Wish I could leave a zero star review, and I wish I had checked their reviews before ordering through Door Dash. I placed an order with Pioneer through DoorDash. After 1 1/2 hours of my order being in "preparing" status, and after dozens of calls with no answer, I had to call DoorDash to get the order cancelled. An hour later I got a text saying they were on their way. I texted the driver to let him know I cancelled and not to deliver it. 1 hour after that, a delivery driver showed up and tried to deliver to me. I didn't accept and I got the feeling the poor driver was getting screwed out of their fee. I will never buy anything from this store again. Just a terrible experience. Avoid avoid avoid! read more

This place is in walking distance of my home and I walked there often. The new owners customer service was below standards (talking into an earpiece, not acknowledging you coming in the store or when I came up to the counter) he just kept up his conversation so I left without purchasing and went to the store on Orchard and Parker. I've tried delivery with this place twice. The first time it took over 2 hours, when the driver arrived it was the wrong order. He told me he would return with the correct order and asked that I not put a negative review because he already had a 2 star. I was nice and didn't add the review. However, after a recent delivery (that took quite a bit of time), I realize this is just the company's M.O. Driver arrived, didn't want to come to the door. This store is new to Uber Eats delivery. I tried them on 05/05/23. When the time arrived for delivery I went to meet the driver. Then the status was changed to "We hope you enjoyed your delivery". I waited a few minutes to see if driver was just a little behind, then chatted with Uber customer service. While they were checking a guy walked up with my delivery and YES he was on his bluetooth, and this was almost 20 minutes after said delivery was made. I gave them another chance and the same thing happened only this time Ubereats told me that the business told them that the delivery was made and they could not do anything. I looked up the number and called the store myself and this guy answers and when I start inquiring about my order he starts screaming at me in a heavy accent then what i could make out 'the delivery is at the door'!! and yes delivery was there (same guy on his bluetooth)-almost 1 hour after the fact. I will NEVER use this company again, and Ubereats will be hearing from me also. read more

Per their door and online advertising, their hours are NOT open at 8am daily. I came by at 9am and they were locked up lights out. I wouldn't recommend this based on their door sign and online hours not being a match to reality. When deliveries were made through drizzly service was excellent. But ever since the store started making their own deliveries, you can expect it to take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. There are always lots of excuses. And according to the delivery drivers the owner would always forget to put in the delivery order. Tonight I placed an order on DoorDash with Pioneer Hills at 5:51pm. The ETA showed 60 minutes. At 7:21pm I received a notification that my order was complete. No photo was sent of the drop off and my order is nowhere to be found. I called the number listed for this business 5 times over a 2 hour period. No answer. Finally, I reached out to them on Facebook. They responded right away and asked what the name was on my order, and then they stopped responding. I have ordered from Pioneer in the past with the Drizly app and they always take forever to deliver and they mark their orders as "complete" in the app HOURS before they actually deliver. Not to mention they are supposed to ID you at delivery to confirm age, and these guys never do. Tonight they didn't even deliver my order and they took my payment and my tip. I should have learned my lesson the first time this happened with Pioneer, but I thought I'd give them another shot since I was using a different app this time around. Unfortunately, they deliver their own orders and they don't use DoorDash drivers, so you can't track where the driver is and there is no accountability. I found this out after my order was placed. I strongly recommend you do not order alcohol delivery with this business. They are crooks. read more

This place is absolutely fantastic for beer geeks! If you live in the Parker, Centennial, or Aurora, this place is a must! The service is probably the best you'll get from any beer store in the area. They are always super friendly when you stop in and are always willing to help. They are always pretty responsive to FB messages as well. Now, the beer selection. It's probably the best in the area and in my top three in the Denver area. They always get Weldwerks and have a nice supply of Casey on hand. They just started carrying Wiley Roots too. Their store is small but the do very well for a limited space. I don't think I have left Pioneer without buying something. Their FB game is on point. Whenever they get a shipment in of beer they always post it on FB. Cheer, you guys! This store is a must stop! read more

Love this little liquor store. It's a bit on the pricey side which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5 but they carry some hard to find brewery's which is why we come here. Not going to name them as you'll have to do the leg work yourself but if your into some of the better local craft beer brands, give this place a try. Staff is always friendly and pretty knowledgeable and they also have a rewards program so be sure to sign up! It's also one of the few places I've found that do mix a 4 pack on craft tall boys! My friend and I were visiting Denver for the first time . We DoorDashed an order $27 worth . The order said "confirming with Pioneer Hills Liquor" for over an hour. I decided to check the reviews and seen how horrible they were! So I called several times & did not get an answer. So i ubered to the store & told the guy I have a DoorDash order . On my way there the ordered jumped to "order complete" so that confirmed that I was about to be scammed! After telling him my order he said he was "waiting on the dasher to arrive " but on my phone it said it was complete & delivered!!!!! I showed him my ID & he then gave me my order ! Luckily he wasn't rude but he is a liar!!!! All the other reviews on here believe them !!!! When I left I got back on DoorDash and said I never received my order so I can get $27 credited towards my next purchase since I had to spend extra money to go pick it up! We're just up the street in Piney Creek and have shopped at Pioneer Hills Liquor since 2012. And just like Cammie L in 2015, I too have felt customer service to be lacking on occasion. However, nothing compares to the outrageously rude and hostile behavior three adult members of my family were subjected to the evening of April 2nd by the same male cashier/owner that Cammie L must have encountered in 2015. We left immediately and completed our large purchase down the street. Without question, this store reflects a powerful commitment from very knowledgeable owners who have turned this large space into a bright, clean, well-organized source for everything related to beer, wine and spirits. The inventory is both diverse and eclectic, and is wonderfully displayed. The bank of cooled beverages is huge, and contains lots of options for all occasions. The staff is refined and responsive, and have kindly accommodated my personal love of New Belgium's Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA bombers by reordering them despite recent changes by their distributors. I've never had such a bad experience in any store than the one I had here. The male cashier was very snarky, terrible customer service and communication skills. He isn't aware of the sales occurring in the store he works at and blamed me for needing at refund when I pointed this out to him. While receiving my refund, he asked me to help him put the liquor into a second bag, as the first wasn't secure enough for what he had already put in. The bag broke the second I lifted it and the bottle broke on the floor. The cashier then blamed me, quite literally told me "You should've have caught the bottle." He then was unable to refund me, he had to ask his coworker how to do it. His coworker then had to take over and forgot to refund me the full amount of my purchase. He barely knew how to do his job and automatically chose to blame me for this mistake, this was my go to liquor store but I will not be returning as long as I know this incompetent employee is working here. read more

However, I went in on 12/23 to stock up for the holiday and the male cashier, who I think may be the owner, was so incredibly rude and disrespectful I don't know if I'll ever go back. Decent wine and spirits selection but if you like your beer cold this isn't the place for you. Complained to two different clerks and asked them to pass it on to the owners but nothing has changed. I live 4 or 5 minutes from the store and measured the temp of my beer and it was 54 degrees. Not acceptable. There is a good store at Orchard and Parker just down the road I would recommend. read more
