite came with a full-sized fridge, stove, microwave oven, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker, along with everything you would need to make your own meals (dishes, silverware, pots, etc.). It was nice to be able to open the window and get some fresh mountain air. They might want to think about adding a sliding screen door ... it would have been nice to have it open a bit during the night but I was afraid of critters coming in. There is a fitness room and outdoor pool but I didn't check them out ... I went for a long walk to Lost Lake yesterday instead. Parking was $19/day, underground and accessible via an elevator. The hotel is in the Village and walkable to tons of restaurants, shopping, gondolas, etc. Alas, the gondolas aren't running during the week right now (they are running just on the weekends) so I wasn't able to go up on the mountain. I had stayed here years ago and would stay here again in the future.

Tight parking spots. When you're paying $22 a day, you expect a little bit more. Just a bit.

When a consumer pays a higher price, they usually expect a certain standard. I am disappointed to say that Pinnacle does not hold true to this. For the price they charge, you expect a high level of cleanliness, standard parking, modern rooms, as well as the service that goes with it. Pinnacle has failed in three out of four of those aspects. I'll start with the good first-this place is clean and the housekeepers do a great job. Freshly laid out towels each day, sheets were clean and pressed nicely. The layout of the rooms is odd and outdated. You can tell that this is an older hotel and is in need of a designer. But once again, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The parking is absolute crap. The only thing worse than the lack of space between each car (i hope you're good at parking otherwise you're gonna spend a lot of time trying to park in those tiny spaces), was the managers response to my comments about the parking when he was handling my check out. His response when I told him parking was a disaster and the spots are too tight? "It wasn't designed for big cars." I drive a tiny Hyundai. (See photos attached). Great response, Arun. In a separate dealing with the front desk (same guy), we also asked if we could check out an hour earlier as our friends had managed to do this for their room as well....nope. We were told this wasn't possible and their policy is that check out is at 11. It would be nice if all customers were treated equally. He could not offer any justification or explanation for this and would not speak to the inconsistency at hand. Will not be staying at this place again. For $50 more, consider the fairmont instead. Previous stays in whistler at other places such as the Westin, were perfectly lovely in every aspect. Definitely will not be returning. From the managers words and demeanour it was very apparent that he did not care.

Bug found in the bathroom. We saw about eight of them over two nights, often dead in the tub in the morning.

We come up here from Vancouver because we love the jacuzzi tubs in the premium suites. However, after staying there for the last two nights, we kept finding small bugs in the tub and bathroom. When we told management, they didn't apologize or seem surprised. They just said they'd let the housekeeper manager know. Photo attached. This will likely make us reconsider returning to what has been a pleasant spot for us.

Loved our stay here! Patrick at the front desk does an amazing job and works so hard! He was so helpful and knowledgable and made our stay extremely pleasant. His manner was professional but he also made us feel very comfortable-- a good trait in front desk staff, in my experience some can be very snooty ----this was definitely not the case at The Pinnacle. Patrick worked long hours throughout our Christmas holiday stay and I dare say deserves a raise! Our room was great, very clean. The whole building has good views. There's a heated pool, hot tub and small fitness area, as well as laundry facilities on the main floor and kitchenettes in the rooms. We were steps away from the village, literally, which really made the trip. I will definitely be returning.

We were pleased with our choice to stay at this charming hotel....Very hospitable and friendly staff, Clean and comfy rooms with a relaxing jacuzzi tub. Our favorite part was the location ... walking distance to everything that matters ... Ski lifts/slopes, food Shopping!

This tub would be perfect in the winter, but for us in the summer it made a great bedside table.

An average lodge. It has a kitchenette which was convenient. For the price we paid it wasn't four seasons.

