We stopped by here since we saw a few customers eating in the outside patio. We ordered two pizzas--one was the chef's special and the other was a spicy salami pizza. I've had my fair share of pizzas in Italy so far and this was our first pizza in Naples.
Chefs special- came with arugula and ricotta cheese. 3 stars
Spicy salami pizza- 3 stars. Was good but not mind blowing.
I knocked off a star for the demanded tip by our waiter despite it not being customary in Italy. I saw the waiter ASKING the table next to us for a tip as they were trying to leave.
And for our bill when he brought back the change of 23 euros for our 30 euro meal, he grabbed 3 euros out of the palm of my hands while giving me back my change: Uh---what the heck happened. I've been in Florence and Rome and this has never happened where they expected or demanded tip. How rude. I took back the change to count the total change. This isn't about me not wanting to tip 3 euros, it's a matter of principle. Why the differential expectation just for being from another country when we are getting same service and eating the same food as any other guest. He was older, bald man with glasses. Shoulda gotten a photo.
