Update ; PARENTS -- This Could Be Your Child The state admitted it wasn't unfounded. My kids were believed enough that they couldn't rule it out. That alone tells you this center is unsafe But let me tell you something I don't need no preponderance of evidence to know the truth. I don't need no fancy paperwork. I got the truth sitting right in my house. I got the pain in my kids' eyes, I got the trauma in their behaviors, I got the evidence written all over their little hearts. It also sad that a teacher had to lose her job during this investigation because she spoke the truth about what really goes on behind closed doors at another kindercare location , but all the other ones choose not to be honest . it's also sad and sick that it usually takes a child being seriously hurt of no way of return for something you can't ignore or cover up before they finally call it substantiated. By then, the damage is already done. Quick lesson: Unfounded = didn't happen ( Kids was lying) Unsubstantiated = might've happened, can't prove it just means the staff covered for each other. Period. Y'all chose jobs over innocent kids. Substantiated = Happen because the adults spoke up , alongside the kids Note: The only part of the statement that was recanted/ corrected/changed was the name of the teacher. In the original report, we listed Leslie's name, but the very next day we learned the actual teacher responsible for the harm was Lidia Robles. SHAME ON THE ONES WHO LIED OR HELD THE TRUTH. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE . My son recently attended Kindercare on E.Leland, he started in the baby room & the teachers were great. They let us know times he was rough & other times were he was playing nicely. He transtioned to the 2yr old room & although we thought things were normal, in Feb 2025 we were called to a meeting about his behavior. This was a complete shock to us because first of all he is 2 years old. He is still learning how to play nice with others & how to be gentle. 2nd thing was the teachers in that room never once brought it up to us during drop offs or pick ups. At the meeting the director Paula was very rude & condescending. She spoke to us as if we were children & Tayland was very nervous in front of her kept stuttering. We got through the meeting & made a plan to how we can keep things consistent at home and at school to hopefully improve my sons rough tendencies. After that EVERY SINGLE DAY, I would asked teacher Tayland at pickups about my childs day & he aways replied that he was seeing improvements. He even went out his way to tell me that my son is getting more comfortable with him so redirection is getting easier. In March, we got another call from Paula in the middle of the day stating we need to come pick our son up because he is being " too much". His dad & I both work full time jobs so this was completely inconvienent but of course we made arrangements to leave work early. When I arrived she proceeded to tell me that his behavior is NOT getting better. I was so confused since Tayland was telling me otherwise every single day. We ended up taking him out because they were not willing to work with my 2 yr old. Paula did not once make an effort to come up with another plan or solution, she just kept telling us things that Tayland told her & he just kept stuttering looking confused per usual. This facility does not look out for your childs best interest & they are completely unreliable. They had no interest in trying to help my kid even though they are supposed to be the trained profressionals. Tayland has no idea what he is doing even though he talks like he does. Paula is rude & has a negative spirit she doesn't need to work with anything that has to do with children. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! read more

My daughter attended KinderCare Pittsburg from when she was 15 months old. The Asst Director Julie helped her into smooth transition . She always gave updates when I called to check in on her as I was having separation anxiety as a mom. The updates were shared via app along with photos which was great to know what my daughter was doing. The monthly calls by her teacher to share about her progress and her interests was a great way to know more about her interests . Her teacher Laura was very helpful in answering all the questions I had . We had to discontinue coz of health reasons but she enjoyed the time she had at Pittsburg KinderCare. read more

I love that they send pictures and videos of my child while I am at work. It makes me feel that my son is safe and having fun. I love that the day care helps my son also be able to help him with interact with others kids because my son is the only 1 I have, which he's learning in day care to share. I also like the day care has meals and snacks and are able to show them arts and crafts. I also like they change diapers and are able to teach potty training. Said I can call or drop in anytime to ease my nerves. My little one is now 18 months and she has been learning new things that I can only thank KinderCare for. My daughter has been attending KinderCare Pittsburg since she was 7 months old and she is now 2 years old. Ms. Seema, the infant care teacher is a baby whisperer and my daughter still loves to go to her class and say hi to her. The one year old class is wonderful and has helped my daughter to learn and grow as well. She is now in the two year old class and staff has been very responsive her specific nutritional needs. Do NOT send your infants there! I enrolled my 9 mos. Old baby. He had never gotten sick before and After only two days there, he came home with a severe stomach virus. Constant diarrhea, and projectile vomitin as if he was in the movie The Exorcist. I called to ask if by any chance they have given him some dairy products (because we eat a Vegan diet) or maybe someone else's baby formula ( he is breastfed) . They told me absolutely Not. Even though, he stayed home the following week, we still had to pay our fee. We were only looking for care three days a week, which they were charging $300/week. We spent $600 and he only went there two days. We came back the following week after he got better and asked for our diapers back. Paula the Asst. directo, emailed me right after asking if everything was okay. Mind you, they've never called before this to see if he was okay....even after telling them how sick he was the week prior. Her email back to me was very disregarding..not mentioning that he got sick in their facility. She just apologized and said she would waive the 2 week notice to disenroll a student from Kindercare This place is a joke! read more

KinderCare is a wonderful opportunity for infants and children to learn and thrive. I wish I knew about it sooner. My almost 3-year old daughter has been attending here since she was 18 months old and has been thriving on a whole new level since the day she started. The director and staff are seasoned and wonderful people. At age 2, my daughter knows her alphabet, basic colors and shapes, can count to 20, knows the name of many land animals and sea creatures, knows her name and the names of her peers and teachers, has learned good manners, some life skills, and much more. It's incredible how much she has learned in just one year. I plan to keep her here as long as possible because she's doing so well. The curriculum is wonderful and the kids learn a lot. I like how there are different themes each month of learning such as dinosaurs, art, water and ocean life, insects and spiders, colors and shapes, plants and gardens, animals, and much more. Amazing! I brought my son here when he was an infant and we quickly grew to love the staff and center! As a mom I felt like I was leaving my son with ladies who truly cared for him! The staff helped my son transition into daycare and he quickly took to the daily routine and got excited when we pulled up. I love the routine and my son picked up such good habits. I would get monthly emails letting me know what the class would be working on that month and the projects that came home showed they followed that curriculum. The facility and rooms were always clean. I can't say enough good things about this place! The staff at this center will always hold a special place in my heart. read more

