This is a 'I'm so hungry I want to go to an all-you-can-eat buffet' place. Number 1 China does offer a pretty good buffet for the price you'd expect to pay. Some of the food doesn't taste too bad but I always have to wonder how much (if any) MSG is being used. It is often very busy and you're more than likely going to see someone you know in this small town. There's nothing fancy about the inside but it is adequate. Here is why I'm giving this restaurant 2 (2 1/2) stars. The problem with Number 1 China has to do with the fact that EVERY time my wife and I have gone there, one or both of us has stomach problems right afterwards. Every time. Typically this sort of thing happens because of bad food prep (not clean) or ingredients that are contaminated. Not sure what it could be with this place. There are some wonderful people working there. Friendly and kind. If you do go, please remember to tip the people bringing you your drinks and clearing the table. They earn every penny of it.

Vintage old signs and decor adorn the walls and everything is so neat and clean. We ordered breakfast with Ms. Annie and let me just say the western omelette, hash browns and toast was AMAZING!! Everything you could possibly need to accommodate your breakfast was neatly organized on the table from butter to sugar, creamer and condiments. Afterwards we found out that Annie waited on us AND cooked our food! Exceptional service and food quality! We're coming back for that burger everyone is raving about!! Hubby & I were out at my dads new property for my birthday checking out where he has purchased more land & a new house. Leaving, we were needing a birthday party quick hangover cure to the rescue! Lol Stopping for gas next door to this cute little drive-in, we notice it was completely PACKED! We were famished, so we decided to check it out. Inside, the place is super cute, what a find! So I started taking pics. This man, I presume "Larry the owner" comes to our table & says to me, "do you want to take pics inside the kitchen too?" LOL I said, "no, but I love your place it's very cute & I love the way you vaulted the ceilings, my hubby & I are in the process of refurbishing a carriage house & want to vault the ceilings just like this. How did you do it?" So he goes on to tell us all about his adorable Little small town cafe/ drive-in & you can see the pride that he has for this beautiful little place in his eyes. Just beaming. What a surprise!!! I figured the buffet would be dried out...but it wasn't. Evthg looked very fresh and not just turned over. Wifey went with the buffet and I choose the ribeye steak.
