My experience with Pinnacle Realestate Mgmt hits all the marks for what NOT to look for in a landlord, imo. The lease does not allow you to sublet (2 month rent fee). Apartment was allegedly inspected, fixed up and cleaned prior to move in but several major issues were blatantly over looked. Window pain separated from window, water temp only got to lukewarm, paint staines on floor, electrical outlet faulty to name a few. Not your friend, not nice. Ask them why there is No out going mail or recycling, their response is stunning read more

The place was pretty nice, besides the fact that none of my windows locked. But their mismanagement was evident in many circumstances. Their "secure" entrance at our place (999 Pearl) was often susceptible to trespassers who felt free to use our pool whenever they felt. So eventually they closed the pool as a punishment to the tenants although trespassers were consistently the ones and the only ones who broke the pool rules. (Jumping from balconies into pool.) So our pool was closed for 3 of the hottest weeks during the summer, yet we had no reduction of rent for that month. All that aside I wanted to renew my lease with them. But yikes, guess they didn't want the same thing because I spent 3 weeks trying to communicate with them about it and never once got a phone call back. Guess I don't want to renew my lease? This management company is horrible to say the least. They have recently taken over a property near Washington Park, and they treat their current tenants terribly. They are raising the rent by $300, after renovations, and giving those who live there now 30 days notice to move. They won't return their tenants' calls, and they lie about why people are leaving. They claim it is the tenants' "choice" to move, but in actuality, and expectedly, the tenants cannot afford a $300 rent increase within a month. They have also tried to keep deposit money for dirty carpets, damage, etc. despite the fact that they are ripping each apartment to shreds the moment a place is vacant. These are malicious and greedy people. Avoid this company if possible. read more
