I'm not sure if this has been recently renovated but suddenly the massive queue made sense. The decor can only be described as a mix between willy wonka's chocolate factory and the mad hatters tea party. So quaint and quirky - very on trend! As well as the standard ice cream they sell sweets, buns, cakes and so much more. I opted for Belgium choc, pooh bear and raspberries and cream. No regrets. I will definitely be stopping here again. Might start leaving early for the airport on purpose now!

I can't imagine living without it, Apparently pooh bear is unheard of only that short hop, skip, jump across the water, or at least they do a variation of it which consists of jaw breaking honeycomb and poor quality ice cream. Sounds atrocious! So lucky enough I live here then. But, Oh the decisions you have to make. Normally it is without a doubt pooh bear, but now they've started making chocolate bear! Like pooh bear, but with chocolate! What are they trying to do to me! I haven't even got to their waffles, Drool. The ice cream must be something to do with our happy cows. Over time all the Maud's parlours have gained an undying reputation with locals. I personally cannot get enough of their mint chocolate chip ice cream, although I have heard that their pooh bear ice cream is some of the best ever made. What is really good about Maud's is the portions/price ratio. I often feel that some parlours skimp a little bit of the amount of ice cream you get, but Maud's ice cream always ensure that either your cone or tub is filled to tipping point. A little advice from me, their dark chocolate sprinkles with crushed nuts on any ice cream really transforms it into an incredible dessert!

If you're going to Mauds get Poor Bear on a cone, it's basically honeycomb ice cream but the chunks of honeycomb are huge. They also sell Bailies coffee so if you're not an ice cream fan you can grab a coffee and question what life with ice cream would be like.

Anyway, I went in to get a big dish of take away dinner for I am entertaining (Don't you know - said in a very posh voice!) tomorrow evening. my future mother in law recommended the place if you are having people round as they do a great variety of hot dishes like lasagna, curry, sweet and sour, stews for up to 20 people at decent prices. I went for chilli chicken for 6 - 6 very generous portions came to £20. While I was waiting I noticed a bit of an atmosphere in the place and i asked the guy who was serving me what was happening. He informed me that the boy band Mcfly had just landed in. I said 'what are they doing here?' to which he replied, obviously 'having something to eat.' Being a massive freak when it comes to celebs I had to have a nosy so I stuck my face up against every window in the place until I finally caught a glimpse of them (other people were staring at me as if I was deranged!) When I got home I Google imaged them to make sure it was definitely them - it was. I have to say I am massively impressed with McKees, not only is the food amazing, fresh and local but they sell a great mixture of kitchen goods as well as flowers and gifts AND they even attract celebrities! AWESOME.
