I have been to this business more than a few times. I love going to Pinot's Palette as it's a fun experience learning how to be creative and painting. The last two times I went I painted my pet dog Bernini in March and yesterday I painted a small spring scene. The staff even acknowledged my birthday with a birthday hat at my seat. Last night not only did we paint, but we learned how to play Mahjong with Gretchen and Colleen with Mariposa Mahjong. So cool! Both in March and last night, I was lucky enough to have Autumn as the painting instructor. She's very detailed and will help you in an instance if you get stuck. Everything is provided from an apron to brushes and the paint. All you have to do is let your creative self flow. At the end of the evening, I was talking to the owner Pam and was surprised to learn she offers other fun and creative activities like charcuterie boards, mosaic garden art, chunky knit blankets, wine glassses, art boards and even a 4-hr Bob Ross oil painting. There is a small bar area that serves nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages and a few food items like pretzels, a packaged charcuterie, a small pizza, and a variety of snacks. You're also welcomed to bring your own snacks, but not BYOB. There's something so cathartic about sitting down and painting no matter if it's a masterpiece or not. I'll be back next week with my Pilates friends to do another painting. I highly recommend the studio for a fun evening with girlfriends, a date night or even go by yourself for some me-time. read more

Came here on a Saturday and spent some time with my best friend's daughter. She picked out doing a painting of Punch & also making a candle. We were the first ones there. We went ahead and I assisted her with making her own candle which was a pretty fast and easy process. It was put off to the side while we worked on our painting. The whole time while working on the painting, each step was given very specific and it was easy to follow. It was really helpful and it was at a good pace for everyone to be able to follow along. I want to start by saying that you have to buy your liquor on-site instead of BYOD for this location. It's Naperville law. Womp womp! My wife and I came here for Valentine's Day. We had a blast. It's perfect for date night. My wife commented that it'd be a PERFECT FIRST DATE event. I agree. So take note, folks! The drinks that were made at the bar were fine. There are a ton of different refreshments and online painting options, and the instructions are super helpful and will be as hands-on or hands-off as you need. I was here for a girls night and we all enjoyed ourselves. This location offers drinks and snacks since they are not BYOB/BYOF. Supplies are all provided so all you need to do is book a class, show up for it and enjoy! I forgot the name of our instructor, maybe, Lauren? and she was great! A little on the fast side when providing instructions however the class is 2 hours so there is plenty of time to catch up. The space is kept clean and bright. There are plenty of photo op spots within it which my group did take advantage of. This location is in the downtown Naperville area so parking can get tricky. I have been to this location 4 times in the past few months and absolutely love it! My first 2 visits were girl's nights with a couple of friends. We ordered drinks from the bar that was well stocked with beer and wine, as well as a list of cocktails that were available. The studio is set up in a way that it is easy to see the example while the instructor was painting. I also felt that the instructions were perfectly paced - we were able to talk a little and enjoy our drinks while still completing beautiful paintings. My other 2 visits were with my 9yo son for family friendly Saturday events. The family events are typically easier than the evening events, but still provide enough of a challenge that my son and I were able to stay engaged in what we were working on. The instructor we had today (we think her name was Anna) was excellent! Not only did she do a great job instructing, but she was more than happy to answer some questions/requests from my very curious child. For those unfamiliar with downtown Naperville, I definitely recommend giving yourself more time than you think you need for parking. While there is a parking lot directly in front of Pinot's, it's small and shared, so there's a good chance you will need to park elsewhere and walk. A suggestion for the company- it would be awesome if a membership was offered. Fun & Creative Night Out at Pinot's Palette! I had a great experience at Pinot's Palette! It's a fun and relaxed paint-and-sip class for adults, and the location is super convenient. They often have great deals online or through Groupon, which makes it even more worth it. I did the "Paint in the Dark" class, which was a really cool twist; they used glow-in-the-dark and neon paints under black lights, and the vibe was fun with great music playing throughout. Adult beverages are available for purchase separately if you want to sip while you paint. For two adults, we paid about $85 total (with tax), which I thought was a fair price considering all the art materials are included. Definitely a fun and creative night out; I'd recommend it for date night, a girls' night, or just something different to try! read more

Girls night! What fun! We had all ages and everyone loved it. Doesn't matter if you know what you are doing or have never picked up a brush, you are going to have a good time. The staff is so friendly and helpful - ready to get you supplies, offer advice on your project, or get you another drink. One of my girlfriends and I went for a girls night out, and did a castle rendition of the starry night. In 2 hours my friend and I, with no formal experience in painting, created the cutest winter gnomes to decorate our home for the season. Pinot's has the best instructional artists that walk the class through each step. Instructors also walk around and make themselves available for any individual questions that students may have or to help fix major/minor boo-boos. Fortunately, I had neither today - phew! All materials are provided and they also have a great bar stocked with delicious libations to keep you hydrated during the class. Pros - ease of booking through the website, Lots of variety for the choice of paintings Cons- parking lot is small, the inside of the studio is small as well. Even though the instructor was wearing a microphone, I found it hard to