This place is amazing!!! From service to its food, its top notch! We tried the Falafel platter, which is perfect if u want falafels and hummus as a side. The chicken shawarma is amazing, so flavorful. Don't even need the garlic sauce. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!

    "Regular" sized chicken shawarma plate.

Very satisfying and well-priced. The garlic potatoes are fantastic and you can't fault the chicken nor the rice. The "regular" (realistically HUGE) portions for $2 more is a massive plate and good enough for two large meals (I do believe the prices on the website are outdated). The garlic sauce also tasted great and the spicy sauce provides an interesting 'afterburn'. Service is lacking. Clearly their specialty is in take-out, the server is rarely in sight (in a small store) and didn't remember customizations (eg. we were asked if we wanted all potatoes, or half rice/half potatoes, and everyone got half/half). There is limited parking in the lot, as it's shared with a large number of other establishments. The restaurant has a not-very-noticeable sign with a white background. They do accept credit cards, which is set by default not to ask for tip (?). It will shop up on your credit card statement as Orely Grill (sic).

Order chicken shawarma wrap and lentil soup. Chicken was ok, but terrible lentil soup. It just hot water with a bit carrots and lentil. And the taste is like exactly water. It was the first time that I was in this restuarant but I am so unhappy. Dont waste your money for lentil soup.

Used to frequent this place a lot but sadly to say, it's not the same anymore. The asian lady serving has terrible attitude. Of course everyone has their bad days but this was not the first time. This will be the last time I will be supporting this local business. Not to mention the food, the potatoes were not edible. They were as hard as a rocks which only makes me think they've been sitting there for a long while. Im so disappointed. Definitely not coming back !

I always enjoy Greek food in the States, mostly because they tend to be healthy and tasty. Therefore when I was visiting Toronto, I looked for a place that has quality Greek food. Do yourself a favor, removed all the chain ones from your search list. I tend to find one that's family run and make their food with wholesome ingredients. Orly seemed to meet Yelp search criteria. When we visited, there was ample parking in the front. We were immediately greeted and the owner/ manager made sure my mom that speaks minimum English feels comfortable. This is not a full service restaurant. It's a take-out restaurant with a small clean eating area. The food was good portion and tasty. Service was amazing. We felt like home. The only minor disappointment was the unavailability of tabouli and other side veggies (picked red cabbage). I would really recommend this Greek restaurant if you are in the North York/Willowdale area.

    Pita!

I've been eating here for the last couple years, I always get either the beef or chicken pita with harcho soup. The pitas are huge! The coleslaw filling is the best, meat is grilled perfectly.. so tender and flavorful! The dinner plates are also excellent, love the fluffy rice and garlic potatoes! Parking is in this small lot, it can get tight but it's ok. Definitely recommend this restaurant. The staff that work here are super nice too!

The comical and charming Russian server with the 'good hair day' everyday adds color to this humble establishment which is family owned and OWN shawarma making like a BOSS!!! Pita stuffed with the works, chicken ALWAYS fresh. This ain't your typical reheated chicken from yesterday. Once they run out of the chicken meat, no leftovers from yesterday's seconds will land on your plate because they exercise quality like a gymnast on crack. No fast food practice here. The portions are huge, this is definitely the better location compared to the one at Richmond Hill. Flavor rocks the taste buds with their garlicky side potatoes and tangy slaw that tops off as the shawarma's crowning glory. My only one unpleasant experience is when a lady served us the shawarma plate and she forgot to top the rice with some onions and garlic sauce, (place was not busy, only one person dining in and one takeout customer) so I had to walk back from the car in the rain to kindly request for the toppings that add a gazillion notch to this dish, which she gladly did. We quickly became frequent cravers and I cannot be more happy with a place that believe in making sure their customers are happy and I've seen the staff here welcome new faces and old ones with the most positive approach getting you hooked on their grub. Daaaammmmn shawarma, come to mama!!!!

Came here with my bro for a post-workout meal. He's been going here for months and always gets the same thing. Dark meat grilled chicken with rice and potatoes. He goes crazy for the rice, but I think it's just ok. It tastes great, but it's not as dry and fluffy as I prefer. I LOVED the potatoes and the chicken was cooked perfectly. We'll probably be back for another post-workout eatfest. Atmosphere is very very casual, service was friendly. You order at the counter and they take the food to your table.

Looks sketchy, but this run-down place has a lot to offer! Shawarma plate is probably the best deal here. The portion is unbelievably huge...two people can share this plate! So good and reasonably priced. The meat is so tasty and tender. The salad is fresh and the rice is yummy! The cashier was really friendly when I went there. They also serve alcohol. There are really weird people that come and go. Place is run down. Nothing fancy at all. But you definitely should go here for the Sh awarma plate because it is so delicious and huge!

