COMPLAINT I, Lance…read moreM, brought my truck to Rick's Automotive Repair, aka Baldwin Automotive LLC, (Rick G Baldwin) owner, by appointment to maintenance my transmission fluid by changing out the transmission filter and transmission fluid on my Dodge Ram 1500, VIN # 1B7HC16X5YS536348, on April 06, 2018. I used my truck that weekend and had no use for it for about two weeks. When I went to use my Dodge truck again there was considerable jerking. I checked my transmission fluid. There was no fluid showing on my transmission dipstick while either running the engine or with the engine off. I noticed a large area of transmission fluid on the graveled ground where my truck was parked. That same day I drove my car to Rick's Automotive and tried talking to Rick Baldwin telling him about the spill of transmission fluid from my Dodge truck and asked him what he suggested we do about this. Rick wouldn't look at me and was unwilling to make any arrangements with me about looking into my transmission leakage issue. I offered to have my truck towed to his shop. Rick Baldwin's reply was an emphatic "No"! Rick made it clear that he did not want me to have my truck towed to his place of business. The Defendant did mumble, as he walked away from me that he would call me and left me standing alone in his office. I waited for 3 days and received no call from the owner Rick Baldwin. I called the shop and asked for the Rick. Janet who answered the phone on June 11, 2018, asked if she could help me. I shared my story with Janet and she said that Rick was presently not available but that she would talk to the Rick about my transmission fluid leakage. I asked Janet "Will you be calling me back?" Janet said she would call me back. I never heard from Janet again. Consequently, I made an appointment to have another auto mechanic repair shop to look at my truck to determine the cause of my transmission fluid leak. On July 13th. I took my truck to another auto repair shop in Hermitage, MO. They checked my transmission filter and pan. It was found and documented that my transmission pan gasket to be leaking and required resealing. Of course, this was an additional #100.00 cost over and above what I paid Rick's Automotive aka Baldwin Automotive LLC. To this date, my transmission pan no longer leaks and I have never heard from Rick's Auto Repair aka Baldwin Automotive LLC. Lance M The automotive repair I hired to fix Rick's Automotive sloppy work "Found that the Transmission pan gasket was leaking and needed to be resealed" I was also told that the lip of the transmission pan and engine block were dirty. Also, mentioned was that it appeared that a torque wrench was not used considering one area of the pan was not tight sealed and the other side of the pan was tightened so tight that the rubber gasket seal bulged out and the entire seal showed signs of fresh transmission fluid that leaked from the transmission pan.