hear. Also, our instructor went a little fast and it was hard to see. At one point my friend had asked her to slow down and speak up. Also, at the beginning we were told that there would be a second instructor walking around. However, she was busy gathering supplies for those who opted to do the class virtually. I also didn't like that the "bar" was at the entrance. As a result, guests from the private party in the back kept coming up into our room which contributed to the noise/distractions. Also, just something to keep in mind that morning bookings may have kids. This location does not allow you to bring in your own liquor, however other beverages and snacks are allowed. Attended a yelp event here and honestly it exceeded my expectations. I've been to sip and paint places before and Pinot's Pallete (at least this location) blew them all out of the water! To start, they have more drink options than I've ever seen at other places, which I truly appreciate because you know...a girl likes options. I opted for a cosmo and Karen made it just right. The painting experience was good, the instructor was a great blend of funny and informative and love the turn up and turn down of the music. Other awesome things to note here: - it's a large space and can easily and comfortable accommodate a lot of people - they sell frames for your masterpiece (huge win for me because hubby likes things framed) - wood upgrade! I was just talking about another place in Oswego that does the wood painting on the way to this event then saw that and realized, this is really a one stop shop! Overall the staff was great, the space was comfortable and I enjoyed it so much that I signed up for the pet painting project in 2 weeks! TIPS:  Book through Yelp to get $5 off your order.  And after you attend your first class, you'll get a 10% off coupon for next time.  Also, parking is nuts in downtown Naperville.  If you can't find a spot in PP's lot, then park at the library parking lot (which is right next to PP's lot). So, after my friend begged me to do this class for over a year, I finally gave it a go.  It shouldn't have taken me so long, because I love drawing/painting, etc. But, I don't care for most of these painting studios' picture options.  I want something that will go with my home décor - especially if I'm spending $39!  The corny beach, animal, sports, and stick-people-in-tomantic settings don't jive with my home décor.   We agreed on Van Gogh's Sunflower.  I wasn't a huge fan of how mine turned out - 2 hours isn't enough for me, but it was a TON of fun!!!! You cannot bring your own alcohol, but they have a bar with a great selection of wine, beer, cider and cocktails.  Apparently, you can bring in your own appetizers.  The bartender was great - she would bring you an extra drink if you were concentrating on your painting and too busy to go get one. The instructor was bubbly and fun, and the music she played in between instruction got you wanting to dance and/or sing (or perhaps that was my cocktail giving me the moves?)  They played everything from "Blue House," "Pop some Tags," "Getting' Jiggy With It" and even some 70s and 80s stuff.  All stuff I could actually sing along to (under my breath so no one heard me...)  There was a little girl among the painters, and one song was a little inappropriate IMO.  Something to keep in mind when bringing a kid to a regular paint night. Came here for my cousin's bachelorette party and had a great time. It was easy to book, I called and scheduled mine and told them I was with the bachelorette party but I wasn't added to the party so when we got there they asked someone if they would mind moving so I could paint with my group and the person was kind enough to move. The staff was friendly and they had a good array of drinks at a decent price. The instructor was pretty good and even though she moved quickly I kept up and mine came out a little better than expected (not good by any means haha) but better than what I thought. What a fun place! -- I attended a Yelp Elite event with over 50 individuals and it was more than successful! PP's was organized, staffed properly, and ready to have a good time! The drink selection at the bar was bigger than expected, and the service was always exceptional! The painting activity itself was also 10/10 - as the instructors did a fantastic job breaking down what looked to be difficult, into tiny, easy to follow steps. While still keeping their energy and patience up with the non-artists! I really liked the size of the this studio and how many sinks they had to offer. Just went here on Sunday and I am already planning my next visit to Pinot's Palette. This place was an amazing experience. You can schedule your visit online, which is what I did, and personally I think that is the easiest way. They have a calendar posted with events to show what you will be painting on which day and whether or not the proceeds go to a charity. I chose my event specifically because all of the proceeds went to fallen soldiers' families. We painted a barn with an American flag hanging from it, perfect for Memorial day. It costs $38 per person (that price can vary depending on the type of event you sign up for and whether or not it is a private party). That price includes your canvas, brushes, smock, paints, and whatever else you need to paint your masterpiece. They encourage you to bring food, but you cannot bring your own booze. You can buy what they offer (wine and a select few beers) but of course the prices are jacked up. I paid $28 for a bottle of red wine that you can normally find in stores for $10 and the beers were $5, but whatever. You have to drink when you go because if you're a terrible painter like me, alcohol makes it all the more fun! They have a little table off to the side where you can set the food you brought for your party. I didn't like this because that means anyone attending the event can go up and start eating the food you brought specifically for your group. And that is exactly what happened. Of the thirty-something people that were there, the ladies of my group were the only people that brought food. As soon as we set it out, some random women picked up plates and napkins getting ready to chow down on our munchies. We had to let them know that the food was for our party only and if you want food you have to bring it, which just made things super awkward. Aside from that, the evening flowed smoothly. The instructor at the front of the class will walk you step by step how to paint the portrait they've