After reading a horrible and negative review posted about Pipe Dreams Farm, I just had to write my own review and post some photos about this amazing place. My 7-year old daughter started taking riding lessons at Pipe Dreams Farm (PDF) when she was 5. From the very first time we arrived on the property, we were treated as valued customers. Susan Wilcox who owns the facility, and her crew of trainers were professional, extremely knowledgeable, and super friendly; we immediately felt comfortable. Over the last 2 years that we have been customers, we have been treated to feel more like family. My daughter takes a lesson or two every week at PDF, and we feel welcomed and at home EVERY time we are there. My daughter has become a more skilled rider and has been encouraged to participate in schooling shows in the Sacramento area. She takes lessons from Tawny, who is a young, very experienced, skilled rider. She has given my daughter confidence and has become our friend. We have referred numerous customers to PDF over the last year, and all of these individuals have had similar experiences to ours and continue to do business with Susan Wilcox. I am not sure why someone would have had anything but a wonderful experience with Pipe Dreams Farm. I have personally seen Susan welcome new customers for a variety of things--boarding facilities, riding lessons, and individuals looking to lease or buy a horse. I have witnessed Susan professionally managing her business. I always tell people what an amazing place PDF is, and how they'll feel welcome, comfortable, and treated with respect. Please don't base your choice of this business on some crazy review from someone who is not a customer. Experience Pipe Dreams Farm for yourself!!

Bought a horse for my daughter. Was told it was a horse for beginner riders. A bucking bronco is not a beginner horse ! Very disappointed

The kids had a great time feeding and petting the animals and riding the horses. It was such a peaceful getaway and Pam the host was so charming and helpful. The nearby towns of Penn Valley and Nevada city were higher end then a lot of the other western towns I had been to around California and had some great dining options. We were able to visit the mining museum and stop over in Tahoe to see some snow for the kids. The estate also had a great hot tub and we were able to bbq steaks at night and there was plenty of outdoor space for dining. We had a great restful time and it was a great weekend getaway. Pam even made us home made breakfast and dinner which was also delightful! Highly recommend!

I searched and searched for the perfect place and this was it. I was traveling with family and friends, including two energetic 7 year old girls who are nuts for animals (with the attention span of a gnat). Pam's place is majestic, a quick hour to skiing, hiking, etc. At first we felt we were MILES into the sticks but once we got our bearings it was a very quick 10-minute drive out to the store. We didn't cook much but if we had to there were pots and pans, a nice-sized cuisinart hot plate (everything there is top of the line!!), a Kuerig coffee pot with biodegradable pods (which we appreciated). The wine fridge was enough to keep some groceries if you wanted. And by groceries, I stored beer in there. The kids loved movie night on the big screen TV, doing crafts around the beautiful kitchen table, and of course going down to see the horses. The large tub, we couldnt get them out of it...which was absolutely perfect, they were filthy at the end of each day! We enjoyed the massive show the sky gave us come night time! Stars galore! Pam was over the top generous with her time. Memories of the ranch and the space Pam has created for her furry, four-legged family will live warmly in our hearts until we return.

They were welcoming, patient, knowledgeable, and made every student feel included. Our students had an incredible opportunity to learn about ranch and farm life, tractors, horses, foals, farm animals, hay, and the daily responsibilities of caring for a ranch. The hands-on experiences were the highlight of the day. Students were able to groom horses, interact with animals, ask questions, and gain a real appreciation for agriculture and animal care. Terry and his team kept the students engaged from beginning to end. What made this experience even more special was Terry Howard's generosity. Shadow Glen donated approximately three hours of their time at no charge to educate three classes of Center Joint Unified School District students. That level of community support is truly appreciated. Our students are still talking about the trip, and the adults had just as much fun as the kids. It was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
