I love the location because it's right next to my job which is perfect for those quick stops on the way home. They have a great Saki and wine selection. I'm not much of a beer drinker anymore but they have a wide selection of that too in the coolers. Female manager is RUDE. I was looking for a particular seasonal Angry Orchard "Fireside" Variety pack, since it's that season! I use Drizly & have no issues with them. To be safe, I called up to the store to confirm they indeed HAD THAT in stock. She said yes. So I placed my order with Drizly. Wellll, the "Summer Sessions" version shows up. So I called the store; hoping maybe it was a simple mistake & they could come swap it out for me. She says "oh... all I heard was seasonal & no, we don't have that other one, so"... (trails off into something unintelligible). I then asked, "Why would someone want a Summer sampler in the middle of September?". She snapped back something about it not being her problem & hung up on me. See my receipt below & what I received.. Thankfully Drizly refunded the mistake. Heritage liquors used to be a great local liquor store. Within the last two months they've just become a train wreck sliding downhill. Whether in person or calling on the phone, you can't get any kind of service, you can't get anyone to give you an answer, they put you on hold for 10 to 15 minutes and never return to the phone, and even in the store - they used to have such friendly people, not any more!! Within the last two months, the people they have hired to work in the store are unkind and uncaring, not knowledgeable, not friendly, and frankly don't seem to give a crap whether you shop there or not. Really good thing Safeway now sells wine and beer, and luckily Molly's is right down the street. I don't think I'll ever shop at heritage liquors again and I'm sure they don't give a crap. This is usually my go to liquor store but I will never return here again. Today my boyfriend went in to grab some beer and margarita stuff, I stayed in the car. The cashier told my boyfriend "I saw that girl in your car in the passenger seat and she is not 21" I am 24! And what happens if someone has their child waiting in the car? He asked my boyfriend to have me come inside from the car to show my id? This has never happened before at ANY liquor store. I understand people buy minors alcohol so I happily came inside to show him my id even though it didn't make any sense in this situation, there was multiple cars next to us with passengers waiting and they weren't required to come in. After coming inside to show him I am actually 24 the employee was still being very aggressive and hostile towards us then refused to sell us anything.... I had no issue showing him my id. As he is holding my id he's sitting there taking shit to us.. like why? I have been coming to this liquor store for YEARS and the employees are usually very helpful and kind. I'm not sure if he was having a bad day or what but the way he was speaking to us and how the situation was handled was completely unacceptable. He had no reason to be angry and completely rude to us. I wish I got his name. He had dark hair and a mustache. I wish I asked to speak to a manager but the employee was so angry I didn't want to cause a scene in-front of the other paying customers . I am appalled at this experience. Great selection of beer, wine and spirits and a very knowledgeable, FRIENDLY staff. The location is super convenient to me, and they have a pretty good rewards program. So why two stars? Well, my problem is that a lot of the time, I find expired beer in the coolers. I've seen some that are only a few weeks and I've seen some that are over a year past the enjoy by date. It won't make you sick, but if you're going to spend your money on something tasty, you should be able to get a quality product. To play devil's advocate, I know with a large selection it's easy to overlook some things, but with the regularity that this happens, I don't think it's a simple oversight. I'll continue to stop by from time to time, but there are several other stores in the area that have better QC. I have spent the past month+ trying to locate a hard-to-find bottle of liquor for a friend's birthday present and came up empty handed at big and small stores all across Denver. Saves me having to pull out my phone and Google wine reviews. My husband is eternally grateful for this; there is zero toe-tapping, wrist-watch checking going on at Heritage Wine & Liquor. There's a good selection of craft beer, a big walk-in full of bombers. The staff are a bunch of young dudes who ask if you need help but are hoping you say no. My minus one star was for this reason. What also keeps me coming here is that the staff is very helpful, available, and knowledgeable. Third, they have a great, unique selection of spirits, beer, and wine, considering this is a smaller store. Lastly, they have a loyalty program and it's fun to rack up points for free stuff. What I am disappointed by is that you only get points on non-sale items - so in a way they trick you - either you get something on sale or you get points. Great wine selection. I only have one white wine that I will go out of my way to buy, and not many places have it, but they do. Yay sophistication! 1. WARNING! I'm about to completely go beer geek on yo behind. I asked if they had a Sam Adams Utopias...and they said yes...over there...in that display case. IT WAS ON THE FREAK'N SHELF! Those of you who know what this beer is are currently questioning my truthfulness. Those unaware of this beer...well...I'm sorry you don't know what it is. Basically, it's like finding a needle in a haystack, and costs a day's worth of labor. The fact that they had it in stock...in plain daylight...was a miracle. I've never seen one for sale, and will probably never see one again. But Heritage had it, and I will forever be grateful. Oh yeah, their selection in everything is pretty great. No. 2 on 24/7 Wall Street's annual '50 Best Cities to Live' list (bummer, you guys were pipped to the top spot by some place in Indiana that no one's ever heard of). Alas, in the face of all these clear indicators of exceptionalism, this cruddy wine store represents the ginger stepchild of Centennial. Listen...if you're the type of consumer whose alcohol consumption style might best be described as "MD 20 20 out of a brown bag", then this could be the place for you. However, if you're looking to deliver champagne to a corporate client, then I'd suggest you fly there yourself and hand it to them personally. Hell, hire a mariachi band to deliver it with an upbeat and catchy song. Either option will spare the awkwardness of some creepy-looking dude forcefully thrusting a bottle, inexplicably wrapped in a brown paper bag, into your clients' hands -- leaving them uncertain as to whether or not they should call the police on this vagrant. We didn't purchase the "janky champagne delivery" package; quite the opposite in fact. The subsequent customer service when we attempted to address the issue? Well, that was about as refined and well thought-out as United Airlines' storied approach to flight overbooking. 'Nuff said. Go elsewhere. Seriously. Heritage sucks. read more