This is more like a fast food shop that you order and pay, then you sit and eat. Didn't expect too much. Surprising the people working there are super nice. The chef came out asking me how would I like the lamb cooked, I told him medium then he went back to cook. I was impressed as this is just a fast food shop, their service is like a high class restaurant. Food is exceptional delicious, better than restaurant quality! Very impressed. Chef and waitress/ manager came to us and asked how's the food, and did I enjoy the lamb+ is it how I like. Very good service;m, good food. They let us sit as long as we want, also greet us when we left. Small tiny shop has restaurant quality food and service. Impressive

popped in here during lunch, and of course it's because I was craving my New York style chicken on the rocks. the portion was huge but it wasn't satisfying. the rice was over cooked but the chicken was good - I was looking for that perfect garlic sauce but it wasn't enough in the meal. I had to go back and ask for more - which cost me an extra 50 cents. without it my meal would have been dry.

Chicken Shwarma Dinner. Comes with side salad.
    Nicole C.

Excellent value for money. Very large portions. The shwarma meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned the way I like it (nice and simple, very classic shwarma taste). Toppings include various types of cabbage/salad, tomatoes, onions pickled radishes, garlic sauce and hot sauce. The shwarma dinners are huuge. There is no way I could have finished this by myself. It is served on an oval platter and includes half rice, half meat, a few potato wedges, onions, pickled peppers, white sauce and hot sauce. Also includes a starter salad. Whaaat so much food! Ps. The hot sauce smells amazing, but I can't handle spicy food so I didn't try it. Garlicy potatoes are so delicious! Yum! My bf and I were served by the same young, hard working chef/server with blonde streaks in his hair. He strikes me as very nice and is always making a joke here and there. I love this guy and this little place and will definitely come back many many more times.

A Toronto institution since 1984, this specialty grocery store sells lots of high quality European products as well as has a large deli meat and cheese selection. They also do deli sandwiches where you order at the counter, where the sandwich is made to order. I've heard of this Italian neighbourhood gem for a while now where I finally went to try their sandwiches recently (on a Saturday!). Walking to the storefront, we almost missed the shop as the "La Salumeria" was so unassuming where the colour was fading as well. Walking inside, every inch of the store was filled with products. Reading other reviews, we made sure to pick up our bread before heading to the counter, which had a short line (about only 3 people ahead of us which was a relief since we went on a Sat around 1pm). Near the cashier there were also lots of delicious looking baked goods as well. We opted to grab a kaiser bun and an Italian bread for the house special sandwich. We also decided to get a mortabella sandwich with the ciabatta bun. At the counter, service was friendly and efficient. All the staff at the deli were working hard to serve customers, making sure that we were attended to. Carlo, the owner, was also present in the shop, helping out making sandwiches as well as recommending customers certain cheeses and answering questions. After placing our order at the counter and handing over our breads to the staffs, we waited about 5 min for our sandwiches to be made. Paying at the cashier, the shop takes cash, debit and credit. When we left, there was another staff who opened the door for us. We ate our sandwiches once we got home. The house special which consists of prosciutto, spicy salami, creamy buffalo mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, spicy peppers, fig jam, balsamic vinegar and olive oil, was delicious. The quality of the deli meats and cheese are definitely the highlight of the sandwich! The fig jam also adds a slight sweetness to the sandwich which works incredibly well with the rest of the ingredients. We also shared a mortabella sandwich which consisted of mortadella, pistachio cream, burrata, tomato and lettuce. The mortabella was good but the house special is definitely the sandwich to order! Priced at around $16 each, the portions of the sandwiches are hefty with ingredients packed inside. The ingredients itself speak for themself as they are fresh and top notch! Service was quick and efficient but friendly. Overall, a great spot for take out sandwiches and other specialty grocery store items. They also have a large selection of deli meats and cheeses as well. Definitely want to return to try the rest of their other sandwich options in the future!

