Sunset was about $20 less than the Motel 8 across the street, so I decided to give it a shot. While in bed, I could feel something biting my legs. The next day I was itching all over, even after a few showers. Then I broke out in hives from an allergic reaction, likely from bed bugs. My family needed a place to stay at the last minute and Terry helped me find the perfect option for all 9 of us to stay. We were able to walk to Indiana Beach. You are within 200 yards of the park's entrance, which was so convenient. By being a guest at Bay Side Resort, you also received a generous discount into the park. The property had paddle boats and kayaks that were free to use. This was something the whole family participated in, and was an added perk that no other rental offered. There is a giant deck for all residents to enjoy without feeling cramped. They offered a multitude of grills (gas/charcoal) so we were able to enjoy grilling out as a family which also saved us money by being able to avoid an expensive restaurant. They are located on a quiet bay area that has minimal big boat traffic, so the family was able to swim in Lake Shafer, along with boating. If you don't want to swim in the lake, the property also had a large swimming pool and hot tub. There is a convenient marina located across the bay, so if you need to rent a boat or wave runner you had that option as well. There was also a huge fire pit that is free to use at your leisure. The inside of the house we rented was rustically beautiful. It had a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, and sink. The bathroom had a walk in shower. The particular house we had included a queen, full, set of bunk, and futon beds. Overall the experience was wonderful. We highly recommend to anyone looking for an awesome place to stay. We spent the night last night it was quite pleasant. There were a few lid and obnoxious people riding around yelling on a golf cart last night keeping everyone up. But thankfully the owners were on top of it. We took showers at the bathhouse and it was nice. They have serveral different amenities not found everywhere else and wonderful customer service. Prices are affordable. We have had a wonder time and will definitely come back. I would totally recommend!

We didn't actually camp- neither of us was up for that- but spent most of two days here, while most of the family stayed onsite for four days. The owners are friendly, and let us set up a large area for the tents, tables, cooking, etc. Some sites have water and electricity. There are plenty of trees, a pool, a pond, etc. Firewood and ice are available at decent prices. There seemed to be lots of families here, many with dogs, generally quiet. The kids can chase frogs, swim, play games, while the older folks talk/tell goofy stories. It's not far from Indiana Beach, places to fish, etc.