PLEASE do not take your child to this center. My 3 year old grandson was taken there. After 2 or 3 weeks, he still was not happy to go to school. He would freak out as soon as his mom turned on Leland, saying "I don't like it big school". His speech was not very good at that point so we couldn't get him to answer whether there was any abuse, but my daughter saw a teacher pull on a child's arm, and yell at him. This prompted us to become concerned so we called Licensing and found disturbing news. I recommend you check Licensing before allowing your child to go to this school. Both his mom and I had a feeling that "something just wasn't right there". The facility reminded me of a psych hospital with long, lonely halls. No laughter, messy kitchen, not enough staff and the staff that was there seemed pre-occupied. He only brought 1 art project home in almost a month. When we discussed with them, they said it's normal for preschoolers to take up to a month (?) to transition and poo-poo'd my daughter's concerns. My daughter immediately removed him and took him to Railroad Junction. OMG what a blessing. This place is the best. We first walked in and observed laughing and "bustle" of children having fun. The first day, grandson didn't cry and after that, he couldn't wait to get to school. Within a month, his speaking improved to the point where he can converse quite nicely. He has brought about 50 art peices home, had a parade, knows the names of all his classmates and is learning in a multicultural environment. This week he learned about Africa and lunch today will have African salad as a dish. Miss Lilly is a natural with kids. I LOVE RR Junction. THIS is what SHOULD happen in a preschool. If you are planning on using Kindercare, beware, and please call Licensing first and make an informed decision. Personally, I think they should have their licenced yanked. read more

Where do I even begin? My daughter started going here when she was about 3-3 1/2, and is still going there and she is almost 6! The staff here are so delightful and welcoming not ever had an issue with them from checking in to checking out..if I ever have an issue and address it with them right away they are very quick to help find a solution! Also can I mention how attentive they are? Knowing each child's name and what they like and dislike! I remember when I first had to place my daughter in child care and how worried I was but the reassurance they gave my husband and I made things so much easier to transition her from being taken care of by my cousin to being taken by strangers, I can honestly say that I have grown such a strong bond with these people that I consider them like family, also had another baby about two years ago and was not worried to have to bring her here also when she was only 4 months old! I cannot brag enough about how appreciative I am for the people that work here! Where do I begin. My child is now 4 years old, and he still remembers this place when we pass by. He says, "I remember that school, I don't like that school, I like my new school better". So his constant negative sentiments towards this place, has made me want to make this post years later, in hopes to save another parent from the headache. Two of the teachers were great. The upper management in the office, a different story. They never made me feel welcomed. They always made me feel as if I was bothersome, and would barley come out of the office to greet me or other parents from what I saw. One of the office assistants, a young Caucasian woman in her 20s would ignore me as she walked by when I smile and say "Good morning" to her. My son came home with his tooth chipped, no one knows how that happened. He started going there when he was 2, he is now 4, NEVER chipped another tooth thus far. Then this incident takes the cake. So, I called in to make sure my son was doing okay because he was sick, I was out of town (they still charge you for the day even if your child is sick in the hospital with walking pneumonia, still have to pay that childcare, even if the child is absent, so many of the parents would send their children to school extremely sick anyways because they are already low-income and cannot further afford to waste their money, and the cycle of constant sickness continues throughout the class. I was sick 1-2 times a month, for the 9 months that he was there.) So I'm holding on the phone for less than 10 seconds, when I believe her name was "Kim" came back on the line and proceeds to tell me that my son was in class, he's doing fine, he had snack time, and everything is okay..... Well well well would you believe me if "Kim" calls me back 5 minutes later apologizing, so many sorries to count, because MY SON WASN'T EVEN AT SCHOOL THAT DAY!!!! My mother refused to send him to school SICK, (later when I told my mother about the conversation that took place between Kim and I she told me she would just pay me back my money that I had to pay to the daycare for my son missing that day, and we proceeded to find him new care). So "Kim" LIED to me, and she didn't hesitate to LIE to me. She sat her butt right in that chair and never checked on my son when I called. That is so unprofessional, just like no one knowing how my son tooth got chipped! What were they serving the children for snack time, bite-size rocks?!? Whatever you do parents do not take your children to this location. A parent speaking from experience. Now I cannot degrade the entire Kindercare franchise, but I can state how pitiful this location is from the experience. read more

All the teachers know all the students, they are constantly friendly and my daughter has learned a lot. She is already writing her name and she has begun writing sight words! I am a single mom who works a full-time job in San Francisco. My son has been going to this KinderCare since he was about 4mos. old. From my first site visit I was made comfortable with the environment I was leaving my son in. Ms. Paula Zimmerman was always available to answer any questions I had about the facility, my son's development path or the teachers and daycare policies/procedures. If an issue arose it was addressed immediately and fairly. The teachers are fantastic care givers and very attentive to my son and all of the children's needs. There is a nice mix of experienced caregivers and younger caregivers being mentored. My son has grown up at Pittsburg KinderCare and is a happy, confident little boy. This is largely due to the awesome team at KinderCare! I want to give a shout out to Ms. Fashta, Ms. Zima, Ms. Tasia, Ms. Nonny, Ms. Mischa, Ms. Julie, Ms. Kim, Ms. Carla and Ms. Paula.
