This is my second round of sessions with Pivot PT in Falls Church City and I had a great outcome. With a recent diagnosis of advanced osteoperosis, I needed help with strength training and understanding how to continue the regimen as I wrap up my work with Pivot. Fearn Kealy is INCREDIBLE. I was walking after 2 days of intense PT with her and my knee had been locked for 2 months after a total hip replacement. I go to Pivot at 300 M Street SE, I have a physical therapist name Emily, who was assigned to me, I had Hannah who is great, and treats all her customers with great respect. On June 6, 2023, at 5:00 pm I went to my normal visit, and Emily sent a message to me to wait until 5:30 pm, I had to go because of the limited parking. I came back today at 1:40 pm, and Emily walked out into the reception area and looked at another customer who had an appointment at the same time, was white, and took her, and did not come back for me, so I left, I'm 77 y.o. and a woman of color. That is so not right and unfair, I would have worked out with the other customer, because I pretty much know the routine, but don't leave me waiting. read more

Whitney was my physical therapist after my ACL surgery and she was amazing. Always friendly and wanting to help. She helped me regain mobility in my knee while strengthening my leg. The other staff members here are all courteous as well. The parking garage is literally right next to this location and there are designated parking spots for Pivot. I am thankful for Whitney and co and highly recommend seeing them for your physical therapy needs. read more

I came to Pivot based on my podiatrist's prescription for PT on my foot that was fractured. I was skeptical of Pivot given they are a chain. However, Sam did a good job of assessing my situation and treating my foot with the exercises and progression I needed. No complaints and I'm on the road to getting back to where I want to be. I left after a number of sessions with a good understanding of my recovery path. I appreciate that they don't try to lock you into a set number of sessions and leave you to determine how far you want to go with PT based on your needs/goals. Front desk people get you setup and organized but know this place gets booked up quickly so book appointments in advance. Billing was a mystery that I figured out as I went along while monitoring my insurance claims, but it was nice to have insurance accepted! read more

So I wanted to wait to write this review. It's been a week since I left. Very irritated-very upset. This place is nothing but a hangout for their so called therapists. I tried I believe 4-5 therapy sessions for the gratsons for my plantar fasciitis. First, I'm pretty positive after watching a hundred videos online he never once provided the therapy in the right location. Second, he was so busy chit chatting with the other therapist that I have no clue what the heck was going on during and after but the so called therapy afterwards was definitely not for my plantar facilities and it only made me feel worse and had no affect for my foot. Someone needs to monitor these "kids" and see that all they are doing is talking amongst themselves and not even paying attention to their patients because they truly are going to hurt someone one day. They only reason I have two stars is for the always smiling and helpful and patient front desk staff. read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff that genuinely cares about you and your progress. Kristen is my therapist and a he is always cheerful and gentle when assessing my problematic areas. I found this office because it is close by my house. Parking is limited, but have never had a problem finding a parking space. However, this office will soon be moving down the street and parking will be much more readily available. I highly recommend this office for any physical therapy. read more

So here I am, writing this review after 24 hours of self-prescribed therapy and anger management...just to ensure that I was not clouding my yelping with nonsense. EEK! 1-star, Methinks not is correct. Just a quick disclosure: I am writing as an innocent bystander, accompanying a patient of Pivot. Here's a little background on how I ended up at this establishment. My roommate was recently injured and was "prescribed" physical therapy. AND WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU DO WHEN YOU NEED TO FIND THE BEST OF THE BEST PLACE?! .... YELP IT!!! As we did. The rating on here was spectacular, the location was close by our place - a win-win! As we arrived to Pivot, we noticed the parking was limited, but that was simply A-OK! We had our (as I like to call it) VIP pass aka our handicap placard. Upon checking in, the receptionist greeted us and was very kind and helpful. She provided us with additional paper work (on top of 10 other that was filled in advance). We were 15 minutes early and was asked to provide the referral paper from the doctor - yikes! that was one document we forgot to bring with us. The physical therapist on duty then turned around quick (while with another patient) and said "by law we need that paper". Understood and without hesitation, I said, "Ok, I will drive to go get it" - we live down the street (~9minutes away). The receptionist said that should be ok. My roommate stayed back. As soon as I returned, I noticed my roommate walking out. They told him that "even if she returns in two minutes, I will not be able to take you". But... I don't understand? We were told that it was ok to go home and retrieve the document. Kim was not helpful at all, and I don't understand how Pivot can have a such a professional like Kim working as the face of Pivot. In her defense (I suppose) she had another appointment right after ours and could have probably used a break since there was another patient before us (even though I thought our appointment was for an hour). But what I could not understand is that why did they watch me leave the premises knowing that there was no way for my roommate to be seen that day. As for the rest of the yelpers providing reviews for Pivot, in their defense, there is a "contest" posted on a piece of a paper at the front desk to see which Pivot location can get the most "5-Star" review. I think that itself allows for bias opinion of the establishment. Bottom line: I would not recommend this location in particular to my friends or if possible avoid "Kim". read more

