I went into the store a few times but was reluctant to try the pizza mostly due to it being located inside of a deli but I thought to give it a try yesterday and what a surprise, The one I tried was the "Not your mama's" pizza with pepperoni, mozzarella , spinach and garlic ricotta. The quality of the sauce and other ingredients were outstanding and the crust was crispy with good amount of char, something was missing from several pizza's I have tried in a few pizzerias in the Lakeland winter haven area! It looked so good that I ate the pie before remembering to take a photo. I went back today for more, it was soo good, and didn't forget the pic. It's the closest thing to NY style pizza! The cheese is gooey and the sauce is saucy! I wish the undercarriage/dough could hold up to the cheese and sauce, not complaining, because they check off most on my pizza checklist. I went early in their opening. The food was good, but took a long time to make. Their reasoning was "call-ins" bumped us standing in front of them. Several work guys who walked in, walked out due to the wait. Didn't see a lot of "healthful" practices behind the counter (no handwashing after leaving behind the counter area, gloves to touch product, wipe downs after one order). It was crowded inside so I went outside to a bistro table to wait. They said they'd get me, but did not, so had to weedle back in. They have since changed their name to Pizza Odyssey, someone said due to "proprietary issues" with the first name. I would try again because they get lots of good reviews, and have had time to improve, but not jumping to get there, due to the lack of ambiance, access. read more

I had been hearing good things about this place so I ordered a pizza. It's inside of a convenient store that I've been going to for well over 20 years. I went up to the front counter because I was going to purchase something before I picked up my pizza, and the guy behind the counter immediately said he was not going to serve me. I asked him what he was talking about, and he said that I was the guy that said something about his mother in law's dead something or the other. I have no clue what this guy is talking about. Then he shows me a picture of his phone of somebody that's not me. I said man what are you talking about? He says you drive a blue truck don't you? I said no I drive that gray SUV sitting right there in front of the door. He says I don't care just get out. Then he starts calling over to the Pizza guy to come over and then customers starts walking over so I walked out the door and left. As I was leaving one of the Pizza guys were standing at the door looking at me so I rolled my window down and asked him where the owner was his response to me was get the fuck out of here!! So I just left. About an hour later, they called me asking me if I'm going to pick up my pizza that I ordered and I told them to give it to the guy at the register because he seemed a little hungry and angry. The Pizza guy then goes oh that was you that ordered this pizza? Before I can say anything he says, well we wouldn't appreciate your business anyway and hung up on me. First of all, I don't know what the first guy was talking about and I definitely don't appreciate this pizza guy talking to me like he knew what was going on when I didn't even know what was going on.
