Naples Pizza Restaurant - BBQ chicken pizza. They let you choose 2 free extra toppings. I like pineapple and pepperoni.

This little authentic Italian restaurant/pizzeria is hidden away in the suburbs of Zillmere. Who…read morewould have thought Zillmere would have such great pizza? The restaurant is owned and operated by Carlo Sica, and by reading the framed news articles adoring his walls, he's been making pizza for years! They have an extensive menu including traditional and gourmet pizzas, pastas, meat and chicken main dishes, soups, salad and desserts. The restaurant is B.Y.O. only and you can either sit inside the dining room or out on the footpath. It's a very quiet street with little traffic, and the alfresco seating is very casual and popular. We were just picking up our takeaway pizza on Sunday night and the outdoor seats were all occupied, and there were a number of older Italian couples. I take that as a sign this food is genuine and authentic. The pizzas were amazing - $20 for the family size pizza (13.5inch), $16 for the large (12inch) and $11 for small (9inch). They also offer free delivery for orders over $20. There are mid-weeks specials too. Tuesday & Wednesday it's 2 large pizzas for $26, and Tuesday through to Thursday, if you spend more than $30 you receive a free small focacia. For the sweet tooth, there's imported Italian Gelati and home-made Tiramisu!

They also have a variety of pastas that my wife thinks are fantastic. One of the most convenient aspects of this restaurant is that they also deliver free of charge, which is very handy! It's not up to the standard of a flashy gourmet restaurant, but it is our favourite local Italian restaurant, and we think it's great!

We're regular visitors (and active members) of the RSL up the street. It's fairly run of the mill,…read morebut they have a delightful curtesy bus which will pick you up and drop you off if you're in their catchment which is GENIUS! We could always walk, but we usually visit when I'm feeling too lazy to cook dinner and therefore too lazy for strolling up the road. The food here is pretty basic and tasty. I would probably file it in the category of comfort food, like my mum would make. I am a big fan of the cheap roast night (sundays, at the time of writing this review), all their roasts are pretty delicious and good value compared to me slaving in the kitchen making a roast for 2! The desserts are meh. Bought in sort of affair, I don't recommend. Their main drawcard for my partner is that they have Guinness on tap. And it's quite cheap. My main drawcard is cheap wines. I love cheap wines. $3.50 a glass? DON'T MIND IF I DO. I am obviously a wine connoisseur. Also recommended are the steaks - their chefs know their way around the grill and I have never had a less than perfectly cooked delicious steak at the RSL. Another thing of interest is the SALAD BOWL, where when you order a main meal they give you a bowl to self-serve yourself some various salads. There is some wacky stuff in there... it's sort of like a minefield. There is also a woodfired pizza oven on the other side of the 1st floor, in the "coffee shop" which seems random, I am yet to try that out though. I always find the staff to be friendly and helpful, and membership is pretty cheap so if you live in the area I reckon you should join up and come on down. YELP ROAST NIGHTS, we could make it happen.

The Geebung-Zillmere RSL Club is trying very hard to expand its target market. Like all RSL clubs…read morethey have the usual Pokie lounge and downstairs bar full of old-timers enjoying sport on TV, as well as the café and restaurant upstairs that have meal deals on each night of the week. But they are also holding various events each month - Trivia nights, Comedy nights, Bridal Expos. There is always something going on the Geebung RSL, and it seems to be lively on the weekends. For members, there is a bottle shop, which is very handy because there are no other bottle shops in the Geebung area. Membership is only $7 a year, so it's worth having just for the bottle shop access. Unfortunately I can't really say anything too great about the food at the restaurant. When I first moved to the area, we often would go for Woodfire Pizza night (no longer on), Steak night (Thursday) or Roast night (Sunday). They even had a Sunday breakfast buffet, but that was cancelled too. The last time we went for Steak night ($14 for rump or t-bone with chips, & salad or vegies) we were very disappointed in our sad little dried steaks, full of gristle. We went back again a few weeks later and I had the Grilled Fish of the Day, which was passable (but the watery vegetables look like they are from a frozen pack) and my husband had steak again. Unfortunately it had not improved. The roast of the day is still the best value - $12.50 for regular, $14.50 for large - and is probably the safest bet. They can still do a pretty good roast, and if you go on Sunday for Roast night there is a choice of roast beef, roast lamb and roast pork. It's still a very popular spot for the Seniors, who get regular discounts and specials and a courtesy bus home, but the Geebung-Zillmere RSL is also starting to attract a younger market with their affordable bar prices and regular events.