Unless I'm mistaken, Heritage Liquors --along with Safeway--- has been the flagship store of its respective stripmall since the 1970's! The place is well stocked with a wide assortment of beer n' booze. They seem to have an enormous selection of whiskey, vodka and other spirits. Pricing is fair, as well. Can't complain about the service, either. The place has an ample amount of floor space, making it seem very open. The checkout counters are worn... and if you think about it, that's the sign of an unblemished liquor store. Nevertheless, this is a spacious store that has a great wine selection, as well as spirits and beers. I have purchased other hard liquor here, but I don't think I've purchased much beer. When I first found out about this place I was drinking more wine than anything, but whenever I'm headed this way, if I have to stop in to look at their selection. My parents sent me out to grab beer for our Christmas Eve dinner. We had a lot to do that day and lots of errands to run so I had my underage brother along and because we were so rushed I didn't even think twice about him tagging along into the store. At checkout, we were promptly informed that because he was there and I wasn't his parent/guardian that we weren't allowed to buy the beer. I told the cashier that it was my mistake and I understood that it was their policy and that it was no big deal, and made to leave. But NO, this guy calls over a manager and makes this big scene and I finally have to just force my way out. I get it. I was wrong, I wasn't even thinking about it and shouldn't have brought my brother in with me. Whoops. But I didn't press the issue and was fully prepared to leave without the beer. I could have done without the big scene and because of it I will never go back to what used to be my favorite liquor store. Bummer. read more

When I moved to the 'burbs 8.5 years ago I needed alcohol to celebrate. Dearest friend from college said..."only place to go is Heritage" and yep that was it. This staff knows their wine, beer, & spirits! You can go in...tell them what you're in the mood for and they'll point out several selections in various price ranges. They're not snobby and well, now, I think they know my tastes better than I do. One of the gentlemen there reminded me that I'd tried a certain wine and didn't like it. Now that's service! This place is the "Cheers" bar of liquor stores. You walk in, an angel choir starts singing, and then the party starts. Well, actually, the party probably starts after you leave, but you get the point. When I walk in, I'm usually greeted by their beer guy, who proceeds to tell me what's new - both on the shelves and in the back. It's that friendly here. I should probably mention that I love craft beer, but know nothing of wine, and my 80-proof days are mostly over. The store does seem to have a huge cache of every type of hard liquor, and a solid wine selection, but any medium to large liquor store should have these things. So back to the beer - their selection of specialty beers, bombers, and limited-edition beers is as good or better than Tipsy's. Jay, the scruffy-looking dude by the beer fridges, is very knowledgeable, and if they don't have what you want, they are willing to talk to their distributors to find it. And, they offer discounts for buying full or half cases. Oh, and if you sign up for a "heritage card," you get $20 in free beer for every $500 you spend. And you don't even have to stuff another card into your wallet - just give your name at checkout. Rock steady. read more

I used to go to another liquor store because it was closer, but had ventured in to Heritage before. They seem to have good hours- as they were open during a holiday time last year when others weren't. Clean place and easy to find your preferred alcohol as they clearly label everything.
