Have you ever stopped into a store "just because?"…read more That's pretty much what triggered a recent visit to Butler-Tarkington's Lunch Money Boutique, one of the more recent additions to this perfectly lovely area that specializes in luxury children's clothing from newborn to size 16. Lunch Money Boutique emphasizes sustainable fashion for the kiddos (Am I the only one who wrestles with whether to spell it as kiddos or kiddoes?). Lunch Money is located next to Byrne's Grilled Pizza. I really do love this corner, though it's definitely more of a premium corner in terms of shopping. Lunch Money? The styles are adorable (and yes, leaning toward "luxury"). The employees are friendly. The store itself is nicely designed and a genuinely pleasing atmosphere. I'm not sure what it says about me that these newborns have better fashion sense than I do, but if their parents shop here it's definitely true. For those with mobility issues, entering from the back is your best option in terms of accessibility. There is a step up-front. It's my one major downer for this entire neighborhood - it's just not particularly wheelchair friendly. I didn't end up buying anything on this visit, though I undoubtedly would. If you're looking for more premium options and care about sustainability, I'd definitely recommend a visit here. As an added plus, this is also the same building as Kids Ink. While I'm getting old enough that most of my friends don't have young children, on those occasions when I am looking for options for the children in my life I won't hesitate to return here.

Since it has opened I have stopped in a few times looking for gifts or something fun for one of my toddlers to wear. My favorite purchase is a UFO hair claw clip. The staff is friendly and the vibe makes you feel like a cool cat. For sure check out all of the clocks! After you do some shopping you might as well continue down the street for kid books at Kids Ink and pizza at Byrnes. Illinois Street has the best shops for a nice little afternoon in Indy.

This was one of the most frustrating resale experiences I've had…read more I brought in a bag of neatly folded kids' clothes and was told they couldn't even review them unless I unpacked everything into their baskets. After doing that, I was then told everything needed to be refolded again. Completely unnecessary and a waste of time. The staff was rude, unhelpful, and acted like helping customers was a burden. Combined with the slow process and how selective they are, it's just not worth it. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be the norm--long waits, inconsistent rules, and very low payouts. Honestly, I don't understand how this place stays in business when the experience is this unpleasant. Save your time and take your items somewhere that actually values customers.

DO NOT COME HERE IF: -You don't want to wait in the store…read more They make you wait while they go through all of your things. No other store does this! -You have to go to the bathroom. They have no public restrooms -You don't want to be bombarded with Christian music They have two tiny benches in the back of the store for you to sit and wait There is nothing to entertain kids It was freezing in the store. Had I not driven 30 minutes to come here I woulda told them to give me my stuff back so I could leave. I WILL NEVER be returning to this store to sell again Oh and to top it off, they processed someone else's buy before mine that arrived AFTER me! So incredibly frustrated with this store Arrived at 10:10am. Was told it would be a 45 minute wait. I waited a total of an hour and 20 min. They did buy quite a bit of my items so I was happy with that, but for everything that I sold to them, they only gave me $40 which I do feel like is a rip off
