I have used Pioneer Printing for a variety of jobs for about 10 years from simply enlarging drawings to printing cards from my paintings. This family is always polite and professional and their pricing is very reasonable. I have never had a bad experience with Pioneer Printing. read more

I emailed them to start about printing out some all occasion greeting cards. I sent four .jpg files as examples of what I wanted. The graphic only took up half the page. I stopped in the shop and spoke to Larry, he said he would prefer .pdf files. Not a problem I responded and while I'm doing that I'll do two cards per 8 1/2 x 11 so we don't waste paper and it works out better then and cheaper. Larry said yes that would be cheaper and better. Went home and worked my butt off to get them just right and placement right, because Larry was adamant about not having to make any adjustments. I was quoted 200 cards for $94. When I told Larry I would do two per sheet he said that would be fine and it didn't matter on price. I told them on my inItial email and in person the four prints I brought in was only a sample of what I had and I would be bringing a lot more in on a thumb drive. Larry said that was fine. I went in the store with to see how a test print turned out. Larry acts like he doesn't know me and every question I'm now asking he looks confused and not sure of anything. I felt like I was starting over. I looked at the print they had printed out, it was on ugly yellow paper and just didn't look right. Larry reassured me it was only because the printer was low on ink. Went home and got my 47 .pdf files ready. Went back in with my husband with the thumb drive to have them print my sheets. Jeremy, Larry's son is now helping me with Larry sitting at the computer right next to us. I showed them my .pdf files and I had one printed out so they knew exactly what I wanted. I said I would do the 200 prints for the $94.00 to which Larry pipes in and said, "Oh no with the .pdf files we need to charges you more, because someone has to hit the button." I say, "Well I need to know how much more!" Larry was very rude and says, "I'm not sure maybe $12.00." I said, "Okay I need to know I am on a very tight budget!" Larry responds rudely, "I said $12.00!" Jeremy copied my files to their computer and said he would do my job the next day. I get a voice mail on my phone from Jeremy stating he was all setup, but realized he would be giving me 400 cards with printing two per sheet and he wasn't going to do that. I called him back the next morning and told him that Larry and I had talked and that we both agreed it would be far better. Jeremy tells me if it was the same photo and card on one sheet it would be okay, but to different pictures would be considered a different card and he would have to charge me for it. I told him what does it matter to you? You are printing one page. Anyway I told him to cancel my order and I'd do a Yelp review and drive the 38 miles into Durango to find an honest printer. Now I'm going to have a banner made and walk up and down the Main Street that Pioneer Printers are liars. read more

I took 2 books to the shop to have a spiral put on the spine. He asked if tomorrow was a good day. I went the next day after that and he said they weren't quite done yet and as I could see he started doing them. At that time he took my payment. Another customer entered, and he stopped doing my books saying they were almost done, to help the new customer that was slow enough and I had already waited long enough and my husband was waiting in the car. I said I would come back another day. His website says that he is open, but no one answers the phone but a machine. 1 star and I still don't have my books back. read more

I don't see ZERO stars as a choice for rating. Too bad. First, they misquoted the price for a job. When they had all the information they needed to complete the job, they raised the price by 50%. They wouldn't honor their original quote that they had put IN WRITING. BUT they would have the product in a week to 10 days. At that point they had us over a barrel. We had spent a great deal of time pricing our project elsewhere and didn't have time to change to another printer. But then they took OVER A MONTH to complete the job. The product was a time-sensitive item that we are trying to sell as a fundraiser. They came out way too late for us to sell many. We lost a bunch of money on this deal. Oh, by the way, they misspelled a person's name in the final print that had been correct in the original proof. Funny that they changed it to the owner's name. NO THANKS, PIONEER! So much for trying to keep the business local. read more