chosen for everyone to paint that evening. The staff there kept messing with me about my painting. They were hilarious! I had far too much to drink so I will admit that it looked a little rough, but they were harsh critics!! One of the guys that worked there said my barn looked like it was made of concrete because my colors were so bland. Then he said it looked like something out of texas chainsaw massacre! Lol!! "Im afraid to see whose gonna come out of that barn..." is what he said about my portrait. They're lucky I'm a good sport! But it was all in good fun. The event took a total of three and a half hours although it only said it would take two hours on the website, so be flexible when you sign up for this thing. Eat before you go otherwise book a private party if you plan on bringing food because people will nom on your food and then you will have to awkwardly confront them and tell them not to. Drink lots of wine and don't be all serious about making your picture perfect. Its meant to be fun so get silly and have a good time with it. At the end of the day you get to take your painting home with you. Mine is in the garage lol! Pinot's Palette is a great time. I love the staff, especially Patrick--the harsh critic, and they make everything so easy for you while you are there. I can't wait to go back! read more

Awesome place!!! My wife suggested it for my Birthday and I love doing anything creative, so I was excited. The concept is hands down great. Our instructor, was very knowledgeable about painting and made it a lot of fun. There was great music and fun drinks (I don't drink, but they looked great). We were all singing along and painting... It was so much fun. Then why only 4 stars and not 5? There were two things that I think they could improve upon. Not to discourage anybody from going, they were very minor. The first thing was that the place was VERY humid. The air was so thick. There is probably a good reason for this that I don't know, but had I known that I would have dressed better prepared. I was a mess when I left there. The other thing was the pace was really fast. I wish it was a little slower to understand better what was going on. I mean I get that it's timed. I just felt rushed all the time. Like I was going to miss the next step. I'd like to say though, even given the two small negative things that I had to say. I love this place. It's fun, relaxing and they make you feel like you are a great artist. BUT my review is ( hopefully) a little different. My dad is in a nursing home and the owner here generously donated her "painting samples" to the home. They were very helpful and keeping the residents' minds engaged with different colors and telling them stories about the goings-on in the pictures. It was a excellent way to try to keep my dad's mind engaged in the world around him. Also, I took my mom who is handicapped to paint here. They got her a different more supportive chair for her to sit on, left lots of room around us and helped with canvas placement as my mom cannot lift her arms more than 5 in or so range of motion. They were accommodating in every way possible and super sweet about it too. Thanks so much to them. read more

My sisters-in-law and I threw a surprise party for my Mother-in-law at Pinot's and it was amazing! Not only was the private room clean and set up for us, but the drinks were priced decently! The layout for this location is very nice: private room in the back and a large studio for public lessons right next to the bar area. They also had complimentary coffee in a lounge area towards the back (super convenient) and a bathroom all the way in the back. The staff was very nice, super excited for the party with us! They made everything easy for us! Our instructor was Ruth, and boy was she a gem! Not only did she handle us new beginners, but her instructions were simple and we ended up with a gorgeous painting! I was here last night for a bachelorette party and it was lovely. I liked it better than Arts and Spirits in Chicago. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of room for my wine and painting tools, and the setup there is great. I had no problem finding free parking in one of the garages closeby and it was a great night. I had a moscato that was absolutely delicious. ($7 for a small glass). And the painting was so cute.. we painted "Stepping Out" and I felt like the instructor was talented and walked us through the painting very well, despite my very strong lack of skills. We had a great time at Pinot's Palette for my bachelorette party. The staff was friendly, the snacks were tasty and the atmosphere was very casual and fun. When we arrived, they had all the supplies we needed for our "Winter Japanese Garden" painting. There was plenty of time to paint, socialize and snack away as we had "drying time" before we could move on to the next part of the painting. The ability to bring in your own snacks was great for our purposes. The only bummer is that they don't serve non-alcoholic beer or wine, and you can't bring in your own (Naperville ordinance) so if you are a non or former drinker or are pregnant, you might just have to settle for water or soda. Though, Maybe Pinot will add non-alcoholic wine or beer to the menu... I'd be a regular if that was the case! Finally, I love that they take pictures of each of the groups when you are done, and you can be posted to Facebook, if you want or have your own group picture taken for your own purposes. This is a great night out and an awesome activity that is 'something different.' It's a great combination of going out and socializing, and bringing out your own creativity. I am far from a creative person, and I felt like I had been painting for years with the perfect amount of helpful structure. I never felt under pressure or behind but I was also never bored! Honestly, I thought this would be more stressful and make me feel embarrassed that I had never painted before, but it wasn't like that at all! It was so relaxing and such a blast, and the instructors are so great I'm actually going to hang my painting in my house!! (Plus the full bar really helps bring out your inner courage too) I love that Pinot's is solely dedicated to this event - you'll find other paint night events around town that take place in restaurants, but I had a much better experience here as that's what they specialize in! Unlike other places, Pinot's has the main teacher AND an assistant who can come by to help one on one to make sure you're happy with your painting.
