We went to get our salads and they were two small plates on the bar that were the size of a cake plate. We asked the waitress if that was what we were supposed to make a salad with and she said yes. So we both made a very small salad which was really not too hard because they were not that much to make a salad with and then I went to put bacon bits on my salad.. no bacon bits .. went to get crackers ... no crackers asked the waitress as she walked by .. no crackers. She came out and asked if we would take something else to drink because they hadn't made any tea and we said we would take water with lemon. She came back and .. no lemon. She said they had lemon juice and I said no. We went to get another salad and they were no more plates and no more waitress. We waited and waited. Knowing he shouldn't my husband took his plate and made himself another salad. When we got ready to leave they brought out our sweet tea .. it was not sweet. We paid .. we left. I did not say anything because I knew if I said anything I would have caused a scene and I did not want to do that. I stopped at a store and got myself a snack because I left hungry. We will NEVER be back !!!

At first we were reluctant, thinking how could an Italian restaurant be any good in a small town in Virginia. After all, we are of Italian-American descent -- so we know genuine Italian food and being the cook in our home -- I know how to cook Italian. My meatballs are renowned with our family and circle of friends. Not only are we of Italian descent, we are from NYC where there are the best restaurants in the world!!!! We have lived there over 60 years and have ate at the best! We entered the restaurant to see the entry King Kong sign about being the best -- better than NYC. I knew immediately that sign was spot on -- the restaurant smelled like my home growing up as a child on Sunday mornings! The aroma of the red tomato sauce carried us into our seats! (I think I was floating.) There were so many choices on the menu, it was difficult to make our choices. I decided on a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce and the chicken salad. My husband chose the raviolis and a side salad. The dinner included Italian garlic bread! The service from our server was divine: friendly, courteous and professional. The owner/chef visited us at the table a few times to be sure everything was alright, and it was MORE THAN alright. The food was "delicioso!
