Disapointing first time visit at this restaurant. Definitely won't be back, Me and my sibling came in an made a Large& Medium order for a chicken platter. Service was mid. 30 min to use being seated and eating, I decided to order the same thing but to go this time. Average shawarma place, a bit better then shawarma max across the street in my opinion. I normally go here for convenience. Their chicken shawarma is good but not the best I've had, one problem I face is that it is not consistent time and time again when it's good it's good. When it's an off day the chicken is bland. The same can be said with the portion size for the plates. Sometimes you get a lot of chicken sometimes they like on the rice and give you a small amount of chicken. The 2 guys working the counter were a little terse in the beginning, but once we decided on our ordered, they were very patient and accommodating. The salad, tabouleh, & turmeric rice were satisfying. The meal served its purpose. My son ordered the beef shwarma. He said the beef made him feel nauseous. He didn't eat it all. So I definitely fancy myself a bit of a shawarma connoisseur, having tried several different varieties and restaurants. Really, I have to say this place is my favourite. BUT - and unfortunately - there are lots of areas to improve. Pros: - FATIMA!! She's an incredibly kind person, always smiling, and always trying to be as accommodating as possible. She literally laces my salads with love and I can't thank her enough for everything she does. - portion sizes are great. I have to actually disagree with some of the previous reviewers as I find that I can usually save half of my salad for tomorrow. - food is tasty. I like the combination of ingredients, spices, sauces, and the quality is definitely there. They've NEVER given me a salad with wilted lettuce, or soggy tomatoes no matter what time of the day I go. - price is competitive with others in market. Maybe it can be argued that they're a little tiny bit overpriced, but I'd rather pay $12 for a fresh salad full of chicken instead of $10 for half wilted lettuce and a few toppings. The value justifies the price for sure. Cons: - long wait times. Fatima can't run the store by herself on a busy Friday night. She does a perfect job for what she's given, but management really needs to up their presence here. - Consistency is not part of their operation. The same order is prepared differently every time. - staff don't always pay attention to special instructions. This is especially true of ubereats orders. - small sit down/waiting area that sometimes can get uncomfortably crammed - no parking! I've been ticketed for not paying street parking before. Incredible! I've been to many many shawarma places, but this one was just amazing. Came here at 11 PM on Sunday being super hungry. The super nice lady Fatimah serving me took the time and prepared a feast of shawarma salad place. I loved it so much, didn't get a chance to take a photo. Purchased a Groupon for pita lite, it's literally a few mins walk from my office. Walked in today to be half greeted by a young girl, not over friendly and I took a few mins to glance over the menu board while she was serving other customers. When it was my turn I told her I have a groupon, right away she aggressively told me I couldn't have any specials. I said ok it's my first time here I'll have a chicken shawarma. She said You can't have it at as the special shawarma only a regular (whatever that means, first time here lady) ok I'll have a regular one, didn't even realize there were different ones. So she makes it up and asks what else since the Groupon is worth 10.00 and the shawarma is 6.79. I said ok I'll have the lentil soup and drink (the board said add an extra 2.99). She spent the next min or so telling me I can't have that because it's considered a special. The young guy working the cash register must have noticed how uncomfortable I was looking being constantly told what I am not allowed to have so He stepped in and said that I can have it and pay the difference. They then whispered to each other a bit. I said if it's a problem I will get something else, a salad or whatever. He said no it's ok for the soup and smiled. She looked even nastier then she did when I walked in. Cool, I'll take it pay the difference and dash out of this place quickly and spare myself any further scolding from young counter girl. If they are trying to get new business they should get rid of the nasty girl and keep the nice, smiley young guy there. A tourist with an English accent walked in with a toonie in hand asking for change. The nice young guy was opening the register to give him change and nasty girl snapped at tourist guy saying no we have no change. He turned around to go out the door and I offered to change his toonie. I pulled out my wallet and gave him 2 loonies for his toonie. That wasn't so difficult, and took a few seconds. Nasty girl needs to take a nice pill before going to work. Food was ok, chicken not bad, a bit salty. Pita was super thin and fell apart half way through. Lentil soup is good. The worst service of any restaurant I've been to. I walk in and the employee is on his phone laughing and texting; he tells me to wait a minute (so he can finish his funny