Second driver we had (didn't catch name, but cab 11) was quite rude. She was twenty minutes late after the time requested. She insulted my son saying he didn't know how to slam doors. After he tried to shut the door 3x. Didn't get out of cab to shut door properly. And drove in town going over 60 in a 35. Was checking her messages on phone. Went over potholes on my son's side on purpose. Finally at the end of the ride, after my husband mentioned to her to get the cracked windshield fixed her response was obnoxiously saying "and". This is a safety hazard. The last item to mention was she started the fare at $4.80 before we drove a foot. Zoom in for cracked windshield. Dakota gets a 5 out of 5. Cab driver 11 gets a 0.

However, the shore excursion was very disappointed due to raining, basically the shuttle bus dropped visitors off at the visitor center and let guests go for a walk to see glaciers, but most tour people decided to stay at the visitor center to avoid a slippery through walking. It is better to stay on the ship to view the scenes. Tip: You may avoid visiting Alaska in September due to a bad whether, or you can't see any glaciers during the 7-day cruise, e.g., the captain decided to forgo the scenary route due to a bad whether, which resulted most cruisers not see any glaciers during the entire cruise period.

We started off with the Rainforest walk and then stopped over at visitor center and learned about the local Totem art and history. My husband and I are avid oyster lovers and when I saw this as an excursion choice I knew we had to go! Pick-up from the dock was easy and since we were the first tour, it was just us and one other person! Everyone from our driver, the capt, and staff at Hump Island were so welcoming, friendly, and informative about the area. With our group being so small, it felt more intimate and enjoyable. Our boat ride was great to and from Hump Island because our captain made sure to show us around and we were able to catch glimpses of bald eagles and whales! Once we arrived to Hump Island Oyster Co we were greeted and given such detail about the process at the farm. Our kids got to enjoy their touch tank and even spotted some jellyfish! Once upstairs, we enjoyed raw and charbroiled oysters along with some amazing salsas and sauces. The whole experience reminded my husband and I of that of wine tasting, but with oysters. Conversation flowed and the laid back atmosphere was comfortable and enjoyable. It was magical being in this part of Alaska and enjoying fresh oysters shucked right in front of us and grown right there. Thank you, Hump Island Oyster Co!
