Do not go here. The worst pizza I have ever had! I ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza and there was maybe 3 pepporonis on it and 5 mushrooms. I ordered online and it told me I needed to pick it up in a hour (which seemed pretty long for a carry out). I waited an hour and when I got there there was one other car in the parking lot (not a good sign). There was a drive through for carry out so I pulled around and wait 10 minutes for someone to come to the window (even after making eye contact with 2 employees while I was sitting there). Road trippin' across South Dakota when we found ourselves near Mitchell when the cries for sustenance from the backseaters became intolerable. Exited and found Pizza Ranch close to the interstate and gave it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised. Pizza was really pretty good and way past average even before grading on the "small town with not many options" curve. One word of caution though - the large pizza is not very big so plan accordingly. read more

What can I say, we will never be back. Food was cold on the buffet, service was poor, however, the worst of our experience was the cleanliness of the establishment. Bathrooms were as bad as the outhouses at Sturgis; the floor had food all over it as if not cleaned for days; and there were several flys buzzing on the food itself and tables and chairs. My wife and I are from the Black Hills and we were traveling across the state and decided to stop and eat. We have 2 locations near us and compared to this place they suck. The Spearfish location never has fresh pizza let alone other fresh food, it all been out and dried. The Sturgis location is a hit and miss. This location while we were here they are going through an obvious remodel! But that didn't change the great customer service, food and experience we received while we were here. The food was excellent I'm not sure how it can be different when they all should meet the same standard. Other locations need to learn from this one. read more

If I could go below one star I might consider it. We are fans of Pizza Ranch and have been to several locations spanning several states. This location in Mitchell SD is the worst one I have ever visited. The selection of food was tiny and had been sitting for a while, and although I requested a pizza be brought to my table I never received it. The building was old and not suited size wise to house the amount of people eating and it was one of the dirtiest places I have ever eaten. I actually felt unclean eating here and I am not usually that picky. If you are considering a stop here I would suggest you choose another venue. read more

Only 3 pizzas in the whole buffet were fresh. The taco pizza could be made with prison commisary and the rest of the buffet looked like it had been sitting overnight. Not impressed. Staff was friendly and place was clean but, not worth it. I wont be back. read more

Had pizza delivered to a motel. It was good enough that i deemed it worthy of a review. Hot and fresh, what more could you want? The only other ranches that Ive heard of are the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, and Spohn Ranch. One full of naked tits and the other mass murderers. Pizza Ranch smokes them both. read more

Took the family for a late lunch at around 2pm. Place was filthy with dirty dishes stacked in about 1/2 of the tables in the restaurant! Plenty of people working (or at least standing around) but only one person trying to keep up tables. Spent just shy if $40 for four of us to eat and there was hardly any food on the buffet. What was there looked like it had been sitting there all day. Probably won't be going back any time soon!!! read more

We went inside at 8:15 pm on a Saturday and were told they were closing at 8:30. The guy behind the counter was pretty smug about it. We of course left because a family with kids cant eat in 15 minutes. When we looked at the door their hours stated they were in fact open until 10 pm and there was nothing saying they were closing early. We usually like Pizza Ranch but after this I seriously doubt we will go back. read more

We arrived a bit after 2pm on Saturday. Kitchen staff of 5+ were all in the kitchen singing to a song loudly and having a great time. First up salad bar. No lettuce no ranch dressing. Pizza was decent, chicken was good. Then, no tea in either container... waited 15 minutes for a dessert pizza. 2 mgrs on duty- one never stepped away from the cashwrap (counting $ at 2pm?), the other in the kitchen. Zero focus on the food line, the customers or tasks that needed to be completed. If I owned this place my head would explode! Totally over staffed and nobody could see that there was plenty to do: clean the bathrooms, sweep up the crumbs from the floor, tidy up the salad bar, ensure food is replenished, provide a tad of Customer service... and I was simply observing from my table- no deep dive... If only the "mgrs" looked around and gave a bit of direction to the staff, this could have been a 5 star experience. It's all about leadership folks... read more