text I assume). I order a meal and he tells me it will be 6-7 minutes. I order the meal and tell him I will wait outside until it's ready. I return 5 minutes later and he hasn't even started yet. In fact he is still texting and chatting with a woman who may or may not be an employee. He told me he would start cooking the meal now. This is a typical pita/shawarma place that serves pita sandwiches and also plates. The key difference is that they also sell kebob dishes. The pictures suggest that the kebob dishes are Iranian style. Koobideh and Chicken kebobs are available. This place's pricing strategy really pushes you to get the specials. I didn't get the specials the 2 times I've been here but maybe I should have, because the things I got were not very good. There are several strikes against. For my first meal here I decided to get a large falafel plate. Relative to other places, I find the falafel here a little hard on the outside and dry on the inside. Portion wise, it's ok for the price you pay. The falafel was subpar but I really liked the salad. For my second meal, I got the beef kebob (2 x ground beef, or koobideh). Once again this is subpar. There are several Iranian places if you go north. All of those places are superior to this, and cheaper. Pita Lite charges $7.99 for a koobideh. Mine didn't come with a tomato/veggies at all as per the picture. There's also no yellow rice. The skewers were adequate and what I expected them to taste like. But every other place sells koobideh for cheaper and they come with salad or pop. So clearly the value is lacking. Oh and they didn't give any sumac or butter. It's literally a box of white rice + kebobs. So basically I don't like their falafel and there are much better choices for Iranian kebobs dishes. Despite the poor rating, I haven't ruled them out yet. It might have been unwise of me to not get their specials. Their specials are their bread and butter and will probably be very decent. Chicken shawarma plate for $5.99? That's what I'm getting next time. Maybe they should just remove all the kebob dishes from the menu because they seem very pricey and subpar if my meal was any indication. ****Update**** I've tried their chicken shawarma plate special for $5.99. We tried the chicken shawarma on lavash and it was plenty big. The lady making it was skimpy on toppings. The toppings could have been a lot nicer prepared to make the presentation look more appetizing. For example lettuce chunks were too big and watery. Same with cucumber. Inconsistent sizes of everything. The sauces were also watery and spread with a knife (lol) -try serving a watery sauce with a knife. It's tricky and skimpy. They need a thicker yogurt base. In spite of all that, I felt that the seasonings and flavour was there and some toppings were very fresh. The chicken on the spit looked very fresh and appetizing. I will go back and I will keep the person who dresses the sandwich in check as they build it. Please increase the consistency and freshness and keep up the rest. Usually when I order souvlaki dinner they put more than one piece of potato, and offer more than just a little bit of Tzatziki sauce, but not here! The owner/manageress is a con artiste! Went with my wife and asked for the Daily Special but she charged me full and returned the (shorted) change without a receipt. She then immediately called to the next customer and must have done the same, because he asked about the price. She ignored him under the pretext of being busy taking more orders. When we asked about it, she said she gave us the correct change and that we did not say exactly that we wanted the day's special! We pointed out that in any case, that item was the day's special anyway. She began belittling us for trying to be cheap! All but one of the guys preparing the food are helpful. One guy, seems to be a relative of the woman, is rude and crude, however. The business is busy but I've noticed that most customers do not actually count the change they are handed, but just blindly pocket it, even thanking the cashier/owner who actually talks down to the clients ! There is another place, on the opposite side, Shawarma Max opposite Tim Hortons, that is not busy, but really honest and has good food too. read more

Today, I thought I would go to Pita Lite and have a dinner after work... Yikes!! It was a very bad idea. Let me start: The daily special was beef shawerma, okay great! I paid $11.24! Hold on, did I just pay this much for a "daily special" which left me starving still? Here is the crazy part, when you hear of daily special .. what kind of special do you think of? at least a $2 difference.. right?? I look at the TVs he has up and this is what I see.. $9.95 for today's special vs. the regular price of $10.50 so that makes a special? 55 cents ? Really? What kind of misleading pricing is this? I call that a sneaky way of marketing. I tried to explain to the girl who works there that 1. the daily special prices have gone up and 2. the portions has been substantially reduced. She said "seriously?" in a condescending manner. I told her that she can pass the message to the owner that I'm extremely disappointed and that they just lost loyal customers. We were one of the 1st and most loyal customers to this place.
