ADA signs have to be the correct sign, the right symbol, the right color, the right fonts, the right type of raised braille and even installed in the right place on the wall. I was in over my head on this one. After realizing that every business we'd already signed in this newly built office complex wanted a different style and color of ADA sign set, I was completely lost. Making a mistake wasn't an option as mistakes are expensive. Expensive to replace signs and we do not want ADA fines. I asked one of the interior designers for some guidance and she told me about these guys. She said they would be able to offer guidance and they made top quality signs. I called them up and had a long talk with a man named Don O'Toole, regarding my sign predicament. He wasn't ruffled in the least. Apparently Signs PDQ handles jobs like filling entire hospitals and universities with ADA Signs. Don took notes about all of my requirements. There was even one part of the requirements that was unclear- and this guy offered to call the gov't office that would be inspecting my complex for compliance and ask them "point blank" what they required in this particular instance. Naturally, I said yes, please find out! You can absolutely handle your order online and on the phone, you do not have to go there in person. But I had other business in Cleveland. I decided to go see the Signs PDQ folks in person and really iron this out. I mean we're talking about MY job here and I chose not to take any risks. These guys are great. They were glad to see me, happy to go over my order, they showed me samples, they had perfectly matched the sample swatch colors that the interior designers had given me to send to them. In my mind, this was a giant storm cloud of signs hanging over me. In their shop the signs were all in order and it was clear which sign went to which part of the building. I can't recommend Signs PDQ / ADA Signs Wholesale highly enough. After initially talking to them I did look around to compare prices, and I still went with them. Their prices are very reasonable and the customer service is second to none. After news of this experience (ALL of my first ever sign project coming in under budget, finished on time and fully compliant) went through the grapevine of my entire company, Signs PDQ are quickly becoming our company wide "go to" for all new construction and remodeling projects.