In March, 2015 I slipped on ice and severed my quadriceps tendon. Three days later, my knee was surgically repaired and three weeks later, I began physical therapy. I selected Pivot partly because I had had a positive experience with their L Street location in DC, and because I wanted a place close to my home. I was unable to drive and wanted to minimize taxi costs. My surgeon said he had heard good things about them. On my first day, I had lots of questions for Clinical Director Marius Hernandez. I was very concerned that my leg was fragile and I wanted to make sure absolutely sure that therapy would not make the situation worse. Marius assured me that he had worked with several cases like mine. I was reassured when we began with massage and gentle stretching exercises, designed to restore range of motion. At first, I could bend my leg about 45 degrees. Over time, the exercises became more aggressive, until I reached 90 degrees of flexibility. Then I started on the exercise bicycle. At first, I could not make an entire revolution. But eventually, I could cycle for ten minutes with resistance of 10. As the weeks progressed, we moved on to new exercises designed to improve strength and balance. My injury was more serious than those experienced by many of the other patients. Over a four month period I saw a steady stream of others coming in on crutches, as I had, or with various back and shoulder injuries. Most "graduated" faster than I did. It was my opinion that each patient received appropriate care for their various injuries. I need to give a shout-out to Marius's assistant, Renice, who provided expert assistance, comic relief, and a soundtrack centered on Motown classics. As a result, an atmosphere of good cheer permeated the place. It would be an overstatement to say that it was "fun", but we had a lot of laughs together. Many of my fellow patients were fun too. Now that I've "graduated," I kind of miss them all. BTW, the range of motion in my repaired leg is 138 degrees, somewhat better than in the other leg. read more

Excellent personal physiotherapy from personable, knowledgeable highly trained staff! Highly recommended! My physiotherapist Marius has worked very hard to help me regain range of motion in my recent knee replacement. I had complications (severely herniated disc in my back) which he worked around, and now I am almost at my goal. It wasn't so long ago I didn't think I'd ever get to this point! I'm so happy about this! He has also helped me again strength in my back and legs which had atrophied since my first operation. By the time I have my second total knee replacement next year I'll be much stronger and better prepared than I was for the first one! Generally helped me out well after surgery. Several convenient locations with later hours for us working folks. They have amazing cooled compression therapy to help muscle recovery. The PT played on her laptop for almost the entire duration of ALL of my visits -letting her intern do everything. I have no complaints about his performance, but question her integrity. SO far, not a great place, but still worth the convenience due to its location. THEN, I get a bill for almost everything. Pivot billed the wrong procedures under the wrong provider (the PT who didn't do anything), and of course my insurance declined to pay all but a measly $25. My insurance told me if they had been billed correctly, all the visits would have been covered. So now I have called the single number available for the billing department (no chat, no email, no app) at least 20 times. After five minutes on hold- even if you are the so-called "caller #1" the system forces you into leaving a message. You will never get though. Of course I have not been called back. It's the complete lack of communication regarding the billing department that infuriates me the most. This is a company who can email you short videos of your therapy and uses an app to send your bill-- but they only have one contact method (and apparently only one operator) for billing questions/issues??? Unacceptable. Not impressed, and will not return. I will ask for another referral elsewhere. read more

My mom usually is "the service was alright" kinda of person, but today after her last session with Pivot Physical Therapy, Falls Church VA, she has asked me to open a Yelp account and write a review for this place. My mom recently had a Total Knee Replacement surgery. She completed her three months of physical therapy with Pivot Physical Therapy, Falls Church VA. She absolutely loved this place. In the past she has been to other places for therapy, and they would show her some exercises, and she would be on her own. Here her therapist worked with her one on one. She worked with Sean for the most part, and she has not stopped raving about him. During her session he spent a lot of time working with her one on one. Sean has given her a lot of support and encouragement. Today, my mom has started walking 30 mins twice a day and she is getting better everyday. read more

I was referred to Marius Hernandez at Pivot Physical Therapy in Falls Church for rehabilitation work on several herniated disks in my neck. Marius has been absolutely outstanding. He definitely knows what he's doing, and I'm extremely happy to say that I have not felt this good in ages, and have been able to start pushing my gym workouts and Brazilian Jiu-jistu harder than I have been able to in several years. Pivot Physical Therapy has been a life saver! I hurt my back and they were able to help me get back on my feet...literally it hurt to stand or even sit up right. Now I am back to work, still on light duty, but on my way back. Marius has been great and able to adapted different exercises due to my previously fragile knee and bad wrist. Marius and the aides not only make physical therapy tolerable, but also fun and motivated to do exercises at home. All I have to say is that this place and the people that work here are the BOMB! I came in with really bad hip pain thats been with me for a year. From the moment I came in everyone was very nice and friendly. Carley the receptionist is so sweet and very attentive. My physical therapist was Marius, who is very very knowledgeable and professional, knew exactly what to do to get me back to my normal self, probably even better. After the first week of PT I was feeling so much better, and my pain had subsided. I go about 2x a week , do my exercise homework and im feeling good. Lets not forget about the awesome PT. Tech Nick who's layed back, knowledgeable and not bad looking at all. If you need a good Physical Therapist practice with a Great Physical Therapist Pivot PT is the way to go. While youre doing your exercises they got good music ( you can request your genre) playing in the back ground. Pivot PT is the truth! read more
