Black lights and scary-ish attraction, including a giant talking skull and a pissed-off dragon. It's a short course with no stair, a plus for my knees. They didn't have paper scorecards, so we had to download an app. I really didn't like this at first, but by the end of the round, I'm going to try and find an app for the rest of the tournament.

The kids were playing together on the playground, with parents watching them from a healthy distance while talking to each other probably talking sh*t about parents who aren't present. It reminded me of a time before phones and convenience culture took over the entire world. A time before you'd get super frustrated when your Doordash order would take 10 more minutes than expected or when Netflix would buffer. A time when you were grateful to be able to just call your homie on his landline to see if he could hang out. A simpler time. I almost felt like a kid again, being fully present and just being happy to get my blood flowing while the sun was out and shining. The only moment I really have is right now so I'm gonna enjoy it. I love how you sign up for a time slot on this court with pen and paper on a bulletin board, as there is no way to do it online. Along with the sign up sheet, the bulletin board consists of flyers for local tennis coaches, a workout class, and an opportunity to adopt a foster cat. A true sense of community. Convenience culture, while it obviously has its pros, sort of kills a sense of community... Alright I'm doing the most right now on this review for a Community Center so I'll wrap it up. Places like this are a big part of what bring communities together and give people a sense of belonging and connection to one another, and I think it's a bit lost in our modern day culture in big cities. It's really worth filling out the form online, otherwise the checkin process takes a good ten minutes instead of ten seconds. We rented skates; they seemed to be in good condition and were easy to put on and adjust. It was my first time ever with hockey skates but that worked out OK since it's more like inline skating. Our Norwegian niece was immediately comfortable on them. Almost everyone else seemed to be having a pretty hard time skating and the uneven surface might be part of the cause. It's not smooth and flat like most rinks and people generally don't skate in an orderly fashion. But the atmosphere is great and 1.5 hours was the perfect amount of skating for us.

This playground offers a space to stretch your legs and fun for your more adventurous kids. It is conveniently located right off of I-95, with plenty of parking, and there are plenty of picnic tables and benches for parents who just want to sit back. I did take off one star for the lack of restroom facilities, which I believe is very important when you're out with kids. There are porta-potties nearby.

I'm in a kickball league that plays at Markward every week. To optimize the space, we play on the grass portions of the field, so two games can happen concurrently. The space is very poorly maintained, so when it comes time to run the bases and determine outs, it's nearly impossible for the players and umpire to see the bases because the grass is so overgrown. There are also large amounts of weeds growing up the fences. While the location of this park and playground is convenient, it does not seem to be cared for at all. Maybe the fields are being neglected because the playground is under construction?