Opened in Feb 2025, the sandwich shop is set to expand opening a second location near Dundas and Ossington sometime this year. They are open daily from 11am to 5pm where you can pre-order off Ambassador for pick up or opt for delivery with Ubereats. When Ariete E Toro first opened last year, I recall seeing the long lines as it became super popular. Fast forward to a year later, I finally tried Ariete E Toro recently. The storefront is on a side street off of Yonge St. where it is take out only. They do have a bench near the window/entrance of the store but usually it's utilized by people waiting for their sandwiches. In the summer though, they have a small patio in front of the shop with some tables and chairs. Menu wise, Ariete E Toro has a variety of sandwiches with ingredients that work well together. You are also able to build your own sandwich if you'd like. They also have beverages like soda and water as well. The store boasts that all their ingredients are high quality. An average price of a sandwich is around $17. I decided to pre-order 2 sandwiches for pick up. These are the two sandwiches I got: - Enzo (mortadella di bologna, pistachio pesto, stracciatella cheese, chopped pistachio, lemon and basil oil). - Rogo Rogo (prosciutto cotto, 'nduja cream, smoked provolone, caramelized onion, arugula, and brown butter vinaigrette) Entering the store to pick up my order, staff were amidst completing my sandwiches. There was already a regular there chatting with staff. Service was quick. My sandwiches were packed and I had half of each at home. The size of the sandwich was pretty big! I could only finish 3/4th of the sandwich. Both the Enzo and the Rogo Rogo were tasty but the Enzo stole the show. The moist bread with the mortadella where the pistachio pesto and hint of stracciatella cheese along with a slight crunch from the chopped pistachio made for a perfect sandwich (I do prefer the bread a bit harder and crunchier though but the texture of this one was still good). I was sharing the sandwiches with my partner and as he opened the packaging he noticed a piece of hair in the sandwich. I would have given a higher rating on Yelp but finding someone else's hair in your food is off-putting. I do hope that if I return next time (either to this location or to their new location near Ossington/Dundas) that we won't find any surprises in our food. Overall, delicious sandwiches in Midtown Toronto, however, we did find a piece of hair in our sandwiches which.... kind of makes me hesitant to return. **Update** - I wrote a review on Google where the owner personally asked me to email them to rectify the situation with the piece of hair found in my sandwich. The owner apologized and stated that he was actually the one who personally made my sandwich that day (sliced the deli meat, etc.). He also made sure that he would speak with the bread manufacturer to make sure that they were aware of the situation as it may have come from the bread as well. He also gave me a refund for one sandwich as well as a $25 credit for if I wanted to give the sandwich spot another chance (the sandwich is too good to not go back!). That is what I call great customer service - making sure that an apology was given and that customers are happy. Would happily return again for their tasty sandwiches!!

As for Il Re, the combination of 3 cold cuts, Provolone Crema, roasted garlic and olive salad had created a perfect taste. Definitely worth every calorie. Lol

Starting with a base of roasted eggplant, slivers of quickly smoked pepper and raw celery & onion are mixed in, so the dip is creamy and crunchy. As a babaganoush lover, I thoroughly enjoyed this version! Without tahini the dip is lighter and brighter. Still their bababanoush ($9) is good with large chunks of eggplant and tons of tahini turning it creamy. It's just a touch sweet for me. For the carb conscious, the dips arrive without a pita ($1.50), so you won't be tempted. I wanted one with the eggplant and pepper... it's your regular run-of-the-mill thick pocketed pita. It's remarkable how much they can stuff in a pita. You'll need to unhinge your jaw to bite into lamb kefta in a pita ($18), the ground meat kebab juicy and each bite bringing different flavours. The bites with their zesty and slightly spicy amba sauce are my favourite and despite the abundance of onion, they're well soaked so the acidity is removed and a crunchy sweetness remains. Their sandwiches arrive solo but is enough to satisfy. The price for a side of French fries ($11) is a bit steep but it's a huge portion, enough to share amongst three. The beef shish kabob ($30) was a tad chewy but at least cooked well and perfectly seasoned and not overly salty. I recommend upgrading to their Greek salad ($4 supplement), a village style version containing large chunks of juicy ripe tomato, crunchy cucumber, briny creamy feta, and onions. Limon augments the salad with roasted red paper and capers adding a savoury smoky element that's delicious. If you're in the mood for beef, order the strip steak ($34) instead. It's less grizzly and you get a sizeable portion of meat cooked to your liking. With three pieces of fish arriving in the roasted rainbow trout ($30), this is a shareable main. It's well cooked with crispy skin and tender meat and simply topped with onions and pomegranate seeds. Having visited on three occasions, the sole visit the restaurant wasn't full was during a weekday lunch. And when it gets busy the ordering and paying process slows down as Limon creates a bottleneck by flowing both operations into one person, who I assume is the manager. Despite a number of workers, they seem to focus on serving, refilling water, and cleaning up. If you ask one to take an order or pay, the request gets redirected to the manager. What an odd way to slow down table turnover at a restaurant. Warning: the tightly packed tables create a loud ambient noise at the restaurant. It's a bit much at first, but as the meal progresses, I tuned it out. When the weather's nice and they open the front windows, it almost feels like you're sitting al fresco somewhere a bit more exotic than Midtown Toronto. A beautiful meal indeed.