I spoke to two different concierges (whoever answered the mainline each time I called claimed to be one). I was shocked to find the concierges spoke down to me, failed to listen to me when I was asking for information - substituting instead their assumptions of what they thought I was going to ask for, and insultingly tried to explain to me how websites and phones worked. In addition, they appeared to lack any independent knowledge about who to contact for what. Instead, they would refer me to Google. Had Google answered my questions, I would not have had to call the concierges in the first place. Twenty-four hours before we were to arrive, we learned we could not travel to Canada because our 4.5 month old puppy would not be allowed back into the US until she was 6 months old. I tried to find puppy care on this short notice, but could not. I immediately called bookings.com for help, and they said they were happy to refund me, but Pan Pacific had to approved it before they could do so. Bookings.com wrote and asked for the refund the day before we were to arrive. In addition, I personally called and emailed Pan Pacific that afternoon and again the following morning, asking to cancel with a refund or reschedule for July or August when our pup would meet the US's 6month age requirement. The following day, I received an email from Pan Pacific refusing to refund my prepayment - even though we would not be able to come. They also falsely characterized my request as a same day cancellation. This is not some small B&B or family-owned hotel that may not be able to handle cancellations or for whom a cancellation of a three-night stay in their cheapest room class could have serious financial consequences. The Pan Pacific Hotels Group has a multitude of hotels in at least thirteen countries and advertise on their website that there are more coming soon. I can't think of a single reason why they wouldn't just let me postpone my reservation to later in the summer if they couldn't afford to simply cancel and refund my $700US and change (the total cost of all three nights). Also frustratingly, after refusing to refund my money for a room I couldn't use, they said they would provide me the "courtesy" of adding my family members' names to the reservation. My reservation was for myself, my 12 year-old, and our puppy - all of which was disclosed to them upon reserving the room. Clearly putting the room in my child's or puppy's name accomplishes nothing. And since I paid for the room, shouldn't they be required to let my designee stay in it? Is that really a courtesy? In my opinion, their "courtesy" was a meaningless, valueless platitude that felt, and was intended to feel, dismissive and rude. I truly miss the days of customers being valued and treated with a modicum of respect - or, at the very least, treated with the intention of creating customer goodwill and /or trying to obtain repeat business. Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre really appears not to care at all about their customer experience. And if that's true, wouldn't it be far better to stay at - and support - a hotel that does?

This suite is near 1700 sq ft, has a full kitchen, living room with soaring ceilings and dining area, a master bedroom with fireplace, large built in closet and en suite bathroom, a king bedroom, queen bedroom with en suite and half bath. It also has four balconies - one off each of the bedrooms and large one off the living room with spectacular views of the village and mountains. The beds were amazingly comfortable, room was cleaned early each day and had everything we needed from espresso machine, coffee machine, washer and dryer , large double fridge, great bathroom amenities. Loved the experience but a few things were lacking - no wall decor - walls looked freshly painted but were completely blank, master bathroom was tiny, but bedroom was huge with lots of wasted space - for example the fireplace was nice but there was no seating area just an otter-man with bedding , and two bathrooms were off the queen bedroom but none near the king bedroom !! Washer dryer was a great addition until we realized it only used boiling hot water even on a cold cycle and we had to request that the fire place and safe be repaired. That said it is a great location, comes with daily breakfast, the balconies are worth every penny and it's very clean and comfortable!

We had few issues with the room upon check-in so we had to go up and down but then it got solved and we got good room. We got a nice complementary chocolate plate from the hotel for our 6th wedding anniversary. Parking was inside the garage and it was for additional cost $40 CAD which is very pricey. We heard that hotel has a free shuttle service to town, as well as drop off with a private car (first come first serve). We didn't used it because we wanted to walk since weather was so nice, maybe next time. Hotel has a few restaurants and cafes. We enjoyed nice lunch at Portobello, I highly recommend their cuban sandwich and Belgium hot chocolate. Breakfast place The Wildflower was very crowded and service was very bad. Most of the people take buffet and if you want to take a la carte you will wait even longer for the food. However, egg Benedict was excellent and cappuccino and latte is speciality coffee and cost extra but it's worth it. We reserved the Wildflower for anniversary dinner. The ambience doesn't feel like in an upscale restaurant, maybe because we used to this as a breakfast place... Food was good my husband took lamb loin, I took elk tar tar that was divine, clam chowder was good as well. But we didn't felt romantic atmosphere, the place was very casual and we felt like we were overdressed. Service was better than service at breakfast. Room was very spacious, we got higher floor with a village view. Hotel was fully booked because it was last day for sky gondola for blackcomb mountain. Pool and spa felt overpacked! There were sooo many kids and few hot tubs were out of service. Overall we enjoyed our stay, however we felt it was bit overpriced. We loved the hotel, the location but service was lacking maybe because of the high demand.
